  1. I've got the Studio 27 kit in the stash as well. The Aoshima kit is better. MFH kit has all that detail included and the panel over them is held in place with magnets. That being said, it is pricier but everything's in the box: PE, carbon decals where needed, fabric belts and even machined aluminium bits. Only thing missing is time and the skills needed to put it together. Carl
  2. Nice bunch of books Danny! I have a couple of them myself. Carl
  3. My favourite has always been the short tail versions. Any car looks better in the classic Gulf paint scheme. I took a look at the BMW and overall it looks pretty good. The only concern I have is you're supposed to cut away part of the upper fender for a vent but it only leaves a small lip if plastic on the edge which might be a challenge to keep from breaking. Since you're a fellow McLaren F1 fan, here's a couple pics of the MFH kit which I'll get to one day. Pretty much all the body panels are removable. Carl
  4. Always a bonus!
  5. For me, it's hard to tell where the SOD ends and the stash begins. I used to have the really bad habit of starring whatever was the latest purchase but only going so far before putting back into the box and going on to the next new release. So there's lots of kits with bits stuck together but nowhere near completion. The oldest was probably the Caterham I finally finished this year. At the moment, my work space looks like a hooby shop exploded with open kits everywhere. At least I'm working on most of them. Carl
  6. I enjoy woodworking but my wife says I have enough hobbies that I don't need to start on another one. For now anyways... Carl
  7. Thanks Peter! About the only thing I don't have in my stash are ship models. Otherwise I've got planes, armour, sci-fi and cars. Even some dinosaurs. Carl
  8. The plastic looks nice. I'll try and get some pics up later. I've heard the Aoshima McLaren kits are good. They're supposed to be better than the Fujimi ones. If you really want detailed, check out the Model Factory Hiro versions. Carl
  9. She's definitely big for a fighter. Great progress though. Carl
  10. So more postal catch up today. This was a shipment from HLJ. A bunch of cheap Tamiya brushes for my kids to practice with. Some tools A couple figures for my Blade runner spinner kit. I never thought I'd find these, much less on sale. Seatbelts since it seems I'd run out of British ones. Lewis guns for a Camel. At least I hope they're for a Camel. Finally, some plastic. So that should be it for the next while. Carl
  11. I'm thinking I should get one of these.
  12. I would have voted GAU-8 but maybe that's overkill? M61 should be just fine. Typing this while my cat gets scratched behind the ears. Carl
  13. The strike was on for about a month. It got bad enough that Canada Post asked other mail services to stop sending packages and to hold onto them. The Eduard stuff was all one order. Supposedly they're discontinuing every one of the PE sets I bought which is why I grabbed them now.
  14. Speaking of easy builds, the construction and painting are all done now. Basically being a single colour helps a bunch. There's only a couple decals so I'll add those she'll be complete! Carl
  15. Thanks Peter. This was my first kit from Tiger Models. They seem to have copied a bunch from Tamiya as far as construction and the layout of their instructions. That really made it an easy build.
  16. A small update on this project.i finally got it back on the bench and the Firefly at least is almost done now. I added a bit of stowage to the front hull and the driver figure. I need to add the periscope covers and then it'll be completed. Here it is with the finished cute Firefly. Carl
  17. Thanks Danny! The Firefly is definitely my favourite version of the Sherman.
  18. Damn Ernie, that's a bloody shame. Glad you didn't stomp on it or the cat. As for the Kingfisher, i've got to through a couple B-25s first. But it'll happen. Carl
  19. With the postal strike here ended, I've been getting a steady stream of packages. First up was one from Eduard. I also got a nice beer glass that came with some really tiny plastic bits in the box. Then, some decals from Hannants. The B-24 ones are for defence if I ever get the HB one. Finally some books for the library. Carl
  20. Some nice progress there Harv. What are you doing for countertops? Carl
  21. You can get Airscale directly from their website or some online retailers such as Hannants and Sprue Brothers carry them as well. Carl
  22. They're great kits for that very purpose. My two have built the Lanc and B-17 that MENG makes.
  23. Me wants one! Perfect for rush hour in Toronto with the way drivers are here these days.
  24. 2.66 litres for our two cars- 1.5 litre 4 cylinder and 660cc 3 cylinder. 52cc for my two 1/5 RC gas cars. Or about a single cylinder of your Mustang Carl
