  1. Hi everyone, I've spent about four hours looking for a photo or drawing of the inside of the Dornier's crew entry hatch. I can find quite a few of the outside. But nothing useful for modelling detail. I've got a few of the ICM Dorniers, but the hatch isn't modelled at all. It's just a part of the fuselage unfortunately. If anyone has one.... I'd appreciate it greatly! Cheers, Gaz
  2. HI Rob, The thing is... I still have to do it all over again with the schurzen. Gaz
  3. I don't like weed. I'm allergic and the few times I tried it, not only did I get sleepy and hungry, but also my sinuses locked up tighter Scrooge's wallet. But I am glad that it's becoming more and more legalized. There's plenty of other stuff to go to prison for.
  4. I don't have much to show for my modelling time this week. NFL is back, so that takes up a few hours... Never mind the bent headlight. I didn't like the original angle, so I broke it off and pinned it... then proceeded to bend the copper wire pin... anyway... experimenting with lighting here. Except for the cushions added to the cupola, I've added a couple of wires for the headlights. And... One thing I hate is when you're airbrushing and you can't get to that tight spot... so I painted behind the applique armor before adding it. Lotsa holes on the surface to fill, yet. Kinda getting in the mood to play with something with wings on it. F Sorry.... I meant one of my 1/48 Dorniers, or a 1/32 FW.... so indecisive! Thanks for looking! Gaz
  5. Rigged quite nicely!
  6. Those tracks came out very well! Can't believe you were gonna mask them.
  7. Some of Dunkirk had merit. And the small boats parts were pretty good.
  8. Good grief... talk about 'not pretty'! Can't you Canucks make anything more aesthetically pleasing than a jar of maple syrup or a hockey stick?
  9. I'm totally off recent Hollywood war movies. Just lost interest in the BS factor.
  10. Seems like the column on the right showing active topics has gotten longer.
  11. Some nice work, Bill!
  12. Happy Birthday, Maru!
  13. Amazing work! Really love those pits!
  14. Rob, Thanks for the info. I've ordered two of those jigs, thinking they'll be great for many things.... especially canopy framing. Gaz
  15. Looks excellent, Rob! You've inspired me to by the same jig. Do you find it relatively foolproof? I like your cheery doors, too.
  16. Thanks mate! I have a few Marder's to build, and the one I have built so far, was a Dragon Marder III H. Great kit... Lots of PE...but not overly exciting when it came to painting. Thank you! ...for both.
  17. Thanks. Rob! A few years ago I built this Dragon PZIII G Orange Box kit. Except for the gun breech, there was no interior. So, I filled the open hatches with crew members. You wonder what they're looking at?
  18. Earlier today I wondered if I actually had a build thread on this kit... forgetful old me.... So, what I have been up to: I'm not an interior guy. I figure if you can't see it, why build it if not structurally significant. But on this occasion, because this kit is so nice and an expensive gift, I'd go all out. Contrary to being all cream white and rotbrun inside, you can find a fair bit of gray inside most panzers. Oh... BTW I have weathered the suspension with a pin wash and some streaking though I imagine these areas will become dominated by dust and the Schurzen. I have a bad habit of being miserly when mixing colors... so when I needed some touch up paint... I failed to that the correct mix on hand. Despite the rest of the interior, there are significant things missing... like the Coaxial MG receiver and mounting system. I've painted all of the parts that will be polished by track wear a light metal color. I had a lot of trouble trying to discover the color of the shell catching bag. The only one I could get a good look at online was the one on Tiger 131 in the UK. To me it looked like rubberized canvas, so I tried to emulate the look here. The cupola interior needed cushions between the vision blacks. I made them with sprue filed, cut, and sanded to shape... then painted hoping to resemble black leather. The vision blocks were cast in solid gray plastic, so I painted them with a white metal paint, then stained them with a very thin mix of Tamiya clear green and levelling thinner. Unintentionally, the levelling thinner attacked the metal color and gave the blocks an imperfect look... but, I think it worked because armor vision blocks always look like crap. Then I coated them with Future. Now... with the oils drying, I'm not sure what to attack next. Thanks for looking!
  19. Love the paint modulation, and the ordinance looks nicely detailed.
  20. Rob, Tamiya gloss white mixed with Mr Color Levelling thinner is my go-to primer. That being said... Any place I'm going to use masks, I hit with a little sandpaper for that extra bite. Keep up the good work. Gaz
  21. Looks good, Martin. Might wanna work on that seam in the muzzle. though.
  22. Although I'm certainly over all of the troubles... I certainly don't want anyone in my family catching it. My wife, daughter, and now grand daughter are not paragons of healthy vitality. Even at 54 and overweight, I'm the healthiest of our little clan. I'm not bothered by masks or confinement. I'll take having a family any day.
