Spam is great. I have cooked spam in many ways. My favorite was spam vindaloo. I also used spam when i was living with my Korean girlfriend Mi Hi. Spam bugogi and kim chi fried rice with spam is excellent. Spam is like carp and cauliflower; often recipes need creativity. Mmmmmmm, spam!

If you could be a fly on the wall at a moment in human (NOT mythological) history, where would you be? Me, I would like to be at the dinner where Scipio Africanus attended alongside Hannibal Barca. That would have been an interesting dinner.

I learned today that the boy for whom I am building this model has taken to watching YouTube Spitfire builds. His younger sister told me earlier today. Apparently he has become very excited about model aeroplanes. How cool is that! When I give him this I will give him one of my kits with paints glue and some tools. I will give him my Hasegawa 1/32 Hellcat. Now that I have the 1/24 Airfix kit I won't need it.

WDYJG? Mumps. -
Yesterday I had a look through my 1/32 kits. Whilst I have completed a few 1/48 kits I am yet to complete a larger scale. Ideally I want to build one of my Special hobby kits. The fact I may fail led me to look at my more mainstream kits. The Hasegawa Bf-109 F-4 would be ideal. I have 2. Yet do I want to start another 109? The Trumpeter MiG 23 would be fantastic to have on a shelf. So many parts... I have two Hobby boss Sturmoviks, single and twin seater. If anything yesterday I was spoilt for choice. Ultimately I will probably choose between a dauntless, bearcat, Il-2 or Me-262. Perhaps a Yak 3? I think I enjoy modelling more than models. Once complete I usually give them away. What I really want built to keep from amongst my stash.....??? I think what I really want are my 2 Su-25's, Su-34 & Su-24. Spoilt for choice indeed.

Lost my mojo into airplane modelling.

I reckon the main thing is to have fun. Build whatever as long as you enjoy it. -
That's awesome. I got really lucky at 9 years old when I moved in with an aggie pilot. Here I was in love with model aeroplanes only to live with a legendary pilot, Ben Buckley. I was then meeting all kinds of modellers, including this old legend of a bloke building and flying radio controlled planes with no hands. He lost them when a grenade he was holding blew up. I was flying with Ben and he landed on the little airstrip to say hello. I used to sit on his lap when he flew his Pawnee. My first aerobatics experience was in that plane. Ben is still alive. What a guy.

I think it is for me. And it is wonderful! Now I am posting again (with my simple and healthy brain) I wanna build a Big kit!!! Post it here with mates looking on. I have such a huge choice. I basically live in a hobby shop. There's bloody kits all over the joint! What to build??? Ooh ooh ooh, should I build the Trumpeter SBD 3 Dauntless, or perhaps the Trumpeter Bearcat??? Or should it be the Special Hobby Yak?? Ooh ooh hang on! The WnW Junkers D.1??? Hobby boss Sturmovik? I have both single and 2 seater! I am really glad I never grew up. Life as a 55 year old child is loads of fun. I think when I get home later I will surround myself with boxes on the floor and soak up the enchanting smell of cardboard and plastic. What is your stash to you?

Airfix decals. Best affixer?
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
WARNING! Joyous message to follow. I found it I found it!!!!! Okay, so I decided I was being way too hard on Airfix. My fragile and rather dim intelligence was getting in the way. I worked out it was a combination of Japanese products, Tamiya lacquer and paints, so I used the more gentle GSI Mr Mark setter and Mr Mark softer. (Why is everything called Mark?) BINGO!!!!! Works like a charm. The little Spitfire looks ready for battle, Indeed when I step through my door I must beware of strafing attacks! (I think it doesn't like me. (Who'd've figured out it would be a great judge of character????) Thanks for your help. Yours. The village idiot. -
Of course mate. Sorry to give you a hard time. I mean it mainly in jest but without hearing my voice it is hard to decipher. Basically I am laughing ALL the time. I think any opinion of mine is worthless. Except for teaching. I am an expert teacher. Anything else though mate it's me. A moron laughing at himself. There's not enough smiles in the world. We should talk on the phone. When you hear me you will get it.

Airfix decals. Best affixer?

Entry level Mk I. Mind you I am used to high quality decals. On AM sheets. Perhaps I expect too much? -
Airfix decals. Best affixer?
Sir Desmond Glazebrook replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
Me too. It is the Airfix decals at issue. I am now on my second Airfix sheet for the same kit. I had to spend another $20.95. In a word, "Junk!". -
Who did Robert Plant hire to play on his album? Richie Hayward. Little feat drummer, who was one of the greatest drummers of his generation. Ask Tony Levin of King Crimson what he thinks about Richie. BTW, ALL popular western/American music is based on the clave. Heavy metal, funk, RnB, it is ALL the same. Often a person's taste was chosen by another person in the Marketing section of record label. 99 times out of 100. I have been in those meetings. There is no style of music. There is just music.
