  1. Thats great news Peter , I'm glad for you both.
  2. Yes- I'm a so so modeller who has learnt to take half decent pix ....it's all smoke and mirrors Phil ! And all done with this one now / Link to carefully chosen pictures 🤣
  3. As with Rob, mine doesn't get used a huge amount , but for stuff like metal tracks , or a lot of repeat drilling it's great for me .
  4. That stunning yellow shows off the lines of he aircraft really well . Great build ,I love it . Never seen one in the flesh , a rare bird and none in Europe sadly .
  5. Loved those two, I'm pinching them for home made birthday cards !
  6. Those rattlers are smart ......who knew they could read ?
  7. Thank you , so... the 109 is better than the Revell Spitfire ? I think you reckoned not much to that one ( apologies if it was someone else )
  8. So compared to the ZM one , is there any comparison or is it just "Revell" ?
  9. Ze hand tool 60/E is 5- 20,000 . however I also have the power adjustable supply NG/2E so it can turn down further . I rarely run it over 7000 rpms Proxxon is quality German made tooling IMHO , my chum the gunsmith got 15 years out of his multitool before it finally gave up the ghost . @BlrwestSiR Your cat is lovely , I've so missed our furry friends in the past 10 years.
  10. And some working on the base Covered the hull in clingfilm and used filler to close the gap to the hull . Covered it with tissue paper using Liquitex Acrylic Gloss Medium , mixed with some gray . Textured is fine . And then you have this ... Needs about 10-12 coats of medium to build up the sea gloss....plus some white water.
  11. OK decided it was time to womble up and finish this or bin it . So starting adding bits to the superstructure ....PE ladders .....joyous ! And some weathering.... no..... lots of weathering .
  12. Which one d'ya fancy build first Rog ? I'm up for a Tiger buddy build if yer game , I've a Tammy 1/35 to wrestle with . Rolling out of my first Border build and having done the Dragon Flak 37 some years ago I reckon that'll be a peach of a kit as well . Lemme know .
  13. Strong in the force is he ....speak backwards I shall Glue or not glue ...there is no dry
  14. I'll stand by......reckon that completely faded OD is the way to go . Good fun to paint too I reckon .
  15. Poor thing ...theres some nice stuff in that stash too .
  16. So....... squirrel man , where is the Gooney bird at now ?
  17. +1 ..a Twin Otter in anything bigger than 1/72 would be great. Lovely aircraft, used everywhere , still being occasionally made by Viking I think .
  18. Should have spent more of the marketing budget on the quality department .... Not AK .......but another Spanish company ...when people try to sell you this sort of nonsense, you know their marketing dept have been on the columbian marching powder too much.
  19. Another interesting pic but not from the 247 Sdn , this is 213 Sdn The black undersides seem to be sloppily/hastily put on , and in the front aircraft slopped up the wing edge ( and how knackered is that one ?) , and in the others it follows a line up the tails . Is it black over earth or still dark green ? A-LK is Ian Gleed I believe , himself an interesting character , made famous by Airfix's 1/24 Hurricane Mk1 Ian Gleed wikipedia
  20. A bunch of pictures from my 247 Sdn book , from when they were defending Exeter and Plymouth during and after the blitz. I'm no Hurricane expert , I've just an attachment to this unit that operated from my home town ( the Glad I built is 247) . This book is heartily recommended as it contain a lot of tall tales and observations from the pilot and staff , you get a real sense of these young characters. They flew Hurricanes Feb 41 to end 1942 before swapping out for Typhoons . This one interesting , has the anti glare sheilds but still in normal paint scheme ?
  21. It was the 40's I guess , I think we sank most of the U Boat fleet off the coast of Ireland as expediency , Operation Dreadnaught .
