  1. I'd second Rob and say stick with the stock gold ones. They're the ones I remember on the diecast kit I had as a kid - brush painted in black enamel with the gold wheels I thought it looked killer! Brush marks everywhere.... wish I was so easily pleased now.
  2. Nice finish, especially the dust effects. Good if you make a mess of the tracks!
  3. Happy New Year to one and all. Here's to a better one. I liked this logo that someone did for the year just past....
  4. Another vote for the Macchi, that's a stunning paintjob!
  5. Same to you Phil. Hope the new year brings you a bit more security.
  6. Good tip Jeff. One of the reasons I've bought regularly from a couple of ebay sellers in China. They are always 'creative' on the value, so never been hit by customs taxes yet. The Japanese sellers are scrupulously honest on the other hand and I've been hammered every time. What look like cheap deals on Tamiya kits never are once you factor that in!
  7. Congrats to all. Some great prizes there.
  8. Have a wonderful time everyone. Here's hoping for a better 2021.
  9. Haven't bought any kits with a 2020 release but my purchase of the year has to be the Dspaie side cutters. Amazing quality and cut through any plastic I've tried them on smooth as you like.
  10. Hi Carl It's called the Reaper and it's fully seaworthy so it's often out at events around the east coast of Scotland and Northumberland, so it may have been away when you were there. Did you have a fish supper at the Anstruther Fish Bar when you were there? Good evidence as to why we Scots are the heart attack capital of the world! They'll even deep fry you a Mars Bar in Scotland!!
  11. Yeah, the scale of Texas is mind-boggling by European standards. The distance across Texas west to east is only about 80 km shorter that the distance from where I live in NE Scotland to Most itself!
  12. Congrats on a stunning build. There are still a couple of these around, including one at the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, and you've got the look and weathering spot on.
  13. Think production is in Obrnice and the warehouse was in Most, so although it's a big blow it should hopefully be recoverable. Boy this Christmas keeps giving......
  14. Was also going to point that out Hubert as I think it reflects the topic of another recent thread! Interesting video though.
  15. Lack of talent mainly Gaz!
  16. And that picture sums up why I haven't had the balls to attempt my one and only WNW kit yet!
  17. Hi Gaz Must be the joys of a hot climate! Flies ain't a big problem in Scotland but the midges we have..... Anyway, we have what looks like a similar hood and on it the stainless steel hood is just held in place by a few grub screws. I was wondering if you could pop it off and apply a seal up the inside using a draught excluder type material which might be more unobtrusive? Silicon will certainly adhere to the stainless steel but getting neat bead is hard although you can get tools like this online which certainly make things easier Haquno 17 Pieces Kit Silicone Sealant Finishing Tool Grout Scraper Remover Nozzle and Caulk Caps (Yellow): Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools
  18. Gotta agree. Such a cool looking beast and the big Shillelagh launcher on the front. Remember war gaming with these as a kid back in the early 80s and they were totally hit and miss - 50% chance of a hit but if you got one it blew anything apart!
  19. Thanks Smitty. Thought that would be the case. I've never quite understood what the levels of violence/indiscipline in our inter-services games say about the participants or the organisations!
  20. Better stocked than most hobby stores. They'd go bankrupt carrying that stock!
  21. Although we get the NFL and a fair bit of college football over here in the UK there's no coverage of games like this. The inter-services rugby games over here can be brutal, just punch-ups from start to finish. Is the Army-Navy game the same or are the referees pretty strict on foul play? The professional game seems very strict on dirty stuff.
  22. Looks great. Like the weathering of the exhausts.
  23. Good one. The one at the front certainly has two stomachs, not sure if he's a dog or a bin on legs!
  24. That's a lot of grey Lego! Must have taken forever to put together.
  25. Our two looking uncharacteristically peaceful sitting on my Dad. Salty in the foreground and Mitzi using him as a pillow.
