Whirlwind done
Peterpools replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
John WOW, absolutely a stellar build - just beautifully done. 🏆🏆🏆 You conquered all the areas that killed my build and wound up being binned. I must have missed it but how did you repair the canopy? Did SH replace it? -
Scott Same here and we have been so hot and wet here on the Island, summer has been a misery for sure.
-
Scott, congratulations ... she is beautiful.
-
Yup, it's a Buff.

Here on Long Island, we've had a few more bad air quality days from the Canadian wildfires smoke but nothing as bad as the first few days of orange, choaking smoke a few weeks ago, for us old folk. Instead, we've been under terrible heat, oppressive humidity, severe thunderstorms with horrendous rain - just a wonderful summer. JUst not our normal summer weather. Gee, I can't wait for the winter and snow. ⛄

John These days and at our age, avoiding high cuss factor models should be mandatory.
-
John Hoping you sail right though it and the difficulties I encountered where my own doings.

Kriss Looking so good -

Oliver Looking so good - just love your style of weathering - it brings out the best of the build/details.
-
John You're sailing through the Whirlwind - looking mighty good.
-
Mark Great idea for a mojo builder: OOB Armor. You're off to a nice start and in cruise mode which is perfect.

Mike I only wish but being a senior and two cars already, as wonderful and understanding as my wife is, preserving the peace takes precedence. 😉 -
Dennis, same here 😉

John talk about a speed build - incredible. Looking so good.

Kev Right with Rob, one beautiful build. Yup, your build surely has my 48th scale build juices flowing, as I have a number of both Eduard and Tamiya kits in the stash and right after I finish the T Bird, they will be hitting the bench. Just want to freshen up one of your images in Photoshop and Lightroom, so we can all enjoy the true colors and craftsmanship. -

Kev Awesome build and checking out the Finished pics. Holy smokles, N of 300 in the stash - just makes it even harder to decide on the next build for sure. -
Scott Nice work on the decals - they are looking real good and proof positive, you're on the final stretch to cross the finish line. I know how you feel about wearing gloves as it is a real pain but for me, it's my best offense. against fingerprints once I reached the painting stages. Sometime, more and more these days, I'll just use a microfiber cloth to pick up and handle a model when decaling and adding the finishing parts, repositioning it in a model stand. And of course, there are times I just plain old forget. 😉

Thanks Mark Getting there slowly but surely. Finally, very close to the painting stages as I've finished cleaning and prepping all the parts. -

Always the burning - what's the next build ❓ -
John Nice work on the front ... looks mighty good and completely agree about how poor SH instructions are.
-
Scott Not sure either and I've been pretty lucky and only a few times over the years, needed to deal with fingerprints in the painting stage. I always try to wear gloves (latex and when decaling cotton) to help prevent fingerprints. A few times, I've rushed it, forgot the gloves and yup, paid the price.
