  1. Moving on .....primed , black based , basic light grey paint job , wet on wet acrylic with panzer grey , lightened with yet another lighter grey , dry brushed with yet another gray /green pastels . This is going to be 100% acrylic weathering no oils at all . Free weekend coming up as Mrs Womble is away with her family, so plenty of modelling time hopefully. Next up is decals and muds , then we will see where it goes . Cheers Looks a bit odd after several rounds with paint ...trust me it will come together Small parts painted and some dry brushing ....bear with ...new lights are boosting the apparent contrast on da bench on the bench pix.
  2. Immaculate build of an interesting subject 👍 Be interesting to see if anything comes from your research !
  3. I feel all Led Zep just looking at them . You've made a nice job of it .
  4. TBH - Don't think I've come across them in the UK , Hannant's don't list them nor to you find them on eBay/Amazon much .
  5. I can 100% recommend Flight Dojo , does great videos on aircraft . Bit like Greg of Gregs Airplanes and Automobiles - in depth well researched work , plus he's also an airline pilot .
  6. Jennings Heilig banned from Britmodeller as well IIRC...and a few other forums .......TOS was his last forum outpost I believe. Made terrible Panthers .....🤣
  7. Yay - can I send you a free Zerrstorer to go with it ?
  8. Cheers people 😄thank you for the kind words
  9. See........... I pulled a fast one there , that's actually inside this Finnish Ausf G not the D above ....🤣 Pays to know a few people with them just in case ....Stug III ........soooo 2017 dharlings .
  10. But whats it like inside ....???
  11. Hull is interesting with some attempt at movable steering arms and spring suspention .....yeah ok Tamiya shall we wedge a motor in there too ? Low part count and usual "no issue" fit means it builds quick , got here in about 3 hours ... And on it's hull
  12. Rolling on after my Border Pz IV ....yes .....this is so 20 years behind. No real armour texture, weld beads are small and dubious , whole kit has the feel of "starter" to it. Vinyl tracks are really low detail compared to the moulded one on the border.
  13. Don't sit down this will be quick ....... In the clearing of my stash pre move , I bought this 18 months ago along with its cousin the Pz III Ausf L . Built the PzIII last year , not a bad little kit. This Stug looks very like my chums ( that's a D though ) but will stick with a Panzer Grey for this one.. ..so lets see how many shades of Grey I can work into this simple little thing . Metal barrel.... basic PE screens ...6 marking options ....meh.... is ok
  14. I've not seen John for a few years what with covid and everything else . I know he was looking at retiring to his farm in Normandy and taking this with him , but the import problems of a foreign military vehicle were problematic, so don't know how it ended up . Should get back in touch again ....
  15. Found a vid from the Marder III build ....yes it's an IVECO diesel in there not a petrol . The drive clutches came in and out about 20 times , as John was double guessing how they went together with no manuals and the plates were shagged out .
  16. In the UK ...sadly he'll be out in 2 1/2 years on liscense , less if he's also spent time in custody awaiting trial . Only hope is some fellow prisoners get to him , however they tend to put all the nonces together so he'll be safe with his TV and XBox no doubt. Welcome to sadass Britain, where police aren't interested in crime any more and all criminals come with a hard luck story. Texas it ain't sadly .
  17. Not so much om the bench but outside the bench
  18. Strapping Aryan lads of the old Kreigsmarine ..get to eat a lot of fish .......Raeder would be proud . 🤣
  19. Cheers ...I'm a bit "model to a period photo" at times. I don't trust drawn profiles per se . Did get somewhat carried away with this a few years ago . 😐
  20. Glamour pix of this recent build . Over all very much liked this offering from Border ( my first of their kits) . Fit was very good , details well executed and huge range of options . If you wanted to model a specific tank , you'd have 99% of the parts to do it I'm sure. I'm also a big fan of Meng , and I'd rate Border alongside them , both in advance of recent Tamiya models for options and part count for my money . Used the link and length track which were fine , their workable links not so good. Didn't both with the mesh skirts either given this was supposed to be a survivor of Watch am Rhein . Will look around for a couple of nice figures so may come back to this another time. As ever , I don't do clean ! Link to WIP Cheers PW
  21. OK calling this one done for now and ze pix are here Hatches are all unglued, I couldn't find any figures I liked in the stash so may look around for something nicer and revisit with a couple of crew.
