I had both, after taking a look in the box, I kept the Tamiya. As far as the look of the kit, it seemed better, and I cant imagine it being problematic on build. The other one is an academy kit...

Yes, I see it. Not sure if it can be seen with spinner in place. I’ll check it out -

My green was actually a mistake, I meant to paint it a lighter more olive green, but picked up the wrong bottle of paint, then found that it actually was a better color match (I was making a very specific aircraft). The bottom color was Tamiya IJA light gray. -

Yes, surprisingly, this aircraft has some wide color choices, unlike late war zeros. I plan on building my Ki-44 in NMF, ought to a nice contrast to the rest of the Japanese collection. -

Got this sucker wired up, and added a few oil lines. Looking at this lad photos, these things were pretty simple for wiring on the front. I still have to paint the plug wires and oil lines. Not a lot can be seen past the smallish opening. -
i got the 1/32 version, I had no idea he was making these in 1/24 now.

Step one, fix landing gear. I drilled out the legs and the wing with a .4mm pilot hole, then opened it up with a 1.1mm bit. I had some plastruct steel core plastic rod, this was 1mm, but it runs a little oversized. You definitely want to use hardened cutters to cut this stuff! Pressed into place, not glued until it leaves for Chattanooga. I will also be adding brake lines too. -
My previously finished model is now a work-in-progress again. This was my favorite model that I finished, I was most proud of the paint & weathering job on this one. But I was never 100% happy with it, and when I moved across country a year ago, one of the landing gear ended up snapped, in the process of repairing it, I managed to break the other gear leg and antenna wire. In addition, the Eduard panel in the cockpit just never matched the rest of the dirty cockpit, I never did the plug wires on the engine, and the gearbox detached itself from the cylinders inside the cowl. I decided that it was time to make this pretty good model into one I am absolutely proud of. Its going to undergo a restoration and improvement. Today... One year ago

I believe the A-20 is being released in 2020 by Fly, and the Helldiver too. I thought I heard rumors that the guy behind the resin B-26 was working with a Czech company to make it a plastic kit. So there may be hope. personally, I would love to see a B-29 in my collection, but all above planes would be welcome in my stash!

I appreciate everyone’s encouragement and comments. Unfortunately I work for the largest company of its kind in the world, they continue to gobble up small companies and spit people out, my company was bought by them 13 years ago, slowly I have seen the transition from the previous company’s morals to the big business mentality. Yesterday, they took the name off the building and put the corporate name on. Quite honestly, they don’t sell to the public, therefore, they don’t care about public opinion. They hire and fire people with the contracts like the tides. I have one friend that has worked for them for nearly 30 years, he has been fired and rehired by them 9 times! Another co-worker has been fired twice, each time she worked for a company that was bought by ours, she seems to be in a Groundhog Day situation. Unfortunately, they pay well, so people tend to take the crap. I managed to get a meeting with the HR legal rep today, I confronted him about the very situation of being put in a no win scenario, that’s when he started to backtrack and said he would get back to me with some possible other options. Hopefully that means severance and vacation pay. I don’t know if it will happen, but I would be happy to get it. Right now I genuinely would rather not work for them anymore, I always expected the day would come when we parted ways, but I always expected them to at least offer what they historically have offered others. They have no reason to be hostile to me, as even last Friday I had to send out a letter that our customer would have to contact the new company, fully aware that it meant my work was going away. It was like writing my own obituary. And yes, I think I will at least contact an attorney because I have some confusion as to if the employment laws that pertain to me are where my office is in TX, company based in WA, or where I live in TN.

Employers have no remorse. All a bunch of damn dirty apes.

SO, as I had mentioned before, my job was in jeopardy. The contract my company held was sold back to another company. I was concerned that I would be laid off. Well...last night i got bad news, even worse than I had imagined. I have worked for this company for 14 years, ever faithful servant. Since the program was coming to an end, I imagined I would have until Sept 30 to either find another position where I could work remote, or I would get laid off with a severance package. .....I could only have wished. Last night I got an offer email from my boss, I was not getting laid off. I was being given another job in the general department. However there is a catch...the job is 750 miles away, it starts July 29th, and they will not be giving me any relocation or travel expenses. If I chose not to take it, then that will be my self termination. They basically gave me a no option situation that gives them the most low-down, cheapest, way to let me go. So 14 years of loyalty comes down to no layoff, no package, no severance, just them putting me into a situation where I would be forced to quit. I don't get a penny after that date. just a "don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

I would be the first to buy a "plastic" C-47, but I don't think it would sell well, like the B-24, its just too big for most. The Lanc and the B-17 have a bot more of a cult following, but i cant say the same for the C-47. I am glad that manufacturers are starting to play together, like the collaboration between three companies to make the A-20 come to life, and now a collaboration with Fly to make a Helldiver! Sometimes good things come to those who wait, unfortunately, I just bought an HpH Helldiver a couple months ago.

One thought, any pilots out there for these?

Wow, I think you might be the first person to complete since its release! You got the color right, and the gloss makes it perfect. I love the spinning prop, and I highly recommend you get get the base heavy, I bet that huge spinning prop actually creates some forward force! If its tippy, then it could nose over with it spinning. Again...YOU ROCK DUDE!

Yes, its hard to tell, but I know that judges will see it. I will probably enter both my wingnuts anyway, as the entrance fee includes as many models as you want. For what its worth, the Wingnut decals were more opaque and dont show silvering as much as Aviattic. Im not sure why such a difference from the top to the bottom of the wings as they were both printed on the same sheet. At this point, I am 95% done and I'm going to finish it either way. Edit: One thing I thought of, possibly my gloss coat on the top was smoother than the bottoms?

Looks like this one might make it by year end. Now if someone, anyone, would just make a Val or Kate... We have 20 versions of the Zero, but no other plane that participated in the Pearl Harbor attack.

Yup, end of 2020 I think.
