  1. Ernie, I was wondering if any of the tiger stripes are included as decals or masks? Can't wait to see you build it. Carl
  2. I've always loved the Caterhsm after first sitting in one back in '92. My wife even said I could get one for my 50th b-day. But that was before we had kids... I think the closest I'll come is the three Tamiya ones I have. Carl
  3. My wife said I could get one for my 50th. But that was before we had kids... I would still love one but I think I'll have to settle for the three Tamiya ones that I have. Carl
  4. Thanks Peter! I found the missing bits in the last place I'd think to check. They were in the LCM box. So hopefully I'll be back at it shortly. They really are. They just go together so nicely.
  5. Thanks for the great photos. Carl
  6. The Dambuster book is fantastic. I managed to pick one up at the Edinburgh show back in August. Carl
  7. Just checked on LSP/TOS, Paul, Suzy and the dogs made it out according to a member there. Carl
  8. I think Accurate Armour did one years ago but it wasn't cheap.
  9. Mostly the small details: hatches, lights, tools. I probably have some of the bits in a spares box but hopefully the box will turn up.
  10. Didn't realize how bad the fire was until I read about it this morning on CBC. Hope they're safe and sound. Carl
  11. Just a quick update. I've somehow misplaced the Firefly box so I can't get any more done until I find it. As for the LCM, I'm waiting on a figure set to arrive at my LHS so that's stalled too. It's stored to arrive next week so hopefully I'll be back at it shortly. In the meantime, I'll keep looking for the Firefly box. Carl
  12. Rob, the book didn't mention the colour scheme for the one he flew in Germany but considering the nature of his flight, I doubt the bottom would have been painted yellow. Carl
  13. Looks great Rob. Just catching up on your build. I checked my copy of Wings of the Luftwaffe and in it, Eric Brown mentions that he was able to make a single powered flight in the Me163 while still in Germany. He pulled it off knowing that the RAE was about to ban all powered rocket flights. It's a great read of not just the flight itself but also his efforts to sneak it in. Carl
  14. Nice! They've just announced a Jagdpanther with full interior as coming soon. Right after I bought the Meng one too. Carl
  15. Great looking Corsair Frank! I almost bought another one today (Hobbysearch has the -1D kit on sale for $80) but I figured I should build the ones already in the stash. Carl
  16. If the dog comes with the Fox body, I could be interested. :p
  17. There was one of these in black just up the street from us. My wife loved it and wanted one. When I asked her what about the boys, her response was they're old enough to put on their own seatbelts so we wouldn't have to climb in and do it. Here was the proof of concept: I love my wife. Carl
  18. I'm actually short 1 cylinder. The Beat is a 660cc 3 cylinder. Which means my entire engine has less displacement then a single cylinder in any of the pony cars here. Ernie, you're absolutely right in that there's nothing that sounds like a good ol' V8. One of the dads at my sons' school drives his kid there in a '70s Beaumont. Love hearing that car rumble up. Carl
  19. Nice pony car! My wife would love something like that.
  20. I like the bronze myself. The Bandit Screaming Chicken was gold so much lighter in colour than the dark bronze. My Beat has bronze rims so I might be biased. Carl
  21. Bear Paws as in the cookies? I see them all the time but never really give them a thought. Didn't realize they're only in Canada. Years ago when my sister was living in Barcelona she asked me to bring her some Coffee Crisp chocolate bars as they not available there. I sort of overdid it and brought her a case of 30. She was sick of them by they end. Carl
  22. Great looking cockpit Peter. You've definitely got your groove back. Carl
  23. Speaking of canopies, here they are. They're both masked off and glued in place. For the masks, I used two different sets. One was from Eduard and the other from Maketar. Both work fine so it wasn't a conscious decision on my part. The Eduard set was designed for the armoured pilot's windscreen that some B-25s were equipped with. French Kiss had this version so it was serendipity. I did have to carefully engrave the framework onto the canopy though which thankfully came out ok.
  24. Ernie, I did briefly consider it but decided against it. I was going to cut it out undersized and then file the opening to the correct size and then use a sheet of clear plastic for the replacement hatch. The side window you could probably do the same way. I just ended up chickening out.
