  1. I have all of the above: Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, plus a bunch of Ryobi One+ 18V battery tools, and some Harbor Freight crap that should have died long ago, but hasn't. I'm loyal to whatever does the job and doesn't break my budget. My favorite ones are my dad's 50 year old Craftsman power tools that are still going as strong as ever, as opposed to the modern "Crapsman" ones.
  2. Yes, I tried those when I was a kid, and you could still buy them surplus. I do not recall it being especially good, but edible. I loved the round chocolate cookies!!
  3. Same as mincemeat pies without the meat? Are they good? If they are anything like Vegemite in OZ, count me right the hell out. Never tried Haggis either.
  4. What the heck are those?
  5. Title speaks for itself, thanks!
  6. That would have been funnier if it used proper grammar.
  7. What kind of wheel chocks you looking for, Mike?
  8. I always love a P-38 model - very well done!
  9. Just FYI, this is a Bula Defense M21 DMR receiver with a Bula NM 19.25" barrel, and was set up as an XM-21 clone like the Vietnam vintage rifles. The originals were modified M14s with the rail added like this one. The DMR receivers are nice because the rail has a groove in it that allows use of the iron sights, and can be removed entirely if desired, unlike a modern M21 receiver, on which the rail is integrated. That front sight is made by Smith Enterprises and is designed for use with certain muzzle accessories, which this rifle's previous owner had on it. It is also used on many SOCOM style M14s by the US military. The new owner has installed a new Fulton NM USGI style flash hider, and is waiting on a standard gas lock in the mail before installing the new NM front sight. The SEI sight is rather nice, though, as it sits slightly higher than the stock setup. It will be kept for possible future use. Smith also makes an extended bolt release that is standard on all US military M14s now. One of those has been backordered as well. And we thought model building was expensive....
  10. I'm not actually saying who bought this (cuz big brother probably keeps a record of such things) but whoever it was still needs to put optics on it. He just can't afford it because he's really broke now. It's a good thing he doesn't have any other hobbies to spend money on.
  11. That's so funny, it might make me crash!
  12. I would so totally do that.....
  13. Yep, I expect a lot of us are taking some sort of "peter pill" (or will be soon) - for one thing or another...... 😉 What a hoot life is!
  14. Not to make light of a difficult subject, but to poke fun at my addled brain - I saw "MIL" (which, of course, means mother-in-law) and my brain immediately went to Russian aircraft first. Our obsession is never far from the surface, is it?
  15. I guess it depends on your perspective, right? My dad died in February, and his health was so miserable he'd been wishing he could check out for a while. As the song says, "...hope I die before I get old.....".
  16. Is that real? If so, I guess it should not surprise me. It seems that the more technology we develop to help us do things (like check our spelling), the dumber we get. So dumb that we don't even use the spell check. I can't recall the last time I read an article of any sort that did not have tone of errors in it.
  17. Getting old is a blast, isn't it?
  18. Looks to me like you have room for visitors! Maybe I need to make a trip to Missouri one of these days....
  19. Is this the guy that did all the nice machined brass gun barrels and stuff? (Never mind - I see that it's not the same. Whew!!)
  20. Cheap is right! What a deal! I saw something else aircraft related on that site that has me wondering - https://www.proxibid.com/WWI-IMPERIAL-GERMAN-RED-BARON-CANVAS-AIRPLANE/lotInformation/75071756 Do you think that's authentic?
  21. Ok, I won't SAY it....
  22. Yep, I'll watch that!
  23. I wouldn't know a good wine if it bit me. They all taste like crap to me, so I guess I'm just too unsophisticated to tell the difference.
  24. When I was in the Dominican Republic in 2010, I saw giant bottles of American whiskey like that in the super market - they made that wine bottle look small. They were easily 3 feet tall and had a hinged metal stand so you could pour them. If there had been a way to get that on the plane...... And very cool idea on the light fixture! Make sure to post when it's done.
