  1. I recently recall finding a colony of these living under my bed; however, my memories of this event.......are somewhat cloudy.
  2. A change from my usual large-scale purchases is this 1/35 Meng A7v ww 1 tank. I remember trying to buy this kit in the past without much luck; everywhere I looked it was sold out. Well, I found this on the Sprue Brothers website. I always wanted to build this somewhat silly - looking, boxy, German, monstrosity of a tank. I remember buying a model ( I think the kit was by Tauro) of this tank years ago and never finishing it. Anyway, this kit looks very good and it even has a complete interior and working tracks. I can't help thinking that this tank reminds me of a two slice toaster.
  3. I contacted Sprue Brothers and they promptly sent me the missing track links. Problem resolved. S.B. was a pleasure to deal with.
  4. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Get well soon!
  5. Wow! I just got this kit on Tuesday and and examining the parts and instructions, it looks like a a great kit! Molding and details look first rate. There is some instructional steps that could be a little clearer but they're easily figured out. There is a lot of inside the turret Detail that will allow hatches open display ; including the gun, periscopes, radio, and etc. Too bad not much driver's position detail however. Expecting a lot of fun building this one. One thing; I never realized what a chunky little beast the M5 Stuart was! I just love 1/16 scale! I think a 1/16 Lee or grant would be mindblowing! Paul

  6. I just went over the parts of a Classy hobby panzer II "Luchs" kit I purchased a while back and found I was missing at least 20 of the track links of the 208 links that are supposed to be included with the kit. After panicking, cursing, and lamenting my fate, I decided to contact my vendor (Sprue Brothers) by e-mail and asking if they could provide The missing track links. I haven't heard from them yet but, I assume this is the right course of action. Has this happened to any of my fellow forum members? I even offered to pay For the missing parts. I know, stupid probably, but I just want to be able to finish the kit. I just want to hear some feedback regarding other's experience regarding this type of situation. Can I expect satisfaction or not? Paul
  7. 1/72 is way too small unless your making the Spruce Goose.
  8. I just got another big-scale tank in 1/16. This time a Stuart M5 from Classy Hobby. Although a small tank, this box is packed tight with plastic. After a quick look inside, I had a heck of a time getting the box closed again. Looks like a great kit.
  9. I have the kindle oasis and I love it. Most,if not all of my book purchases are e books. I have an Amazon prime account and many of the books I get are included free with The prime membership.
  10. I also read Sakai's book and I just purchased The First and the last after seeing your post. It looks like a good read.
  11. Looking formidable there Harv! Merry Christmas!
  12. Great work on the Stug! Is it me....or has there been a lot of interest in Stugs lately? At least 3 big-scale stug releases lately.. and recently, on The modeling news website, A 1/35 full interior Stug was featured. It looks fantastic. Anyway, thanks for posting your work. I can't wait to work on mine, but I have the big Trumpeter T-72 to finish, which frankly, I've lost some enthusiasm for. I've just purchased the Classy Hobby driver and commander figures in 1/16 scale. These are sold out on most websites and I had trouble finding them. They look good, but my figure painting skills,....on faces in particular, not the greatest. Anyway, carry on with your stug project. Stugs forever!
  13. Nice work! I feel your pain regarding the tracks, I just finished working on the tracks on my big Trumpeter T 72 project. It took me a few days of sanding and filing each Link to do each side, 95 links per side. Anyway, I just purchased the big Stug from Das Werk. I'll be watching your build.
  14. Wow this is a great build of a very cool subject. Your work is outstanding!
  15. This actually has a partial interior and is a new release
  16. Just picked up this large-scale Stug from Das Werk in 1/16. I noticed that also has the Takom label on it being some sort of joint venture. Looks like a good one.
  17. What is the project you need the plans for? A scratch built t 37? Tell us more about your project. Creek-creek, Creek-creek, Creek-creek, Creek-creek!
  18. This is Mikey, our family's beloved poodle and companion for 18 years. Always an entertaining little fellow; loyal and loving towards all, especially my mother. Sadly, earlier this year, his health declined. First developing cataracts in both eyes leaving him blind then losing his hearing he became helpless and began wasting away. It was then, this past May ,that we were forced to make the dreaded decision to have him put down. We all miss him very much. Here is a picture taken back in 2013.
  19. Currently reading this...........
  20. Great rust effects! Well done.
  21. I haven't had problems with this site but on another site that I use for reference photos it takes forever. It wasn't like that a week ago.
  22. This is cool! I love these big scale tanks.
  23. No, not stressful, just tedious and mindlessly repetitive. Actually, if You just pin the tracks together as is, they are tight and can posed as you need but don't expect the tank to roll. You really can't see any track sag as the molded -in side skirts prevent viewing of the upper part of the tracks. I've see photos of these tanks without the side skirts however.
  24. I've been thinking about how I'm going to paint this thing. Years ago when I built my big Tamiya tanks I used a spray can. Now I don't know if I've even have enough paint to cover this thing! I like the big 1/16 tanks and I have a stash of them and will probably buy another this week. Because this tank has the side skirts molded in, I'll probably paint the Turret, upper, and lower hulls separately then assemble the three parts.
