  1. Thanks Peter. This was my first kit from Tiger Models. They seem to have copied a bunch from Tamiya as far as construction and the layout of their instructions. That really made it an easy build.
  2. A small update on this project.i finally got it back on the bench and the Firefly at least is almost done now. I added a bit of stowage to the front hull and the driver figure. I need to add the periscope covers and then it'll be completed. Here it is with the finished cute Firefly. Carl
  3. Thanks Danny! The Firefly is definitely my favourite version of the Sherman.
  4. Damn Ernie, that's a bloody shame. Glad you didn't stomp on it or the cat. As for the Kingfisher, i've got to through a couple B-25s first. But it'll happen. Carl
  5. With the postal strike here ended, I've been getting a steady stream of packages. First up was one from Eduard. I also got a nice beer glass that came with some really tiny plastic bits in the box. Then, some decals from Hannants. The B-24 ones are for defence if I ever get the HB one. Finally some books for the library. Carl
  6. Some nice progress there Harv. What are you doing for countertops? Carl
  7. You can get Airscale directly from their website or some online retailers such as Hannants and Sprue Brothers carry them as well. Carl
  8. They're great kits for that very purpose. My two have built the Lanc and B-17 that MENG makes.
  9. Me wants one! Perfect for rush hour in Toronto with the way drivers are here these days.
  10. 2.66 litres for our two cars- 1.5 litre 4 cylinder and 660cc 3 cylinder. 52cc for my two 1/5 RC gas cars. Or about a single cylinder of your Mustang Carl
  11. That's a great view there Harv. Carl
  12. I agree. They can be quite the pain...
  13. Thanks, it really has gone together nicely. The suspension was only six parts to a side. The hull was just a top and bottom. Nice and simple. It definitely looks cool and has a sci-fi vibe to it. Carl
  14. So are you going to try and get the 1/200 Bismarck to go with it?
  15. So, after having gotten sucked into a Leopard C2 with way too much AM (Voyager PE, Legend resin bits, etc,) I decided to start something quick and easy. Pretty much one colour, no AM, and a reasonably low parts count. I don't have too many pics as it just went together how I wanted. Nice and easy. The plastic is two colours for some reason but the fit is fairly decent overall. The smoke grenades are partially buried in the turret sides so those had to be painted before I glued the turret halves together. Where I am as of last night. It's almost done except for the on vehicle tools, lights, and decals. I should have it done shortly I hope. Carl
  16. I haven't seen any decals for an FAA Seafire either John. Considering that the old Revell kit was/is the only option OOB, it's sort of understandable. Maybe look at stuff for FAA Corsairs and cobble something together? For roundels, you can get masks from Maketar that would work too. Hope that helps. Carl
  17. That's like cheaper than bottled water.
  18. Made that mistake a little while back and man was it expensive. Anyone want a Bandai 1/72 Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon? I've got an extra... Carl
  19. There's an idea. Maybe pick up the sprues from Tamiya and replace the HB engines. I wonder if that would be enough to see her back on the bench... Edit: forgot to say, a very nice engine John. Can I send you a couple of mine to build if you need to keep something on the bench? Carl
  20. Great review so far. Can't wait for the rest of it. Carl
  21. Vancouver has some of, if not the highest prices for gas in Canada. It's 93.9ยข per litre CAD at the Costco near me in Toronto. Which probably explained the massive lineup. Jeff, I heard that BC is one of the cheapest places to insure a supercar because of the way rates are calculated on them. But due to the proportionally high number of those cars being written off in crashes, everyone else gets stuck with the bill. Hopefully they fix that bit. Carl
  22. Happy birthday Jeroen! Carl
  23. Hey Martin, see if your insurance company will spring for this upgrade: https://jalopnik.com/this-ford-mustang-is-a-lamborghini-gallardo-1831106101 Although you do lose the rear seats... Carl
  24. John to the rescue! Carl
  25. And if it doesn't match, don't be afraid to send it back to them to make it right. I did with our car. There was dust, fish eyes, non functioning turn signal, and a scratch in the paint when I got the car back. I took green painters tape and placed it everywhere I saw a flaw and made notes on the tape so they knew what it was they missed And they had to give me a rental while they redid the work. Carl
