  1. I wasn't aware the word had only one meaning or context.
  2. As pretty as those Russki fighters might be... I think I would trust US built stuff a bit more.
  3. Ah, if it was only so easy!
  4. You mean I have an option? Woohoo!
  5. For scale Kamerad, we don’t want it too shiny.
  6. Ugh! It would be another massive hunk of plastic with too few details, necessitating large amounts of AM, or many hours spent researching and scratchbuilding.... speaking of which.... ever finish that He-111P you were building on TOS?
  7. Is there a Mirage fighter anywhere around with Luftwaffe crosses?
  8. Never heard of that movie... I’ll dig into it when I get home from work. Hate trying to watch stuff on the phone screen.
  9. Bloody ell’ ... more Lancashires to complain about.
  10. Tornadoes are as rare as chicken lips here. But when I lived Michigan, I huddled under the basement stairs quite a few times. stay safe Harv.
  11. Just a little joke... I figured bier and kuhler would have been a giveaway. gaz
  12. I was just being silly. You know... making a joke.
  13. Well, for better or worse, I'm nearing completion. I've done all of the weathering I can think of, yet still trying to keep everything subtle. So, as the oils dry and I wait for a few days to add a matte coat. I'm not showing any pics because they'll detract from the finals. I'm going to give my thoughts on the kit. 1. I've been told it's the best MiG-25 kit around. So, I won't argue the point. 2. Early in the build you must add the landing gear legs. This is unfortunate as they are exposed to damage from very early on. Next time I will cut the nose gear off at a joint line, and pin it so that it can be added later. I broke the very end of it off which caused many complications. 3. Fit is not too bad, In most cases, trimming the inside of the plastic parts will get you through. Though there is a pretty bad one on the underside that has to be handled from the outside. 4. A mixture raised and recessed surface detail on the dorsal parts. Nothing insurmountable... but this is 2019... not 1969. 5. The kit is made to be built with the droptank attached. This means that the vertical spine on the belly has holes in it. It would have been nicer had it been molded whole and left for the modeller to decide if he wants to drill them out. They're in an awkward place, and in the end I just left them alone. 6. There are cones to represent the axles of the wheels and stabilators. Cylinders would have been been better IMHO as none of the recesses that the cones fit into are conical. 7. Protrusions. There are various small protrusions that are troublesome, or damaged by the plastic around them. Except for the clear sprue, the plastic all comes in one bag. This caused some fragile parts to arrive bent. 8. Missiles. They're pretty bad. If the fins had been molded thinner, I probably could have been happy with them. 9. Directions. They're not too bad. But there are no decal guidelines for the missiles or missile rails. Fortunately there were some decent photos online to help there. So... nothing majorly wrong with the kit. Just a few tiny things that could have been fixed by better quality control by ICM. Not gonna consider myself blameless... but there are times I wish that i could have gone back to the beginning and started a fresh kit. Hopefully I can have it matte coated in a few days. Gaz
  14. Maybe a nostalgia build? Something from when you were a kid that isn't too hard to find? I've done two in the last few years and kinda enjyoed the trip way back. Good luck! Gaz
  15. Saw this on facebook. Thought it might fit. Gaz
  16. Foot rests look great, Harv. Now, don't forget to add the Bier und Wurstkühler aus der Luftwaffe which was carried in every machine built for more than one crew member. Gaz
  17. Winter is coming!
  18. welcome to the forum! Nice start on your Sherman. They don't look half bad with long guns. Gaz
  19. This is what exactly what mine looks like. It's about the size of half a loaf of bread. The white things inside the stainless steel reservoir are a basket and jewellery holding accessories that lift out easily. Image for discussion only. When I've reassembled my AB's I tip it out and give it a quick wipe down. Easy peasy. Gaz
  20. Welcome to LSM! that's one hell of an introduction. All very nicely done! Gaz
  21. Last weekend my Iwata Revolution H-CR developed an unhealthy splutter. I tore as much of it apart as I thought reasonable and cleaned as well as I could. But in replacing the nozzle, I damaged it by over-tightening. So, I had to order a nozzle... I ordered two. The parts came after a few days, but the sputter persisted. So, this weekend I broke out my sonic cleaner. I'd used it before with just water and a little soap and gotten a little gunk out of an airbrush. But today I filled the reservoir with Simple Green. My cleaner only runs for 7 and a half minutes max. So I cycled it four times. Re=assembled the AB and clean, persistent spray. So, I tore apart another AB and gave it the same treatment. It was amazingly filthy and clouded the Simple Green. Put it together and it too was spraying sweetly. Then I dug out my first 'decent'/retired airbrush and gave it a few cycles. Now I'm back up to three serviceable airbrushes. Then I did the wristband of my watch... that was really nasty! Anyway... a great cheap piece of gear to have. I got mine from someplace on EBay. Gaz
