What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

Don't think you should have too long to wait Carl. John seems to be making good progress on the two seater. The quality of the resin and castings is excellent so I'd heartily recommend. -

Okay, this is the next project. Was planning to finish the CHET but I just couldn't resist starting this one. May try to do both together. So, it's the Revell boxing of the Mirage with John Wiedeman from Scaleworx's excellent Cheetah E conversion. Never done a big resin conversion like this so just hope I can do it justice. Having had my finger's burned with the Typhoon starting point was to roughly tape together the main airframe to check it's going to fit in the display cabinet after it's finished. Yes! -

Thanks Harv and Ron. All your scratch work on the road train makes stuff like this appear kind of lame. -

Thanks chaps. It was good fun but beware if you do one, it takes up more real estate than you think. -
Just finished this one. First Airfix kit I've built in 30+ years, so a few thoughts. I like the general engineering but I'm not keen on the soft plastic and the amount of clean-up required due to misalignment of the moulds, especially on fine details like the cockpit framing. As with some other manufacturers, the option to leave everything open means that nothing fits particularly well if you want to build things closed up. That's especially true with the engine covers. However, despite these little gripes, it was a fun build and makes a surprisingly substantial model. In fact it doesn't fit in my cabinet, so will have to sit on top. That surprised me as a 1/32 F15C fits and it's fairly sizeable. AM used included Brassin wheels, HGW belts, Maketar masks for all markings bar the stencils, RB radiator and Master rockets which are very nice. All main painting was with Tamiya acrylics. I've used Ammo paints on all my recent builds but went back to Tamiya for this as they're just a bit more robust for lots of handling. I'd also forgotten just how nicely they spray.

Last visit to the bench for this one, then into the display cabinet. If it fits! Will post some other pics in the finished work section. -
Love the worn leather look on the jump seats.

If you wanna build a jet, that's where to start. Goes together like a dream.

Wouldn't trust Zuckerberg to cross the road, never mind make reasoned decisions. Just another reason why I avoid all social media.

Looking great Peter. Pity about the Sufa issues, but I've always found resin intakes a mixed bag. -

Know the feeling Carl. Especially with PE belts, I usually end up with at least one part stuck to me. -

Looks great Dan. You just need a few Arbroath Smokies in those boxes. -
That's pretty damn shiny without a gloss coat. This is going to look great Mark.

Great to hear something turned up so quickly for you.

The renders and images so far do look stunning. Now kind of regret I didn't have the cojones to pull the trigger on the pre-order. Just too intimidated by all that resin but they are stunning in the splinter scheme, just raw power and functionality.

Looks great Mark. Still one of the coolest F1 liveries ever in my eyes. -
HobbyBoss' 1/32nd B-24D Liberator
GusMac replied to ThomasProbert's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looks great Tom. For a kit that got so much hate when it came out, it looks like it builds well and it looks like a Liberator to me.- 29 replies

Worth the wait Ricardo. Nice finish with subtle weathering.

Weird here as well. Went from -15C or so to +12C in 48 hrs so now everything is flooded as the snow melt in the mountains has happened so suddenly.

Stunning work again Rich. How many of those stringers pinged off into space before you got it done?
-
Insane level of detail in this. Hat's off for getting started on this knowing what's to come.

Looking forward to see what you do with this. Rowdy has set the bar pretty high for 190 builds at the moment....- 344 replies

Daft project or is it? 1/32 Short Stirling III
GusMac replied to Wingco57's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
This will be cool. I always reckon you must have been at risk of vertigo sitting in the cockpit of these, they seemed so high.
