  1. Yea, but magic reindeer are more reliable. Hey, I kid! But only because Dad was on the C-5 design and test team.
  2. 20f right now, dropping down to 14f by 7am. My main water line is exposed for about 1 foot between my HVAC unit and the concrete wall where it enters the house. I put a heating pad in a trash bag and set it on low and put it over the water line with a couple of bricks holding it in place.
  3. I’ve always loved small engines (well, big ones too!) and I think it’s why I got drawn into RC airplanes back in the ‘80’s. Some of my favorites were the OS Max twin cylinder 4 cycles. I had the 160 and the 300. It’s amazing what those engines cost now compared what I paid back then. The 300 looks to be no longer available, but the 160 is now over $1400.00 I think they were about $450 back then. I know I paid $650 for my 300. The 7 cylinder radial is pure sexy, but at $4000, no way in hell I could strap that onto a yard dart and enjoy flying it. I always keep my eyes open for vintage hit and miss engines, but apparently those things are made of gold and painted to look like old cast iron
  4. There’s also USAGundam or GundamUSA in FL. One thing I’ve seen with Gundam stores is they carry Mr. Color paint. Might be a good source if your regular place is out of stock. I also found SMS lacquers out of Australia at the FL store.
  5. Peter, watch this video. Instructions leave a lot to be desired. BTW, the Locator jig has pricing all over the place on line. Most places are asking upwards of $50 and more for them. You can get it from China for $9-$11. But the same Gundam store I bought the cutter from has them for $12. Went ahead and ordered it just now too.
  6. I think I still have a bottle of Xanax laying around somewhere….. or…..
  7. Yea, got it from another Gundam store out of Atl. Ga. Just a one day shipping distance. I’ll do you one better. I ordered spark plugs for my ‘66 Mustang on Saturday evening from Summit Racing. They were on my front porch Monday morning. Also from Atl.
  8. Well, as I mentioned over in the “What’s on your bench” thread in belugawhaleman’s post that I had to have one now, it just arrived. Yea, instructions are very limited and lost in translation. YouTube to the rescue. But man, this thing is going to make life so much easier painting wheels and tires now. I’ve been sitting here cutting circles like a moron on a tricycle. I’ll get the locator soon as well.
  9. Ordered! Thanks!! interesting though if anyone else is looking for these. Has a different part number than the one I found on HAD’s website. 32089 seems to be the correct part number.
  10. No, I did not. But looking at instructions now and they mention a 1/48 part number for helmet decals. I’ll look into that. Thanks! EDIT: Well, I found them on HAD’s website. 321002 is the number. Got to figure out where I can order them now. Hard to search on the phone.
  11. Just got these out of the mailbox earlier to go with the F-14 Jerry hooked me up with. The correct movie decals!
  12. Now with Christmas almost here I’m realizing Ernie made a good call on the delay. I cannot believe how busy we have been getting ready for family to show up for visits and getting all the gift decisions, buying and wrapping done. I’ve had very little time at the bench working on old projects without the group build going yet.
  13. Sorry, my daughters are married off already. And I don’t think my boys would go along with it either. But if you were, I wouldn’t have to worry about the stash going in the dumpster after I’m looking up at roots.
  14. Almost forgot that I have that 1/48 B-58 kit, but in a smaller cardboard box due to shipping size of the original. I really need to find that sucker. SR-71 really grabs my attention. If it’s on my affordable scale I’ll have to do it.
  15. I buy a gallon of lacquer thinner at Lowes or Home Depot.
  16. Shhh!!! Don’t let her ever hear you say that. It will go to her head. She already knows it. And so do I, as I sit here at my bench, retired. While she’s at work right now.
  17. Oh, almost forgot…. She came home to visit during the summer and went rummaging through our bill drawer where I kept this rock. “Dad? Are you losing your mind? You have this random rock in the drawer with the bills.” Yea honey, it’s just a random rock. Now leave my damned rock alone!
  18. Ok, just so everyone doesn’t think I’m the Scrooge Ernie makes me out to be… I also made this for her. She got married last year in an outdoor wedding. The next morning after the wedding I went back by the venue to pick up something we left the night before. The place was completely surrounded by river rocks. I got a wild idea at that moment and picked out a nice big one. I pulled out some wedding photos and airbrushed her background for the wedding on the rock. I’m going to put all the info on the back. Date, location, etc. I’m the good looking guy on the left. Other guy is the intruder, and the wife. Daughter should be obvious since she’s the one in the “one and done” dress. Of course it rained on the day of her outdoor wedding, and we got the nuptials in between showers. But you cannot see the mountains in the background. Maybe the rock will give her the “Mandela effect” and she’ll remember the mountains one day. December wedding, so that’s why there are Christmas trees behind us.
  19. Someone just pointed this out to me today. https://www.facebook.com/TiggerModels/posts/pfbid0p9fgYA2BDYZj2eVRcprQkdZFSWtp6Vog2uEveLpGUMyFBtr1Binyv6UpAEm92TtKl Looks like Reskit is on board as well.
  20. Ok, the DSPIAE circle cutter is now something I can’t live without. Never seen this before. You just cost me $60. I’ll thank you later after I use it for the first time.
  21. This is why the back end of my lowered 2015 Mustang always stuck out in the parking lot. Those parking lot stops were always about 2” too tall. Even stock ride height would hit them. Kills me that Ford would build something that low without a warning sensor or front camera to save the front end.
