GUY ON A BUFFALO - I will be out for a while.
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Martinnfb's topic in General Discussion
Nice work if you can get it. -
Guys, I dunno what to make of all this, it is so embarrassing and "rather naughty!" It's the modern age you see. Yes, modern. What am I to make of this damnable list????? Luftwaffe library essentials. Using shim brass for details. "Too much information gentlemen! 'tis a family site." Wood grain. A how to... I cannot go on, words flail me! Shocking!

Where is Martin? Why are we talking about squirrels??? This place is weird. Its like plastic modellers took over. (And we all know what they're like!) Arms length guys. Arms length. -

2nd Annual LSM Christmas raffle and winners list

My contribution to this year's Saturnalia (really a European thing that has zero relevance to this southern Asiatic continent) so far are these. I know the book may be out of date, but I read it. It may help someone else. There may be more. I am considering the Hasegawa Hellcat with loads of AM. (I Have the Airfix 1/24) but does anyone care? Nice model. A mix of raised and engraved detail... AM includes a cockpit, French markings.. it is actually kind of cool. I simply didn't expect Airfix... Let me know. -
Help needed deciphering Eduard Ju-87 G mask.
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in Hints & Tips
Unsure. I will get into it tomorrow. -
Yes indeed. I have been looking for alternatives but am coming up short. ATM I am just trying to clear my doom shelf and just get them done regardless. Why those pods would differ is beyond me. That is an entire production line in war torn Germany. It was little issues like this that saw me set it aside back in 17. The shelf has become ridiculous.

This may help regarding the canopy.
-
Hi guys. I don't know which is inside or out side. Before using this mask I want to be clear. I have already used Montex masks on the inside of the canopy. The exterior montex masks dont take the framing very seriously. Here is the mask. Here is the canopy. Many thanks.

Put me in please. 1/35 Tank, either Meng or Takom. 1/32 Aircraft modern kit. I may throw in some books. I will go through my stash next Sunday to see what I can manage. -
Hi. I am working on a 1/32 Hasegawa Ju-87 G "Stuka". This is a very nice kit. The shape is nice, the parts fit. Strangley the canopy has the frames on the inside. This is incorrect, although models look okay. However the inside framing will appear glossy due to the clear plastic. We shall see. Very nice kit though.

Is it wrapped in vinyl?????

Do you think this is a good idea?
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Jeff's topic in General Discussion
Gary Householder? Is this the bloke who is supposed to be the guy getting all that spam snail mail I keep getting, "To the Householder"???? No wonder he's wrapping things in Vinyl Householder better realise that ignoring the bills is a bad idea. After a while that stack of unopened letters will turn around and bite! (Don't ask me how I know) -
This is very inspiring. I will join the others watching. I finished a book last night, Heroes of the skies by Michael Veitch. Aircrew on the Halifax seemed very happy with it. Total produced 7176 + 2 protypes. Avro Lancaster total produced 7377. It seems that both bombers are treated by the public with a BoB parallel, the Halifax is the Hurricane, the Lancaster the Spitfire. I would love a well produced 1/48 Halifax, even a 1/72. Good luck with the build.

I'd be happy to pay someone for lessons on weathering and building from modellers of the calibre sen here. -

I am now searching for squirrels on sale as pets in Sydney. If I can't get a squirrel I will get a domesticated rat. I had a rat years ago. Great little animal! I loved my rat. She used to put her nose in my ear and talk to me. I placed a kitty litter in her large cage and she always used it. Over 3 years of her life she never used anything other than her kitty litter when nature called. People often gasp when I tell them about my rat. I explain to my interlocutor that rats are very similar to dogs in their nature. Having lived with 44 dogs over my 55 years, I feel confident to make that comparison. I decided. Squrirrels look a little high maintenance and would likely destroy my models. A rat won't do that. Yay, I'm getting a pet rat! Thanks for this post. -
Soo.... What did you just get???
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Dave J's topic in Modelling Discussion
I don't know. The panel lines and rivets look like Trumpeter. I bought brass 50. Caliber gun barrells. I have time this Sunday. I hope to work on it all day. I do hope the others are alright. I have a deep love for Grumman airframes. I fell in love with them when as a child watching The bridges of Toko Ri on daytime mid-day movies on TV. The panther won my heart. Soon after I saw Midway at the 70's with my grand mother and fell for Wild and Hell cats. I have quite a number of Grumman aircrcraft in my stash. 1/48 & 1/32. -

Yeah mate. Made my day. I am sitting here sanding the leading edges and various joins of many projects from my SoD!! Currently a Bv-141, Aichi D3A1 Val. Also the Stuka. I have Sunday planned for my Dauntless. I am very surprised building this Trumpeter kit. It's really nice. I also have the Bearcat and Wildcat. I hope those are as good as this SBD.
