Rob Awesome progress and completely agree about Tamiya Black Gloss Lacquer as the perfect base for the NM Metallics. Looking just perfect. -
John Great choice for sure and completely agree it surely will be an eye catcher. It's the KH kit?

Carl Nice start on the figures and I'm right with your and Rob on Tamiya lacquers - one of the best paints out there. -

Thanks Rob Contests are just another way to share and enjoy the hobby. My brother and I often wondered how we would do at our age in competition, not to mention how vastly the hobby has also changed in the near 40 years we haven't competed. Finding an IPMS competition here on the Island isn't easy and neither of us wanted to drive to New Jersey or upstate. So this is the perfect opportunity. Win, lose or draw, will be a fun day, seeing all the builds up close and personal and visiting the venders. -

Gaz Weathering does look so good and sometimes the unplanned effects work out just fine as it does here. The sanding for highlighting the rivets worked perfectly. No reason not to relax, watch tv and relax - there isn't a deadline to finish. I actually started watching the Womans World Cup Soccer and learning as the game progressed. Nice for a USA win. ⚽ -

Carl The figures look so good in their new home and trying to resolve the seat issue doesn't seem like a lot of fun. It's always something. -

Rob OMG, the Turbo V6 looks spectacular and is sure a gem. -
Has anyone heard or ordered from them? I'm thinking of building the Border 1/35 FW 190 and they seem to be the only game in town making masks for the kit. before I buy and start on the kit, I wanted to have the mask set in house and ready to go.

Hi Jeff I've started the paint work but haven't gotten far as my wife and I have what seems like an endless stream of doctor appointments that need to be taken care of. Just so much fun getting old. My brother and I many decades ago where very heavily involved in IPMS and all the yearly competitions for many years and well over three decades ago, we decided enough and pursued other hobbies. Since being back into modeling for the past 10 plus years, all my work has been displayed on either LSM or LSP. In March of 2024, the IPMS regional Competition is going to be held here on Long Island and we decided not only to go, but to enter the competition. Nothing I've built was done to 'contest standards' and we decided to stop what we have been working on, pack up everything, clear the bench and get to work building two contest models. So, for now, until my entries are completed, all my present builds are on hold. -
John Absolutely a stellar build - one tough kit and you handled it perfectly.

John WOW, absolutely a stellar build - just beautifully done. 🏆🏆🏆 You conquered all the areas that killed my build and wound up being binned. I must have missed it but how did you repair the canopy? Did SH replace it? -
Scott Same here and we have been so hot and wet here on the Island, summer has been a misery for sure.
-
Scott, congratulations ... she is beautiful.

Yup, it's a Buff.

Here on Long Island, we've had a few more bad air quality days from the Canadian wildfires smoke but nothing as bad as the first few days of orange, choaking smoke a few weeks ago, for us old folk. Instead, we've been under terrible heat, oppressive humidity, severe thunderstorms with horrendous rain - just a wonderful summer. JUst not our normal summer weather. Gee, I can't wait for the winter and snow. ⛄
-
John These days and at our age, avoiding high cuss factor models should be mandatory.
-
John Hoping you sail right though it and the difficulties I encountered where my own doings.
