  1. Kev Glad you drove by and hoped the AC in the car was going full blast. Should have stopped and we could have done some hanger flying.
  2. John Awesome save .. and just proves that a break in a project to regroup the troops is the way to go.
  3. Rob for the Thank you for the AWESOME update! I wonder if SH might also be tinkering with a traditional J3 with the teardrop shape rear window and no plexiglass over the cockpit area. Either way I'm fine with the kit and the CMK upgrades and can't wait.
  4. Rob Just saw a CAD drawing from CMK for a 65 HP Continental engine for the L4. Things are looking really good.
  5. Ernie Took the plunge and ordered some AK Real Color lacquers and will be using them on my Spit, as I wasn't at all happy with the Mig colors. .
  6. Rob So glad you're making progress on your home renovation. Having gone through the same since late December and taking many more months to complete, I know exactly what you are going through. Unfortunately, it seems never ending and at some point, a line needs to be drawn in the and as where to stop adding additional projects. Finally, the DOK is back on the Bench, making headway and updates will be coming - I surely need my fix. The Gentlemen Pellew and Hornblower are going to be a nice sub-project to follow and no question they will see to it work continues at a steady pace.
  7. Thanks Carl When I saw it was Brian who said he heard this from a very reliable source and from what I remember, Brian isn't one to speculate on rumors and from other responses as well, it was a true. Just glad Radu jumped in and put the 'rumor' to rest. If Tamiya ever dropped out of the hobby paint business, the hobby would have already ceased to exist. 🙃
  8. Kent Very much appreciate the kind comments on my Spitfire build. I'm so glad I helped stir the mojo juices and your Spitfire isd back on the bench and underway again. Just followed the link to your Spit build and Holy Cow, the detailing and build is first class and wonderfully done. I'm looking forward to following your progress.
  9. Bill, thanks for the correction, so the wing tips are movable (toy like), just positionable and that's perfect for me.
  10. Phil I'm in complete agreement with Gaz, Carl and yourself. I was under the assumption the kit was close to being released, which did mean ZM already invested a lot of resources into the project. Could be the changes in the market and costs, will just make the kit too expensive; I haven't a clue. I was just surfing sites looking for IPMS convention news and came across this post. Believe me, I'll be first in line to buy the ZM FW190 if it becomes available. I did jump over to their ZM website and there isn't anything new about the kit at all.
  11. Completely agree and I hope what I read on LSP was just a rumor and nothing more. Might also just be the cost of producing kits to that level today as compared to the past kits, is just too high and they might fear sales will suffer.
  12. ZM latest "Confirmed Rumor" which I read on LSP; the much anticipated FW190 project is being discontinued and will not be produced. The reason given is the chief designer is no longer with ZM and the model is too complicated to be produced to their standards. The first part of the rumor is most likely true but the second part I don't buy at all. ZM's past achievements in producing highly detailed and complicated models, demonstrates their incredible talents and I cannot see how the FW 190 is any more complicated. Yes, the amount of engineering and development time might be too costly in today's environment but surely not beyond their engineering expertise. I have been waiting for their 190 since it was announced years ago and hope the kit is produced.
  13. Kev To me it's the looks that count the most and she is looking mighty good.
  14. Rob Awesome and you're so right, no way can I resist
  15. Ernie How would you compare AK Lacquers to MRP Lacquers? I'm a huge fan of MRP lacquers and shoot them straight from the bottle with no thinning needed at all. I also use a lot of Mr Color Lacquers and the only drawback in using them, is they need a lot of thinning and being on the lazy side, MRP lacquers removes that one step.
  16. Kev Looking mighty good and she sure is a beauty.
  17. Daz Love to trade our heat and humidity for your chilly and wet weather for a good while.
  18. Happy Birthday Paul, enjoy your special day
  19. The Modeling News today: Kinetic Gold Series new mold 1/48 F-16C Block 25/42
  20. John Amazing progress and looking so good.
  21. Gaz Awesome diorama and all in only twenty days. Just seems we were sitting with you at the bench as each part of the diorama was built. For me, one key element of a successful diorama is the story and no question as to what the story is. Beautiful work and the snow looks cold and realistic. A tease as we're in the midst of a record heat wave here on the island.
  22. Ernie Holy Smokes, another Infinity Helldiver on the bench and underway. That's some list of upgrades and going to be a gem of a build to follow and enjoy. Nice start on the front office sidewalls and the engine. I'll be front and center for the journey
  23. Jerry Super work on the Revell Eagle and glad you decided to give her one last go. Completely agree with you and John with kit selection.
