That green the Soviets used always makes me think they nicked them off an old John Deere. Great result Rob. It's got serious presence even in 48th scale.

Seems like there are 2 versions as well. A full engine and the simpler set that Phil pictured if you just want something accurate in the cowling. Not cheap though.

Have a good one. Another Corsair to celebrate???

Back in the 80s you used to get highlights of the Bathurst enduro on TV over here in the UK on a Saturday afternoon show called World of Sport. As a teenager it always looked so cool and a very scenic track.

Nice score Rog. The idea of a 1/16 tank does appeal, so interesting to hear that you feel the HB kit is a bit simple. That would certainly be reflected in the relative prices of them over here. The T-72 might tempt me yet as I grew up wargaming with those Cold War beasts.

They look pretty good to me for their size Rob. Is it just me or does the one on the right look like Kirk Douglas?? I'd second Gaz on the Metal Colour paints. They're easy to use and I've always got a good result with them. The pale burnt metal is especially good.

I work in Aberdeen and we've just gone back into a local lockdown today due to an outbreak related to people breaking isolation and going to bars. Yahoo! Cue a hectic afternoon at the hospital where I work trying to determine whether we're back to cancelling all non-urgent cancer patients etc. Crap I could have lived without! -

Glad to hear Karim and his loved ones are safe. The video footage of the blast is astonishing with the pressure wave so visible. As Ernie says a beautiful city in a lovely country that just doesn't deserve the fate it's suffered in recent years. My parents went to winery in the Bekaa valley many, many years ago and raved about the place and the people. Thanks for the update Ernie. -
Have a great day Carl.

Go for it. This is the link to the one I finished last year Not perfect by any means but I had a blast doing it and learned a lot about new techniques and ideas.

There was a spate a few years back around Aberdeen of gangs stealing engines to order from high spec vehicles. There were quite a few tales of folk going out in the morning, turning the key and getting nothing, then popping the bonnet as above and seeing the driveway where the engine should be! They were obviously bloody good at it as they could remove the engine in the dark without making enough noise to disturb anyone. They were only caught as someone had one of the first home CCTV setups and the police were able to track the registration of their vehicle.

Looks great Rob. I'm sure the scratches will be less obvious after a panel line wash and weathering.
-
Very nice Rob. It really breaks up the 'sameness' of the grey and looks very realistic. When I did my Greek SLUF I used stuff called Incredible White Mask as the liquid frisket and it worked really well and came off easily. I can't remember who I saw recommended it but it's from the USA and works nicely but has a rather strong ammonia smell before it dries.

Been there Carl. You don't have feel a plonker but kind of happy with it! -
Have a great day Rog, although given how far ahead you are you'll have already had it. Hope it was good anyway!

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Skymaster Hubert. It's an airframe that's always appealed to me but I've seen some variable reviews of the kit, so would be good to get the thoughts of someone who's opinion you trust.
-
Yeah was in the 5 year plan Jeff and this has just brought it forward. Gonna be a lot of cheap airframe aluminium available soon...
-
Lovely outcome even if not quite how intended! The 'extra' wash gives a lovely used look although as Rob says a bit hard on the nerves!!
-
Ooh, nice Carl. Would love to see your Sheridan built - as you say I haven't seen one done anywhere and I've always had a soft spot for it for some reason.
-
Sounds like this situation is causing a lot of airlines to come to the same conclusion. Days of the 'jumbos', 747 and A-380 seem done. As Jeff says it's a real shame as it's such an iconic shape.
-
Nice dusty look Gaz. The last pic is a great help for how I think I'll weather the tracks on the AMX-30B2 I've got on the go at the moment.
-
Thanks Carl. Lemon fresh models!! Let us know how your boys get on with it.
-
Hi Carl, what's the Limonene cement? Not one I've seen in the UK.

Glad to hear you've had some success securing your business Hubert. Challenging times for all. Looking forward to seeing you get back to this.
