Thanks Jeff -
Thanks Gaz, very much appreciated. You should try water at least if you make a mistake you let it dry and brush it off or part of it. I was contemplating using varnish or similar but that’s pretty permanent....

Thanks Rowdy, hope I can do it justice...... -
Hopefully I do not hear the cry “not another” Mustang......... So I hopefully present the Zoukei-Mura P51D Mustang SWS No 4. This has been my only bargain on eBay, all of this for £83.00 ($110), that’s probably half price ....... Weighted wheels Propeller attachment derrick and crew Oil change crew PE gunbay PE interior Brass 0.5 armament and pitot’s The irony of it the prop attachment sent wasn’t listed so big surprise there. So a healthy tranche of AM and PE but horrors of horrors four figures to paint........ Also have the Mustang IV in the stash so thinking have one fully open and cowls off etc and the other buttoned up.....hopefully you’ll join me for this odyssey.....

Carl, sorry to hear that, it’s so difficult in telling them when it’s time, all I said to mine was don’t wait until you injure someone else....... -
Thanks Rob, appreciated, that’s exactly the look I was after. The good thing about using water is you can go mad in adding the the pigment allow to dry and then brush off as required........my figure painting is atrocious but a figure would be good.....

Well the good news is they didn’t reduce the salary by 50% as originally suggested but by only 11%...............still on furlough but not as bad as I thought........now to get some project work and the COVID numbers to reduce and we off to the races........ -
So calling this complete....... The Lee / Grant story is well known but I didn’t realise a Lee had 7 man crew and the Grant a 6 man crew. This will be my second Takom and is well engineered with little to no flash. Starting with the running gear, for each there are 17 components, two of which are the bolts to be shaved off the sprue and positioned. There are six of these so a little consuming but they build up beautifully. The only AM I’m adding is the RB 75mm M2 and 37mm barrels........the dust weathering is Mig Pigments Alcaline Dust literally mixed with water.............hope you guys enjoy.....

Way above my modelling skills, looks beautiful........ -
Gaz, in my opinion you’ve nailed the weathered black, when you remove the canopy mask that’s when it will all sing......intriguing on what sanding you are going to be doing.........

Hubert, I’ve heard good things about the optivisors, thanks Thanks Gus, I bought from Telford a couple of years ago a circular magnifying lense and led light fixture. The only trouble is the housing always gets in the way so head worn magnifiers would be better, thanks I’ll have a look....... -
Have fun and happy thanksgiving.........

Thanks Rob, on the elevators you have decal first but with all the additional work for horns and turnbuckles it’s starting to flake..... the turnbuckles were all of you guys giving excellent advise.......I’ve been thinking about the lenses for awhile, at present I’ve got a LED circular lamp with a magnifying lens in the centre. I already wear glasses so not sure how I’d far with the Tamiya type.......have to try them once lockdown finishes etc........
