  1. The Godhand nippers are supposed to be among the best. I've got the Despaie ones arnd have found them to be very good. I also have a couple pairs of the Trumpeter ones. The first pair worked really well, a perfect absolutely flush cut. Then I dropped them and broke the blade. The second needed a slight adjustment to the setscrew and are about 95% as good as the first pair.
  2. It seems car repairs of any sort these days require an engineering degree with a minor in electrical systems and maybe job experience as a law clerk.
  3. It's odd about the Barracuda nose. I mentioned it before but I think Roy has two different moulds for it. I have two of them. One fits so much better than the second one. It's almost a drop fit, while the other will need a lot more work to make it fit, like yours.
  4. John, you are just cranking the kits out. I don't think I can open the threads fast enough to keep up with what you've got on the go. Well done.
  5. Nice job John. They make a nice pair. I like the tricolour scheme on the Wildcat compared to the GSB one. The Atlantic scheme is cool too.
  6. Anigrand make some esoteric subjects but their quality is all over the map. Sadly it looks like this is one of their more quality challenged ones. Which is truly unfortunate especially at some of the prices they charge.
  7. Auto safety has really come a long way. But it can only do so much.
  8. So Martin, that's what you looked like with long hair.
  9. Small bit of progress to report. To strengthen the fuselage/wing joint, I drilled some holes and inserted some short metal pins in. Corresponding holes were then drilled in the wing. Just the pins made a tight enough fit that the fuselage and wings held together. I then used some epoxy to make the joint permanent.
  10. Thanks Peter! I should have started this years ago but being an all resin kit, I found it a bit daunting. My try at the Silver Wings Hawk didn't help things but one day I'll get back to that one.
  11. If you've already suffered the punishment, you might as well get 2 then.
  12. The first gen Mustang SVT had 5 bolt hubs as well. Talking about brakes, when I first took a closer look at them on my '91 Beat, I noticed the front rotors are smaller than the rears. Which is opposite of what you usually see. The rears are the same as the fronts on a 5th gen Civic but the fronts are specific to the Beat. The only thing I could come up with is that they're that way because the car is mid engined.
  13. It lives!!! Well, mostly. But it's moving under its own power which is a good thing. From the rims, you've upgraded the hubs from the original 4 x100 or did Ford do that in later years?
  14. An original film used X-Wing from Star Wars recently sold at auction for $3.15M USD. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/star-wars-x-wing-fighter-sells-for-3-million-auction-1235618361/ Greg Jein was a long time VFX artist and after he recently passed away, his family asked for help to sort through his collection of film memorabilia. The X-wing was found in a box.
  15. You sure someone didn't just cut the sidewall on that tire? The rest looks to be coming along, small touch ups notwithstanding.
  16. Great looking cockpit Peter. The light weathering you've given it looks spot on and as much as I'd do.
  17. Not sure about the high velocity round but the stubby one was the 234/3 and the 234/1 had the 20mm cannon with the mesh hatches. The 234/4 had the PaK40.
  18. Looks good Scott. I still don't get why everyone does them as raised panels. They're worse than the BDR patches on Tamiya F-4 kits that everyone complains about.
  19. Great looking gunsight. The UV glue is great for so many different applications.
  20. Martin, you're not wasting any time there. At least they're not Modelkasten track links. Those are 9 pieces per link and all need to cut from sprues.
  21. That looks great. Really like the paint job and the exhaust staining. Did you have to add much nose weight to get it to sit properly?
  22. Went on a fall colours road trip today as part of a Honda owners group. Ours is 8th in line from the left.
  23. They've just announced the M29C with the boat shaped floats. That's one I'm considering as there's pics of an M29C being carried inside a Amtrac which would make a cool display.
  24. Like Ron said, at the moment there isn't an easy way to get a WWII Sherman. I'd wait a bit if you want to do a VVVS Sherman as I'm sure Andy's will come out with one. He's got almost all the parts now.
