  1. Anyone else order from this outfit? I've just ordered a couple of things from them I couldn't find anywhere else at pretty good prices...... Still pretty cheap including the the shipping. I've ordered from them before without any problems.... But not recently. What are your experiences? Have things changed with recent covid and supply-chain issues?
  2. Sorry to hear about your dogs health problems.....it can be tough especially when Your dog is still so young. Still, let's hope for the best and your dog responds well to treatment. Paul.
  3. Will we see another post? Let's see.
  4. Looking great! Your post is practically a tutorial on weathering armor, thanks!
  5. Looks like an interesting conversion! I have a couple of those Tamiya t55 kits, I was planning on doing one in 1970's Cuban camouflage but that conversion of yours looks Tempting...where did you get it? Update: saw it on Sprue Brothers. Too expensive for me at the moment!
  6. Ok, so another one came today. Another Tamiya kit. This one getting hard to find, at least in 1/35 scale. The Steyr 1500a is more commonly found today in the form of Tamiya's 1/48 scale kits.........1/48 scale armor ....really? Let's not even discuss 1/72 or 1/76 scales! Well, technically this one is more soft-skin than armor. Anyway I liked the looks of this one......couldn't find it In stock at my usual places.......found it on line at a site in Texas. It's sold for about the same price as the 1/48 kits....strange that. My favorite is the commander version. Anyway the kit I bought is German S.gl. Pkw Steyr 1500A/01 (35225). It looks like a neat little kit. A simple build of an interesting little vehicle.
  7. Another great finish John! Well done!
  8. Working on Tamiya's M3 Stuart right now. Not much to show right now. Had an aftermarket barrel by Master to use but found I couldn't make it work with this kit the kit barrel is about 5/16 inch shorter. It would have required cutting the aftermarket barrel. Drilling out the Kit mantlet.... Well, I don't think that would have worked as it would leave little support for the mantlet and make the assembly Inoperable. So 86 on that. I have some aftermarket M1919 barrels by Master but I decided they would work better on another kit. So..this will be just an OOB build...... ..with the exception of the decals. The decals will be for a 1950's Cuban tank. I don't have much to show right now, but may post on works in progress. Basically, I have the hull assembled minus the bogies. These have to be assembled after painting the separate parts. I'm going to mask and paint the wheels first, then assemble the painted suspension halves and touch them up after assembly. I'm not willing to try hand painting the tires with the suspension assembled. I will mask the road wheels using tape cut with Dspiae cutter. Painting the wheel olive, mask in the center then painting the tires. Sorry about the lousy picture, ill follow up later.
  9. A couple items from Tamiya today: First, their German 3 ton 4x2 Cargo TruckTruck (35291), known to the rest of us as the "Opel Blitz". Seems like a nice little kit. Also bought some Tamiya putty basic type. Never used their putty before and wanted To give it a try. Not sure why it's labeled as " basic". Do they offer a more sophisticated or "complex" putty for advanced builders? Anyway, working on their M3 Stuart right now and it's a nice kit. I have some aftermarket that'll work for it I might use, but progress on it has been slow......will post some pics later.
  10. Was thinking about buying one of those myself. Cool! Trumpeter makes a lot of interesting Russian stuff!
  11. Another product from ABER came today; this time their #35 L-40 Russian 152.4 mm ML-20S Barrel for ISU-152. Although meant for the Italeri & Zvezda kits, I'm going to use it on my Tamiya JSU-152 kit. I read a review on the Perth Military Modelling site that it can be used on the Tamiya kit by gluing three .5mm (.020) strips of styrene on the stub-end of the barrel to shim so that it fits the Tamiya part. I'm glad to hear this as the ABER parts look great, especially the brass muzzle-brake. I bought some some styrene strips today. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com
  12. Just had a look, amazing stuff! Thanks for the link.
  13. Didn't know about that version. The kit I ordered yesterday doesn't have the photo-etch but does have the window masks and styrene windows. It's kit 1/35 #35291 I know Aber sells a photo-etch set separately, I looked it over. It's very complex, including more details than I thought possible! I think you better hang on to your Opel kit its probably a collectors item. I once saw a boxing of Tamiya's t55 that included an Aber barrel and Friulmodel tracks, but I haven't seen this anywhere for awhile... It was on Hobbylinc Japan, I think.
  14. Man! You move fast John! Again, as to be expected, very nice work!
  15. Got this recently: From Archer fine transfers ,their AR35291 Open Blitz instruments, placards and details. For the Tamiya kit. Not sure if Archer still makes this, as I couldn't find it on their website. Mine was found on EBAY. The set includes some dry transfers for the instruments, that you can apply to the included wet transfer paper. Then, you can use them like ordinary decals....interesting. Also included are printed resin details on a decal carrier film. These include the "Opel Blitz" badge for the radiator grill, markings for gas drums, jack, and some raised lettering on the rear axle. A neat set. As you may know, Tamiya, in their most recent tooling (2008) of this vehicle, does not include the very prominent radiator badge in their kit. Providing instead a blank badge. In fact, Tamiya does not even refer to the vehicle as an Opel Blitz on the box.... It's a German 3 ton truck to them. Probably a licensing thing.......legal B.S. or something. Anyway, I'm sure I'll come in useful when building the kit......A kit that I don't have yet.
  16. Judging by their Helldiver, I'm not sure I'd buy anything by Infinity. Yes, I'd prefer this kit in 1/32 but I would definitely not buy it in 1/72 scale! I was recently on a online store looking at items by IBG. I was frustrated by the fact that many of their more interesting armor subjects were offered only in 1/72 scale! Who builds 1/72 scale armor! What am I going to do with tanks in that scale? Wear them on a charm bracelet?
  17. Agree. Especially since it's a subject that hasn't been done to death! I would like to see more Japanese subjects including early or inter-war stuff. The scale doesn't bother me so much as I don't have many other aircraft to display it with.....it wouldn't look out of place! But ,then again, I Did build a 1/18 V1 flying bomb!
  18. This came today for my Tamiya Jagdtiger: From ABER, it's their 35L-84 German 128mm PaK 44 L/55 gun barrel for Sd. Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger. The kit barrel is molded in two pieces and the thought of filling and sanding these seams didn't appeal to me. Aber machines the barrel in two parts that screw together and the parts fit together perfectly. Good quality stuff from ABER.
  19. I think the problem in my case was with a bad employee, or perhaps employees. Two of the failed delivery "attempts" where on Friday afternoons at about 5 pm, the other on a Saturday, also at about the same time. Deliveries made during the morning hours and not on weekends are successful for some reason. Anyway, I'm going to avoid UPS, and if not possible, have my UPS packages delivered at my Mother's home which is nearby. She lives in a gated community and UPS seems to have some sort of arrangement there. The deliveries are more reliable there. I've never had problems with the postal service, or lately with FEDEX, or Amazon, so that won't change. Only heavy packages shipped UPS scheduled delivery on weekend afternoons.....lazy b*stards!
  20. Can't you see it? It's behind the rabbit....to the left a bit.
  21. Glad to see it's resolved.
  22. That's strange, I added a picture today and yesterday without any problems.
  23. On my tablet, I just click on add files and I'm given a choice where to get the pictures from. I go to files, click on image I want , actually the text next to the image and it automatically loads on the site.
