  1. Looks great Kai. What's surprised me is how long this thing is!
  2. Thanks guys. Rob, I think I was lulled into a false sense of how hard this kit is by the work of Mistral on LSP who's built 5 or 6 of these and seems to know exactly how to solve all it's issues. Kai, I'm kind of following the steps that the conversion requires you to take. The dogtooth inserts really need the wing halves joined first but they're only glued along the leading edge to allow a little flexibility for the fuselage join. I've just glued the wings to the lower fuselage tonight and fit was okay, although needed a bit of trimming round the wheel wells. Joining the upper fuselage halves and test fitting the tub is this weekend's task. I'll let you know how it goes but looking at yours I suspect, 'not well' will be the answer!
  3. Thanks chaps. Can certainly recommend the quality of the conversions Carl and John is a good guy to deal with.
  4. Just realised I hadn't updated this. Been too busy having fun with the conversion. So the current status..... Cockpit all painted and weathered and attached to the front wheel bay. All the resin bits fitted nicely but the kit decals for the instruments were poor. Main gear bays assembled, painted and weathered. Engine painted and assembled. The resin burner can has been primed but still needs painting, Just attached it here to check the fit - perfect as all the conversion parts seem to be! First scary bit done! Chopped out original leading edges and added the big dogtooths. Also filled the gaps in board and will add the plates where the wing fences go from .5mm plasticard. All sanded and rescribed, so next job is to attach these to the lower fuselage part. Will try and post more regular updates from here. Looking at Kai and Alberto's excellent builds, there's still lots of cuss factor to come.
  5. Yeah, saw that on the news. Glad the crew are fine and hope they can get the money together to rebuild it. Doubt it was insured as premiums seem to be idiotic for these things.
  6. Ah, that makes sense. I listened to the Till Lindemann track the other day and wondered why he was singing in Russian but this puts it in context. Looks an interesting film.
  7. Lovely job getting those all to line up.
  8. Congratulations Mark, great news.
  9. Hope you've got plenty of empty space to display these Martin, they'll take up some serious real estate!
  10. Thanks for passing that on Maru. RIP Dale, a very talented drummer and, as others have said, a wonderful human who LIVED his life!
  11. Personally don't mind female vocals if in the right register. Often listen to Girlschool, Lacuna Coil or Skunk Anansie. The last mentioned are worth checking out as their lead singer, Skin, has an amazing vocal range. They were championed a lot by Lemmy of Motorhead quite a few years ago and they (Motorhead) were often supported by female fronted bands such as Skew Siskin and Girlschool among others. I do know what you mean about the Mariah Carey's and such of the world. Just hit the bloody note, you don't need to warble all around the damn thing....
  12. Occasionally I'll listen to some classical - Mussorgsky, Katchaturian, Tchaikovsky, etc (hmm, why I haven't I built more Russian stuff??), but generally it's punk, metal and hard rock most of the time. It needs to be loud to be heard over the compressor is my excuse!
  13. Don't worry Gaz, I did exactly the same on my AMX-13. Only when I posted the pics on here did I notice it.
  14. Look great and a very quick turnaround!
  15. I've also used dawngrocerystore many times and never had any issues. Good prices for Trumpy and HB kits and shipping times have always been reasonable.
  16. Even made the BBC news over here. Very neat ditching and lucky the beach was quite quiet.
  17. Can't believe some of that work. For a start, how do you hold a part that small in tweezers without launching it into the wild blue yonder?....
  18. Not sure we Brits are on the strongest ground slagging anyone else off for our WWII tank designs. We came up with a few clunkers of our own and were a bit bailed out by the M4, although we did have the sense to put a decent gun in it!
  19. Keeping it local Kev? Looks great so far.
  20. Not a good situation. Risk is very low for the clots but the J&J vaccine, which is similar technology, also seems to perhaps have the same issue if the news from the US is correct. Bit worrying. Stay safe.
  21. Great beaten-up look to this.
  22. The AK Extreme Metals are brilliant to work with and very robust once done. No problems with masking etc
  23. I can think of a few of my builds that would benefit from a close encounter with that!
  24. Looks great. Unfortunately in better condition than the original at the moment. Hasn't had much luck recently and collided with a pier on one of it's first trips after a major refit.
