  1. Some items...... From Tamiya ; their Semovente M42 da75/34 German Army (37029) This is an Italeri collaboration kit. This is the Semovente with a larger gun as used by the Germans. It looks like a decent kit, with interior details, and some new figures added by Tamiya. The tracks are not so great, however, I already have a set of Friulmodel tracks for this thing. With the size of the vehicle and the larger gun, recoil must have been a nightmare. Also today, a set of micro drill bits from CML supply. These have straight shanks and give you the length needed to work on Friul tracks. They are HSS and less likely to snap than the Tungsten drill bits. Last, 3 bottles of Testors DullcoteTop Coat . This is my go-to clear flat. Mixed 50/50 with Tamiya lacquer thinner, works every time.
  2. Great work Carl!. Never knew these things had cockpits.....I thought, somehow, they were autonomous.
  3. Some items today. From DSPIAE, their Angle Cutting Station (AT-CJ). This was a gift, actually, and a very nice one. It's very solidly built an nicely finished. I already tried it out on some styrene rod about 3mm thick.....it worked well and I think this thing could prove very useful. I also got some UV cure resin. From Piccassio, two bottles, each 100g. this set comes with extra nozzles, 2 mixing cups made of silicone, and 2 stirring things ( I think) also made of silicone.....although I'm not sure how much stirring one can do with these sad limp things. Anyway, I haven't worked with this stuff before. I have my Dspiae UV flashlight, and an ancient blacklight from the early 70's that I can use.
  4. Had tornado warnings and heavy thunderstorm warnings here in lake county Illinois last night, but when the storms reached Beach Park, really it was nothing. Relieved.... I've never experienced anything like you just went through. Glad you're safe!
  5. Sad to hear, but glad the treatment helped and she's back with you. I remember finding the same condition with the nails with my Mom's dog and having to cut them regularly until he died....not an easy task. Mikey lived 18 years.
  6. More items today... From Dspiae, their Push Broach Combination Set (CS-PBO1). Comes with 5 sizes of Broaches and an anodized aluminum handle. I bought an extra broach with a 2.8mm tip (PB-28). Basically these Boaches are tiny chisels. I'd seen the tips listed separately before and I was interested, but didn't know which ones to get. Finally, I found this set. I'll probably use the 2.8mm size the most. I also got a MENG Nuts And Bolts set. This one being set D (SPS-009). This set is really a set of rivets; round head and conical. I have their other sets and like using them......somehow, I overlooked this set.
  7. No , War of the Worlds war machine experiment with UV leds...possibly.
  8. Here you go. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-05162-s-100-class--1181853#
  9. Odds and ends today....No models! First, a mess of styrene.....from Evergreen and Plastruct. From Evergreen, various strip, rod, and tube. From Plastruct, hexagonal rod in different sizes. I've been looking for Hex stock for some time......found it online at Tower Hobbies. From Dspiae, some fluorescent green paint. I lit it up with a UV flashlight in one of my pictures. Last decal scissors from Tamiya to replace the ancient ones I've been using.
  10. That rabbit's dynamite!
  11. What adhesive will be used? CA, epoxy,? Any soldering?
  12. More of my JSU-152. Flat coat on, tools on.......next will assemble the Friulmodel tracks.
  13. Incredible work on that Tower! Truly impressive.
  14. John, very nice! Very nice indeed!

  16. Yes, ever since I bought their circle cutter a while back I've been impressed by the quality of their products. I often see their products being sold-out and have been searching for these online lately, lucky to find the ones I wanted in-stock on online shops I've never used before.... Opportunity purchasing I guess. I hear their sprue nippers are good, I'd like to try them out.
  17. A mess of items today.....all DSPIAE stuff. First, their UV Touch Light (UV-T). Used to cure UV adhesives and resins, this thing is far more substantial than I expected. It measures 1" x 4.75". Made of anodized aluminum, this thing comes with a usb cord, has three light settings; high, low, and pulse. I was expecting a tiny pocket light. Very nice. Next; Dspiae's Super Glue Application Stand (AT-GA) . Basically, a set of stainless CA glue applicators with a nice anodized aluminium stand all looking pretty good. After the disaster with my SMK build I had been looking for some good CA applicators....tried the Glue Loopers, wasn't happy with those. Next; bunches of 5mm and 10mm Dspiae sanding discs and connectors for my sanding pen....these are sold-out at a lot of suppliers so I bought what I could find. Last; two sets of replacement blades for my DSPIAE circle cutter. These can be hard to find.... I buy them when I can. Oh, I also bought some Milliput.
  18. Nice work. I have all the big Trumpeter T-34s and their big SU-100 in my stash. 'Been eyeing the SU-100 as my next build.
  19. That's a great kit! I downloaded the instructions from scalemates last night and was looking at in on the Brother's Sprue website this morning! Do a build on that one please!
  20. I used Walther's Solvaset. These decals weren't stubborn, they practically melted with my solution. I found it was best just to leave them alone and let the solvent do the work. Never thought of using Tamiya thinner before. Do you do this over lacquer painted surfaces?
