  1. That's awesome! My bench is on casters, but it's becoming more and more crowded. I think I should make a second roll-away like yours for more stuff. And I've been thinking about something like this to hand on one end: .... for holding sprues. I'm now building a Dragon kit and it has a few... ahem... sprues.
  2. That's a great story, Jeff. I'm glad to see it. I've have benefited from the generosity of the modelling community and endeavoured to pay it forward, myself.
  3. Nice detail work, Rob. Your springs look good. Gaz
  4. Good luck, Harv!
  5. That intake masking is da-bomb!
  6. I grew up with baseball and have watched a bit of cricket her in Aus. Here is my unsolicited opinion: Pro baseball... sux...takes too long, too much BS. Kids and teens baseball... Fantastic! Test Cricket: Can really suck if the batsman is playing defensively. I don't have three whole days to waste on one thing. 20/20.... great fun!
  7. I thought it was a mechanical pencil! I'd love a file that fine!
  8. I'm tempted by the camel-LVG duellist set. But I can't afford to blow $400 right now. I know I could try to get some money back for the Camel... I just have no desire to try double-rigging.
  9. Great info! I might be able to work something out!
  10. Thank you for the sggestions. I'm a camera dummy. I've always used the auto settings. And I haven;t had much experience with good photo editing software.
  11. That's some nice work, Martin! I'm impressed that you even painted it red. I've never done much suspension work. Was proud of myself the day I replaced the rear shocks on my 1981 Caprice.
  12. Maybe I didn;t really know what I wanted. Here is my issue: Outdoor lighting is too bright or too dark 99% of the day. Flash is always too bright. My bench lights are too bright as well. Plus! Plus... I'm on a new background thing. I can use images from the internet on my large screen TV for backgrounds instead of printing images and wasting paper. Here are two attempts from today: With flash: Without Flash: So...maybe I need a solution for lighting behind me? Gaz
  13. Thank you!
  14. Hi everyone, YOu remember when you had professional photos whether it was school photos or privately... behind the cameraman was a thing that added more light? It looked like a big umbrella.... sort of. Anyone know? Gaz
  15. Fantastic work, Rob! Map and pencils! Amazing. Something I'll have to consider when I do mine. Good show!
  16. When my daughter split up with her husband, I got stuck with the dog. I hate it. And moreover, the thing is biting my dog on the neck causing sores. I would love to see that dog gone. But between wife and daughter, I'd be the most hated man on the planet. Oh,... and to stay on topic... due to recent covid cases in my general area... the same area where my modelling club meets... this month's meeting has been cancelled. Totally pissed off!
  17. Thank you, Rob! Thank you! I'm no fan of the older Eduard kits. I've still to buy any of the newer FW's.
  18. Hi Rob, Thank you for the kind comments. The color I sought is that of rust is only a few days old. It came out a bit more orange than intended. I used to serve in an M-109A3 battery. Within a day of being scrubbed clean by dirt then hosed off, the tracks would start to rust. They'd go through various orange shades until they finally became a rich brown rust color. And when the machine started to move, you could hear the rust breaking in each joint and pin, making orange-ish dust which I tried to portray on the drive sprockets. Where there was contact between wheels, guide horns, sprockets, and tracks, any rust would quickly yield the metal underneath. I'm glad you like it! Gaz
  19. Mostly OOB except for a few metal parts and other bits supplied by the household. This one is modelled from a JG 3 machine. Thanks for looking! Gaz
  20. Hello friends, It's been a good day for modelling. I completed two kits and threw away their boxes... a little ceremony I go through every time I finish a build. Anyway... it's a nice kit. Probably comparable to Tamiya in fit and detail. The Dolp metal figurines weren't the best, but at least they had the period uniform for 1955. Thanks for looking!
  21. Well, you'll be happy to know that the parts in the Neo kit have much nicer detail than the Imperial line.
  22. Thanks mate! The Fifty is in a real awkward position. And there is a restraint that grabs the end of the barrel, but that is glued flat to the turret. I'll have to live with it as it's glued in place, now.
