  1. That front bumper…..DAYUUMM!!!!
  2. LOL! I’d be dumping all 298 kits in the stash on the floor.
  3. Gotta agree Ernie, those older juke boxes were works of art vs. just a functioning machine of the later years.
  4. I was wondering how the GSG MP-40 performed. Thought it would go good with my PTR MP-5 and MPK clones. Still working out the bugs in my K. Haven’t tried it out since I installed a real HK extractor. I need to join the local range and go burn through some of the ammo stash.
  5. LOL! Yea, that was paint for two F-35’s, my KAI Panther F-4EJ, more leveling thinner and a couple bottles of Mr. Color black. At $7 per bottle, it adds up quickly!
  6. Just got the email notices that the MRP paints I had on notify came in. Looks like they just got in a restock so if you’ve been looking for hard to find MRP colors, jump on it now. And another $100 just went on the CC …….🤪
  7. I use those same one ounce cups for mixing paint. But I got mine a few at a time while stopping at Wendy’s for lunch across the street from my old job. Several years of lunch a couple times a week can add quite a stash! No lids though. Might have to check out Amazon.
  8. More Seaview goodies. $30 delivered for this tiny decal sheet. Sify crap can get pricy.
  9. And who is Al Fresco and why does he get his own area?
  10. Rog, I fail to see anything listed as “model building suite” or “Man cave” or “Hobby room”? Back to the drawing board?? Looks good! Good luck with everything and I hope it transitions smoothly.
  11. Apparently collecting pinball machines is a thing now with some guys. I’ve seen pics online of guys that have 7 or 8 machines in their home arcade.
  12. Oh boy, my wife is in for a surprise! I have the TOS and the Refit. (And the Klingon D7 in 1/350. It’s a resin kit) I’m going to have to do some reorganization just for the Seaview I’m about to start. She kind of ruined my “Man Cave” when we moved in by thinking it would be a great gathering area for company. Couch and recliners in front of a large TV, her grandmothers old server set up as a “bar” that never gets used. And we have a small bar area in the kitchen as well. My plan is to slowly dominate the room with my essence of man toys and push her nicknack crap out slowly. Maybe I can train some termites to eat grandma’s server and touch nothing else? The room has been used exactly once like she set it up for. And that was the week after we moved in and our daughter invited all her college friends down for a weekend.
  13. Ooh, I lied. Pinball is a Bally. Here’s a pic of its sad state.
  14. Almost bought one of those, but I’m a bigger Trekkie than a Star Wars guy. My kids don’t get it. Proves it’s a generational thing. But I was there on opening day in a sold out theater for Star Wars. Had no idea what we were going to see other than some space movie.
  15. Well, she came home hot about the total of the monthly cc bills and was asking what have we bought lately. I did spill the beans and told her I bought some modeling supplies that added up to just over $200. Didn’t bat an eye. If I told her those supplies included another kit I wouldn’t be alive to post this now.
  16. Oh boy. I’m in trouble when the cc bill rolls in… I’ve dropped around $250 on AM and a major “enhancement” for the diorama I’m going to build around the Seaview. And I still need supplies…..
  17. Yea, lots of bad reviews online. They had a really nice looking set of Phantom decals I wanted, but at $50, I did a lot of reading first and passed.
  18. One of my neighbors has probably a dozen juke boxes in various stages of working to complete projects. He trying to sell me one, but as the wife put it, “Takes up too much space with less music storage than my iPhone and Bluetooth speaker”. He does however have an old Bally’s nickel slot I’m thinking of buying. Problem is, very illegal to own one in SC. I do have another project on the SOD. It’s an old Williams Evil Knievel pinball machine. Been in the corner of my workshop for 20 years now. Maybe after the holidays I’ll get on it. Naaa….We’ll be in the middle of our “Wet group build” See? It’s y’all’s fault.
  19. Oh my God…that’s horrible.
  20. After I posted I went to Amazon looking at transformers. They’re only around $35. Just plan on swapping them out no matter how good the old one seems. Cheap insurance.
  21. Damn Hubert. You suck too! Man, that is one sweet ride! I’ve got a weak spot for those cars. Jeff, if you’re looking for neons, can I give you a bit of advise? Inspect the transformer closely on used neons. As they age the black goo they pour around them will start to melt from over heating and start to drip out. Eventually they might catch fire. If you see any signs of the goo escaping, replace the transformer with a newer designed solid state unit. You can get them on Amazon. Check used restaurant supply stores. They carry them. I picked up a non-neon Bud Light spinning light up sign at my local store. Start looking for neon repair shops in your area too. Sometimes you can get a broken neon free from sellers just to get it out of their way and it can easily be repaired for around $100-$150. About 28-29 years ago someone gave me a Welcome to Miller Time neon. Got the tubes fixed for $75 and then about a year later I noticed a small black stalagmite growing under the light on a door frame. Called the neon shop back and they wanted something like $150 for a transformer. I stuck it in the corner and forgot about it until a few years ago and started searching online and found neon transformers on Amazon for a lot less.
  22. Oh good God, no! Not that expensive. I priced out the RC system for the 1/72 Skipjack I have in the stash. I think it was around $1200 Let’s just say instead of a sub on a stand, a diorama.
  23. Lack of discipline? I’m doing my best to never go down that rabbit hole again. I focus on the project at hand and keep one SOD project on top of my bench as a reminder I have another kit that needs my attention. I’ll slowly work on it until it’s done. Even when we transitioned into the new home, I knew I didn’t want the trashed workshop I was giving up with 5 and 6 half built kits laying around. EDIT: I will add, I try NOT to think about kits in the stash while building the current project. Once I’m comfortable knowing the last decal or detail will be done within the next 24 hours, I then let my mind wander. The “Wet group build” discussion came up right as I was wrapping up the F-16, so I started thinking about it, and even before I started the Viper I knew I wanted to build something out of my syfi stash. It was a no brainer. Now I’m thinking of how I can take that build to the next level, and it might get expensive. I’m keeping that secret to myself for now.
