  1. ... sorry Dave ... I type in Arado or Arado 196 and get sweet fanny adams??
  2. I'm in your camp with this one Nick! ... There is just SOMETHING about that classical, sleek, elegant shape of the Mk.I's and II's ... even with the crappy jamming armament upgrade 'a' variants Similarly - with 109 E's 1,3 or 4 of that era ... the later ones add plenty - but somehow lose that little 'something' as well ... Now all we need is a freaking DORNIER (sorry - that rant just appears at every opportunity!) and a BPD ... not too much outstanding from the BoB otherwise I would think??? Rog
  3. Nick ... Now, there is a review or WIP on the trolley a while back somewhere on 'A' forum ... god knows where? - I should have "favorites-ed" it... so SOMEONES built one! I have (as of today) the ships catapult (from HPH) now in the stash ... but looking on Pauls' build thread on here - Ouch! ... I thought I might try an interim build (until I retire and my time/patience quotient grows a bit!!) ... and do a smallish "Crete" as opposed to adding to the Bismark display ... this gear, a few Fallschirm hanging around with light weapons etc and PRESTO! - instant diorama ... I saw Hannants ... They have great stock it seems, but they're a bit pricey compared to other UK outlets ... before we even get to the cart/postage thingy. I wish Profimodellers' website was half as easy to work as HPH ... then I'd buy direct! Cheers Rog
  4. Hi all ... I know that a while back, a company released some mini-kits for the 1/32 Revell Arado 196 I have since found out it is ANOTHER Czech company called profimodeller! These include: A Wheelbarrow/hand cart P32059 A Tow bar P32060 A Buggy (Trailer) P32061 A Tractor P32062 I've seen some screen shots of them all on one page (perhaps they have compiled them into one kits also??) Anyone know where I can get them at reasonable prices - preferably in Australia? I've tried their website and it's a mess to operate! Regards, Rog
  5. Today I recieved a couple of Belgian Chocolates ... er ... HPH kits in the mail ... 1 Ships Catapult for the Arado 196 ... and 1 Supermarine Walrus (Goo Goo ga joob?!) Rog
  6. Er ... you mean 190's! ... Notice it's name??? "*boom* *boom* *boom* Errrrrrrrrrrrr - ika!"
  7. ... maybe if it was a BOB GB we might be able to coax one of our manufacturers (maybe one in Germany hint, hint) to fill out the missing links!! ... like a Do-17z or even a BPD? ... Having said that I DO love a good Junkers
  8. Holy maccaroni !!! ... some of our LHS's would envy your shop ... er, work area!
  9. EXACTLY!!! ... a like 3D photograph or painting or sculpture!
  10. Ian ... In answer to your questions ... * I don't generally post build threads or WIP's online ... the main reason being knockers'n'mockers - my skill set is not huge! And while I do not seek praise for work done in enjoyment - I certainly don't like people tearing me down either ... If I want direction or need help with something I can always ask - so not posting is the best solution. * I won't be building the Catapult/Arado for some time as its going in with the 'Bismarck' display (currently housing a 1/200 Bismarck + 1/32 'Ark Royal' Swordfish) ... and I am working on a 1000mm x 800mm coffee table diorama for Afrika Korps at the moment ... The 'France May 1940' one took me near on 2 years (much bigger - think dining room table!) ... this one is a fair way down the track, but there are some bits and kits that haven't even arrived here yet, so until it's finished - no other plans. To offer what little help I DO have ... I think pretty much all resin kits have to be worked over to fit correctly ... From what I've read, most kits have issues with flash or ejection marks ... and even fit issues due to warping - all of which are fixable. Apparently, resin kits are a little like 'limited run' injection mould in these regards ... I say 'apparently' because, until now, I've never owned either and all of a sudden I have a flurry of gear inbound - my MDC Hawker Typhoon has arrived a week ago (resin) ... The Walrus and Catapult kits from HPH (resin) are on their way ... as are 2 early FW-190's, a Hawker Tempest and Hawker Hurricane (limited run IM) ... MY solution (I may try test-fitting before I commit!), MIGHT be to buy the HPH Arado?? Now, I may be assuming incorrectly here, that the two kits were developed side-by-side and so the HPH Arado fits where the Revell kit does not?? … And then there’s some manufacturer that has developed a transport trolley, tow hitch and tractor for an Arado also – This I might use for the Revell kit along with some Fallschirm Jaeger to display a “Crete” diorama! There seems to be a few options around … so I’ll wait until the bits and pieces are in 1st My thoughts Rog
  11. Ian ... well ... I HAVE been looking on with interest, I must say ... BUT ... My skills don't match anywhere near what Has been done here!! - I honestly can't recall the last time I SAW a soldering iron, let alone used one! ... So ... I may just consider buying the HPH Arado 196 for the catapult ... and create yet another small diorama (perhaps for Crete??) with the Revell kit using that cart/tractor combo I saw somewhere online. Rog
  12. Got one on order (edit: not from Hannants!!) ... due in about a week and a half ex-UK
  13. Hai! ... Panzer Vor!!
  14. lol Steve ... I watched it for entertainment, what else? ... I thought it was good clean fun! But what surprised me was the knowledge of and accuracy of the various panzers (all tanks) and panzerkraft (albiet in a basic way) ... The funny references to different cultures, historical battles and millitary figures was an added bonus! R
  15. For some fun on my days off I decided to watch this: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com.au/video/26900/ I watched the entire first season over a couple of days and I had an absolute ball!! ... as is usual with any anime/animation there are plenty of references that only adults or enthusiasts will understand ... The show was a cult hit in Japan and the marketing has been phenominal!! I found out about it when one of the latest of the local junior model 'junkies' a 9 yr old girl across the way ... started building the 1/35 Pz.IV. Ausf.D that you can get ... she wants to build the others as well. Rog
  16. ... Thanks very much!!
  17. Oooooo ... touche!!! ;)
  18. Very nice dio!! love the palm trees ... where'd you get them?
  19. Nice of you to say ... however I never post build/completed threads or pictures, sorry! (too many critics out there for my mind!) But I have no problem asking people for help if I run into difficulty Rog
  20. This deserves it's very own theme music ... I'm going to go with Madonna's: "Like a virgin" ... because I am touching resin "for the very first time"!! At my front door (In Perth, Western Australia) today, all the way from Derbyshire in England, arrived a kit I have been waiting near on 3 years to buy ... ... taking only an incredible 6 days to get here - including the day I put the order through and two weekend days ... Staggering! My very own MDC Hawker Typhoon (served with a side of HE rockets!) ... I would LOVE to do a review ... not just an "In-Box" review, but a review of my whole "Customer Experience" ... Obviously I am well over 3 years too late ... but my experience is breathtaking!! Well ... off to smoke a cigarette now Rog
  21. Ahhh ... I see! ... though tell me, is the nose on the D version that much different from the E (except prop or spinner) ?? At any rate ... Whether I use kit parts or AM parts my main concern is getting that nose assembly to fit! Nicely ... Which it seems, from a couple of build threads posted on here, that it does not ... Rog
  22. That is ONE tight fit you aren't going to 'sand' your way out of!!!!!
  23. Thanks Nick Headslap to self!! ... Duh! Perth Millitary Modeling (@ILIVEheredammit_Ishouldknowthis.com) I'll hammer their site some ... after I recover from concussion Rog
