  1. Wishing all my Friends on the Forum a very Happy and Merry Christmas.
  2. Kriss Brilliant detail and paint work. Following front row all the way.
  3. Harv John normally has all the basic pre - building painting done and is underway building in the time it takes us to open the box and read through the instructions just once and look for the parts in step one. 😉
  4. Oliver Just blown away as always - just find the level and perfection of your scratch building keeps raising the bar. I'm in the leave the mesh off camp and place it on the side in the dio, as covering up any of your detailing would be a modeling crime of the greatest proportions.
  5. Chris Nice paint station organization - everything is where it should be. I still haven't set up my 1530 Artogragh Spray Booth and am using a small portable unit I bought from Micro Mart. What's holding me back is the dual venting/ducting. How did you hook up yours? I have to remove the ducting from the window when done and still haven't figured out a good system. Sure wish the spray booth would have come with the ducting but it didn't. I'm guessing from the phots, you have a 1530 Artograph dual motor setup as well. One thing that is a point of constant aggravation is the pressure gauge that comes with almost every compressor, is too darn small to read clearly.
  6. Thank Chris No, I bought them from I think Esty and they were about $22 each back then. Wouldn't be hard to make then but so much easier to buy then as a kit.
  7. Chris Same here, nothing like neat, clean organization when starting a project. As I go through each major phase of a build, I'll stop, clean up before moving on to the next stage. I just feel more comfortable working this way. I remember when I learned to fly, one of the preflight lessons was learning to fold and prepare your maps and charts for easy access in the correct order, so you wouldn't be fumbling looking for the needed one and not concentrating on actually flying or looking out of the plane for other traffic. Yup, I learned to fly in an age before cellphones and iPads, used Sectionals and WAC charts. Yes, the world has changed and electronics surely has helped with cockpit management. Just habits I've become very use to and never seemed to have changed. Now if I could only actually remember where I put things - that's the challenge these days.
  8. Thanks Kev So now I know my problem ... neatness and knowing where things should be. But being 75, I sometimes forget what I'm looking for and having everything in front of me, gives me a fighting chance of remembering what I'm looking for. 😉
  9. Just a quick pic of my work bench. Tool cabinet draws of extra paint, tools and assorted what nots that I can never remember what's in what draw and spray booth are in other parts of my studio. But here is where I spend the majority of my time. Room light are 5000K LED High Hats. Just can't have enough light these days.
  10. Chris Now that's what a workbench should look like. It's going to be a shame to mess it up building your GB entry.
  11. Hubert Way to long - How about 12:01 on 12/26/22 - this way John can have Christmas Day off.
  12. James Welcome on board. Yup, cold isn't the word for the weather outside. But it's a great reason for us modelers to find extra bench time
  13. John Flawless build - your paint and finish work on the Mustang is simply gorgeous and flawless. Another beauty for thew collection.
  14. Hubert Agreed and there should also be a strict time limit as well. 😉
  15. Mike Nice work on the cammo - looking mighty good- a long journey for sure.
  16. Sounds good John. Just always the case - a missing part at the worst time and Tamiya, whose customer service is excellent, is closed for inventory. Fingers crossed one of the guys has the part.
  17. John Nice start on the Birdcage. I looked through my meager parts box and haven't the part. Always room for another Corsair. Any idea of what the paint scheme is going to be yet?
  18. It's 19 F here and getting a lot colder tonight. Gaz .. AC ... now that sounds awesome
  19. Harv Nice work and twice as difficult for us old folk in just seeing the parts in the first place.
  20. Thanks guys .. always something to deal with weather wise.
  21. Carl Sure sounds mighty cold and our expected wind chill tonight and tomorrow will be below zero and that's way too cold for Long Island. These are the records no one wants to set ❄️❄️☃️
