Gaz Not quite sure. Is it the existing rivets are raised and the ones you just did are punched? -

Chris and Scott Thanks Guys, I think I now have enough great ideas to build the vent the right way and keep it portable, so it's only in the window when the booth is in use. When I'm done (in a week or so) I'll post a few photos. -

Chris When I was using the Artograph 1530 in my old studio, I actually just pushed the exhaust stubs right up against the window screen. After the renovation and moving into my new studio and being so much more aware of the health issues, I wanted to vent directly out the window. I think you way will work for me and this weekend, I'll hit HD and buy the flexible dryer vent hose. See how it goes -
Carl Nice find and a great deal on Tamiya's latest kits. Glossed the P-40 today and for the first time I used Tamiya's Clear Gloss Lacquer LP-9 instead of Mr Color Clear Gloss #46 and I was very impressed with the results. Right now I would call it a draw between the two clear gloss lacquers What's your thoughts comparing the two clears? I see you bought a bottle of Tamiya Pearl Clear - is this a semi gloss finish - never heard of it before?

John Awesome for sure and the Quinta cockpit set is remarkable to say the least.

Ernie Very well one of the major issues I've been having these past few years and am taking a good, hard look how I approach building. My new approach: slowing down, trying a lot harder to understand what the manufacture wants us to do and then spend the time working out a solution. Blaming poor instructions surely doesn't get the kit built or cut the mustard. The POA should be: if others have built it, so can I.

Ernie As always, I can't thank you enough for all you do to make LSM a home to share our hobby and passion with. Your generosity and devotion are so greatly appreciated beyond what I can say. When I saw the list of Raffle Winners and the Borders Lancaster was next to my name, I knew Lady Luck was riding with me, truly an amazing gift. I just can't thank you enough for including the Lanc in the raffle. I've never won such a spectacular prize and decided to devote this coming year to building the Lanc and a few of her Friends: Border Lancaster Kotare Spitfire Revell Spitfire MkII Revell Hurricane MkII Surely looks like it's going to be an WWII RAF year. I'll be buying the paints by the gallon, loads of AM and adding a new shelf to my display case. Wishing Ernie and all my friends the very a Merry Christmas

Mark Perfecto! Awesome work -
Kriss Brilliant detail and paint work. Following front row all the way.

Harv John normally has all the basic pre - building painting done and is underway building in the time it takes us to open the box and read through the instructions just once and look for the parts in step one. 😉

Oliver Just blown away as always - just find the level and perfection of your scratch building keeps raising the bar. I'm in the leave the mesh off camp and place it on the side in the dio, as covering up any of your detailing would be a modeling crime of the greatest proportions.

Chris Nice paint station organization - everything is where it should be. I still haven't set up my 1530 Artogragh Spray Booth and am using a small portable unit I bought from Micro Mart. What's holding me back is the dual venting/ducting. How did you hook up yours? I have to remove the ducting from the window when done and still haven't figured out a good system. Sure wish the spray booth would have come with the ducting but it didn't. I'm guessing from the phots, you have a 1530 Artograph dual motor setup as well. One thing that is a point of constant aggravation is the pressure gauge that comes with almost every compressor, is too darn small to read clearly. -

Thank Chris No, I bought them from I think Esty and they were about $22 each back then. Wouldn't be hard to make then but so much easier to buy then as a kit. -

Chris Same here, nothing like neat, clean organization when starting a project. As I go through each major phase of a build, I'll stop, clean up before moving on to the next stage. I just feel more comfortable working this way. I remember when I learned to fly, one of the preflight lessons was learning to fold and prepare your maps and charts for easy access in the correct order, so you wouldn't be fumbling looking for the needed one and not concentrating on actually flying or looking out of the plane for other traffic. Yup, I learned to fly in an age before cellphones and iPads, used Sectionals and WAC charts. Yes, the world has changed and electronics surely has helped with cockpit management. Just habits I've become very use to and never seemed to have changed. Now if I could only actually remember where I put things - that's the challenge these days. -

Thanks Kev So now I know my problem ... neatness and knowing where things should be. But being 75, I sometimes forget what I'm looking for and having everything in front of me, gives me a fighting chance of remembering what I'm looking for. 😉 -

Just a quick pic of my work bench. Tool cabinet draws of extra paint, tools and assorted what nots that I can never remember what's in what draw and spray booth are in other parts of my studio. But here is where I spend the majority of my time. Room light are 5000K LED High Hats. Just can't have enough light these days. -

Chris Now that's what a workbench should look like. It's going to be a shame to mess it up building your GB entry. -
Hubert Way to long - How about 12:01 on 12/26/22 - this way John can have Christmas Day off.

James Welcome on board. Yup, cold isn't the word for the weather outside. But it's a great reason for us modelers to find extra bench time -

John Flawless build - your paint and finish work on the Mustang is simply gorgeous and flawless. Another beauty for thew collection. -
Hubert Agreed and there should also be a strict time limit as well. 😉
