  1. That's right, I've started another Takom Renault ft. working on the engine right now.
  2. Has anyone used a laser printer to make their own decals? I see there is laser printer specific water-slide decal printer paper available that requires no spraying of a gloss coat after printing. any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I just got this Meng kit. It's their 1/35 scale Char 2 c model of a huge inter-war French tank. looks like it will be a nice build. A quick perusal of the kits part shows excellent molding and details.
  4. I picked up one of Miniart's 1/35 Focke-Wulf Triebflugels . I plan to make up my own paint scheme and markings.
  5. I bought myself some nippers. The Trumpeter single blade cutter. I read the comments about these on this forum and ordered them straight away.
  6. That wildcat firewall is from Master Details. It is listed as out of stock. I emailed the manufacturer to see if it will be available in the future. I'll let you know if they answer. https://masterdetails.com/grumman-f4f-3-4-wildcat-wheel-well-improvement/
  7. Certainly, I will.
  8. Oh, I think I'll eventually build one of my Trumpeter wildcats, maybe both. I hear someone sells a resin replacement firewall for this kit that solves some of the issues with the kit. I forget who makes it now. I looked it up a while back and, of course ,in common with all things I'm interested in buying, it was out of stock.
  9. Hope to see your build soon. Anyway, this is one of three aircraft models in my stash. I have two Trumpeter wildcats, but I've heard these aren't the greatest kits. Years ago I built the 1/32 scale Revell wildcat and I'm certain that the Trumpeter kits might be better. I will probably buy the ICM versions of the Polikarpov I-16 in 1/32 scale and I would like to build the Special Hobby Brewster Buffalo in 1/32 scale. You might notice a trend here---- I like stubby, or otherwise barrel-shaped aircraft.
  10. No rails, but trumpeter rails will work
  11. Also picked up a nice little kit from ICM......
  12. I just picked up this model product from Thunder model; it's in 1/35 scale and is,for me, a subject matter for a kit I've never tried before. Or even thought of making. A railroad boxcar! Anyway, it looks like a pretty good kit. I was surprised by how well it was package and the quality of the molding. It looks like it may, for me, be challenging build. The subject might even be considered a little controversial for some. It's a model of a German Gedeckter Gutterwagen Gr 15t ww2 boxcar.
  13. : Yes, I can see that there are a lot of variations in markings. it's part of the fun of this kind of "what if" kit. I saw somewhere, a Japanese version. I think that would be cool to build. Anyway, I think you have done a fine job so far. thanks for sharing your work.
  14. It's really looking great. I've enjoyed watching this build. I would like to build one of these kits myself---I've even downloaded the instructions from the Miniart site for perusal.
  15. looks like a well-engineered kit,and a fun build. I'll be watching.
  16. That seems to be in common with most sites out there.
  17. I got an email from them this morning stating that my order has been processed. I placed the order yesterday. Let's hope things will be ok.
  18. Oh great, another Hobby Models type experience in my future. well, thanks for the heads up. I don't even see an email given for them. Oh well.....heck!
  19. Actually, almost coincidentally, I remember recently viewing this book while browsing books on my kindle account. In fact, it's still in my browsing history!. I also now remember mentioning to my mother at the time. Talk about a small world! Thanks anyway. I'm glad you brought it up or else I would have forgotten. Thanks again; Paul the Belugawhaleman.
  20. Thanks for the link. I just downloaded the book.
  21. Sounds like an interesting read. I'll look for that one.
  22. Truthfully, my last modeling effort wasn't that rewarding. Thankfully, I still have reading. For me, reading is among the most rewarding of my pastimes. My kindle Oasis is the best gift I have ever been given. The past year was difficult to survive. Reading helped. Haven't heard Ghost riders in the sky in years. Nelson & Cash---good stuff! pull me through.
  23. Yes, but the outfit seems to have branches in France,Denmark, the UK,and etc. the website I ordered from has a Chicago area phone number as a contact. It's weird, I hope I haven't made a mistake. .
