I would like to see how this thing works....

It's a mini vacuuforming machine. "Coincidentally" I viewed one of these online just a few days ago. Seems strange that Martin posted it without saying.😀 Perhaps he needed someone to say "Waffle maker" first.....Hmmmmm I wonder.

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)
belugawhaleman replied to Martinnfb's topic in Modelling Discussion
Still plodding away on my Tamiya Brummbar....got the Assembly work done and sprayed its base coat.. The kit is a pleasure to build. No issues at all. Next will be adding the camouflage colors......It's been a while since I've tried my hand at the German tri-color. I've got to get started somewhere as I have a lot of kits that feature that. Anyway its been a while since I've been able to get back to the bench. -
Have I mentioned how much I love lacquer paints?

Nice! What brand of lacquers are you using? -

Nice! -
This came today....... Another one from Andy's Hobby Headquarters. This time, another Takom kit. It's their G6 Rhino SANDF Self-Propelled Howitzer In 1/35. I've been looking for one of these for a long time.....they're usually out of stock everywhere. Anyway, it looks like a great kit of an interesting subject.......and it's BIG! The tires are rubber and measure 2 inches in diameter. Looks very well-molded and detailed. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/takom-2052-g6-rhino--1004415

Sheridan tank in the Desert Storm, pictures needed
belugawhaleman replied to Martinnfb's topic in ARMOR
Tamiya released a new-tooled Sheridan in 1/35 and an Rc Version in 1/16. I think they only offer it in Vietnam era markings. I'm thinking of getting the 1/35 version....it looks like a good kit. -

I'm just noting that was when I first noticed the problem. -
My Airfix 1/24 scale Typhoon
belugawhaleman replied to Irishman1's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Hey! That's cool. The Typhoon is cool....just for it's crazy engine alone. 24 cylinders!.......Jeeeez! -
Takom has a habit of producing small tanks and other vehicles in 1/16. Such as the Type 94, ontos, jeep, west German wiesel etc....so, I think it's a possibility.... Would be cool anyway. Riich Models has a nice Universal in 1/35 ....I've taken an interest in getting that one.....but in 1/16 much better!

Bolivian AF Cavalier F-51D done
belugawhaleman replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Wow, John! You finished that one in record time! Looks great! I can't help admiring your growing stable of Mustangs! -
I'd like to see your build. I had one of these years ago,but the kit was lost during a move. I would like to make a helo kit...I heard that there is problems with Takom's Apache instructions and decals...at least that's what that YouTube Nigel guy said so......so, I'm holding off on that one. Meng is releasing their Apache....interesting. I have an autogyro..by Miniart...Sorry, I'm thinking out loud..in print. Anyway, got to finish the Brummbar. BTW....not sure I'd ever jump from a helo....probably get scalped by the blades.....anyway, given my size I'd drop like a stone.

Signature post problems
belugawhaleman replied to belugawhaleman's topic in Problems? Suggestions? Tell us!
Nope. Tried it, doesn't work......a parroted comment? Don't know. I've been doing the same way for at least a couple of years....then, suddenly, the way I've been doing it doesn't work.....Anyway, I found another way. I know the "change" occurred after the site was down. Thanks anyway. Regards; Paul. -
Trumpeter, I think, makes a Mi 4. Do you plan to build one? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/trumpeter-05101-mil-mi-4a-hound-a--149120

Second Cavalier F-51D build
belugawhaleman replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Cool conversion.... I didn't know about the extended tail fin or the wing tip tanks. I have to say, however I think the turbo-prop versions are somewhat obscene looking.....although I would like to know the performance of these. -
I'm probably the only person to want this, but I'd like to see a large 1/16 Matilda or even cooler....a 1/16 Churchill tank. Or.....a 1/16 universal carrier! British subjects in 1/16 are, I think, underrepresented.

$450.00! You'd have to be a real die-hard Neptune fan!

This came today...... It's Takom's Soviet Heavy Tank SMK (No.2112) in 1/35. I've been wanting one of these for some time.....Found one at Sprue Brothers for a decent price. The kit was released in 2018 and looks good. It's big, with the upper hull measuring about 10 inches. It has individual link tracks,.....(240 of them), some photo-etch, clear parts, and copper wire for the tow cable. I like these odd , inter-war, Soviet subjects....especially the multi-turreted tanks. Apparently, only one of these tanks was made and it did see service in Finland. It's tracks were damaged by a mine, it was put out of action, and had to be recovered later. Anyway, sure to be a cool build.

Today, an item from Ryefield Model. It's their ; German Staff Car 82E Full Interior (5023) in 1/35. I decided to buy this after reading a review on this forum of this kit. Looks like a nice little kit. It includes a set of pre-cut masks, which will be a great help for the many windows of this vehicle. Also some photo-etch , vinyl or rubber tires, and decals. Will be a fun, quick build.
