  1. Again, another one from Tamiya; This kit is getting hard to find in stock, so when I saw it on the Burbank's House of Hobbies site I bought it right away. It's Tamiya's Marder III M "Normandy Front" (35364). Another Marder based on the 38(t) chassis. Another nice little kit of a small vehicle. This time using a PAK 40 gun. I also have the Aber barrel for this one. (35 L-05n). I'm still waiting for my stuff from Hobby easy to come, but this will probably be last Of my Tamiya run for awhile, there's a big 1/16 Sherman I'm going to save for. Also A Takom jeep in 1/16 I'd like.
  2. Great job on the camouflage! The work you put into preparing the masks was well worth it!
  3. I have a stash of silly putty I bought for that purpose! I bought it before I knew the AK product existed. I've had it for a few years now.......I wonder, does Silly Putty go bad?
  4. I spent the early hours hand painting the tires of a Stuart tank.....and I thought that was a chore! But Holy Cow! What kind of a trailer is that?
  5. Interesting. I didn't know the 108 had folding wings!
  6. Good work John on another one of my favorites! I remember seeing an account of an incident during the war of one of these planes being jumped by I believe Three Zeros. The SBD shot down one of these planes and if I remember correctly rammed another. Anyway, the SBD managed to survive the encounter. I think the program was the History Channel's Dog fights. Keep up the good work, I'll be watching! That's a kit I'd love to build, by the way.
  7. Always thought foiling a model would be cool and was an interesting process. Glad to see you're taking this project on and your progress has been great so far. Will be following!
  8. Item has completed customs clearance!
  9. Sad news. I always preferred the original series and will always watch an episode when I see its on tv......even though I've seen every episode about a thousand times.
  10. Just about every summer, we get a story on the local (Chicago) news about someone finding a bat on their driveway with a warning about rabies and the like. It seems ludicrous as there is a greater likelihood of being shot in Chicago than getting rabies from a bat! Especially considering the mayor, Lori Lightfoot presides over one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. (if not the WORLD) and her relationship with the police of that city is not in the least bit cooperative!
  11. Around here bats are said to carry rabies! Best not to handle them. Anyway, cool to see.
  12. An update: My Hobbyeasy order has landed in the U.S.. Although it's kind of a minor order, I'm pleased it is on its way. Using Parcelsapp.com Global Tracking.
  13. Some great stuff there! I have the other CSM kit of their Lancia. They are great kits!
  14. 😙Today my package came from Burbank's House of Hobbies. It contained two items: First, another one from Tamiya; their German Tank Destroyer Marder III. Sd.Kfz.139 7.62cm Pak 36 (r) and Gw.38(t). This was the Panzer 38(t) chassis with A captured Soviet F-22 1936 gun mounted on it. The Germans, however made a bunch of modifications to the gun first; They re-chambered the gun, modified its recoil system, relocated the elevation contols, changed the sight, and added a muzzle brake. They then called it the FK 296 (R). I've been thinking about buying this kit for some time. I liked its odd looks and history. The kit Is like the Panzer 38(t) I built recently..... With the exception of the tracks which are of the "rubberband" type, but really, they look pretty good. I also bought an Aber barrel for the kit; their Barrel for German Tank Destroyer Sd.Kfz.139 Marder III 7.62mm Pak 36 (R).
  15. Sad to hear. Leave it to Beaver was a great family show from an era that didn't have shows like today's shows that feature vulgarity, stupidly, "political correctness" and other progressive trash. The shows of that era entertained, while also sometimes giving a moral lesson. Tony will be missed.
  16. Had a look here. https://www.fantasyprintshop.co.uk
  17. That digital camo scheme, while admittedly hurting my elderly eyes, looks terrific!. I mean Wow!. Really a great job ! Well done!
  18. Any words/opinions on this outfit? Placed an order with them last week.....no progress! WTH! Order hasn't been "pulled from warehouse" or shipped..... Nothing! Still "processing". They have my money.....Great! We'll take our time....Sprue brothers, Burbanks, and Tower Hobbies ship the same day! 5 days......nothing! Really, honestly, I've had no ( big) problems with them in the past.....but seriously? This is Kitlinx territory! Forgive me... But I needed to vent! ...... I feel better now!
  19. A next day delivery from nearby Tower Hobbies came this afternoon: It's Tamiya's German Self-Propelled Howitzer Wespe "Italian Front". (35358) This is a 2018 re-release of a 1996 kit with new parts added. New parts include build-up tracks molded in lengths, two link, and three link sections. They are nicely,....almost delicately molded . They feature realistic sag, and they look great! Also new is a set of figures with accessories on a 2018 marked sprue. The barrel is molded in halves, and I may order an Aber replacement. The Aber barrel requires cutting the breach end and other parts off the kit barrel. The kit barrel is short, so I don't think the seam will be much trouble to deal with anyway. This is a small kit of a small vehicle, being based on the Panzer 2 chassis. I think It will be a nice build. Update: added a pic of one of the new track sprues.
  20. Just got an email from them with tracking info and a message to expect shipping to take 16 to 23 days.
  21. Thanks all, mostly just feeling a bit older.
