  1. I'm in Central WA, near Yakima. Daughter goes to EWU in Cheney, so we spend a lot of time over that way.
  2. Another Washingtonian! I live on the "right" side of the state. 😉 It's dry as popcorn fart over here.
  3. Not to mention disgusting....
  4. A lot of these make me laugh, but I should not have looked at this while at work. I flat lost it and the whole office could hear me giggling!!
  5. To bad you can't suddenly get it spinning. Might make for a pretty funny video!
  6. Slight correction on myself - the civilian ones are not surplus, but they are built by the same company (Oshkosh Defense) for the civilian market. https://oshkoshdefense.com/vehicles/aircraft-rescue-fire-fighting-arff/ An interesting subject, and very cool trucks!!
  7. Ya but those guys are crazy --- oh wait, I'm one of those guys now. Damn.
  8. We use those in the civilian world, too, but they are called ARFF trucks (Airborne Rescue & Fire Fighting). In fact, a lot of civilian ones are surplus military. We don't get to call our stuff "tactical" because no one is shooting at us...usually.😁
  9. My mind is not made up yet.
  10. Amen.
  11. That is one mellow dog!
  12. Well, to be truthful, Ernie's stash is a 4.5 hrs north from San Marcos, but to a Texan, that's like a quick run to the hardware store! In Texas, you can drive for 12 hours, and still be in the same state.
  13. Just ordered some stuff before the stampede starts. Wish I could afford to grab more spares. Hell, I wish I could just buy the business from him.
  14. He would need his own room for his stash if he were a vendor.... I love that part of Texas, but I honestly don't know if I can handle that place in August. The last time I was in that part of TX, it was June, and San Antonio was like walking on the sun.
  15. Just curious, but I noticed that the GWH kit decals do not appear to include the Chinese Nationalist AF roundels. That seems odd to me - any idea why? Is that a political statement by the Chicoms?
  16. I hear that. I have to do that 3 or 4 times a day on the weekends. I sweat through everything I own, whether I'm working at home, or fighting a wildfire. Did the latter Saturday afternoon, and had to take a shower when I got back. My wife won't even let me bring those clothes in the house. I have to strip on the back patio and let them dry in the 100 deg (F) sun for a few hours before I can wash them!! And a structure fire is something completely different. I have to disassemble my bunkers, wash them, wash all my clothes, AND shower. And I still sweat for another hour! Makes going to my nice air conditioned desk job on Monday morning slightly more tolerable.
  17. What was the answer?
  18. I cracked and pre-ordered the Jeep. 64 bucks shipped seems pretty reasonable for such a large kit, so I couldn't resist spending money I haven't made yet on something they haven't made yet.... Hopefully, I will pay this one off by the time the E8 Sherman comes out for preorder......cuz that one will probably get me too.
  19. That's funny! Was alcohol involved?
  20. I'll take whichever one he doesn't want. 😁
  21. That is so cool!!
  22. I am usually not one for building more than one model of a given aircraft type (except P-38s), but I have to admit that ZM 190 might get me to do it. The last one I built was the OLD Hase kit, and it sucks. Pretty sure the ZM one won't. Of course, that depends on whether I ever build another model at all.... 😐
  23. As I already posted over on LSP, I'm out again this year. The high fuel costs have made road tripping unaffordable, and I don't want to pay the crazy airfares AND carry models on a plane. Should have gone to Vegas last year, I guess.
  24. What a strange looking critter! Looks like it didn't steer worth a crap. No wonder it never made it to production.
  25. I am extremely jealous, my friend! If I were eligible to retire, there would be no hesitation, I'd be gone like a shot.
