  1. Wow Doug!!! Nice build! I just love how you tackle these pre ww2 subjects.. You do your magic..
  2. That looks great johann! Is that the NEO resin logo in the top right corner?
  3. Hi Doug, Thnx! I did some checking and found a review of this kit. Here the kit was put over scale drawings and seemed to check out. 1.25 inches translates to almost 1mm in 1/32. This should be easy to fix! Cheers, Jeroen
  4. Okeeee... got the engine together. Time for paint and then to add the electrical wires. The frame that actually holds the engine is well... make your own.
  5. Wow... This is great news. Thnx for sharing this here on LSM!! Curious to see what the end product will look like!
  6. Hi Rich, Hadn't caught up with your epic build. Truly and utterly amazing. A feast to the eyes... Cheers, Jeroen
  7. Thnx guys! As a matter of fact this little bugger is fighting me somewhat. The Contact Resine pit is a nice addition but puzzling. In the Hyperscale review i found, there were PE doors. Well... not in mine! No problem. I'll scratch them. The quality of the resin is not amazing. Especially when you compare it to the Vector bits. I started work on the engine. It's a licensed russian built Wright R-1280, called the Shvetsov M-25. You can get the engine alone OR the total engine / gunbay. I got both and I'm picking the nicest cast parts from both set. That explains the two colours of resin. Oh! And the instructions look like they were drawn by a monkey. Mounting all the bases for the pushrods was done when just awake. The brain is not fully booted yet which is great for boring repetitive work. Cheers!
  8. Licking my fingers.... dammit. we need an emoticon for that..
  9. Nice! Eyeballed it over on FB eatlier today. Love the wear on the tail..
  10. Your pit turned out amazing... And that gunsight is just the cherry on top..
  11. My name is Jeroen Peters and I'm a user of CA accelerator. One thing I've noticed though is that the bond is stronger without the accelerator. The accelerator makes it britle.
  12. I think we can safely assume the EZ has no connotation to the word Easy.
  13. I sure does! Like it flew out of a cartoon Felt like spraying the pit but noticed I hadn't glued any PE in there yet. So quickly did that and started painting the IP. Full speed ahead!
  14. I know this forum is getting big when I have to scroll and search for my own topics Here's some proof the Ninak did not stall. Some rigging done:
  15. Hole crap! When you're finished with that.. Keep it next to the door for unwanted guests! Huge...
  16. Yes Grant. Skids. But I won't use ant Skid markings Here's some resin in the pit:
  17. Hi Cees, Set... and taking shape. The nose has been cut off. The gun fairings have been cut out. And the forward lower wing fairing has been removed with brute force. Resin sidewalls in place. Doors cut out (these will feature PE open doors). In reality the cowling slitted over the forward fuselage and that feature is nicely replicated in resin. Very thin. And yes... this baby will have skids.
  18. Hi Johann, Just finished downloading both books. Really cool and much appreciated. I just got a pop up window with a naked lady but I'm not complaining Thanks again. Especially the drawings in the first book are welcome. They show me how the wood panels turn around the fuselage.
  19. Hi Johann, Thank you so much for this info! All small pieces of info are welcome, but you're bringing it by the truckloads! And, on top of that, I found a f*ckbuddy when trying to download the pdf Love your signature banner too. Cheers, Jeroen
  20. Hi Grant, the misses said it was alright. As long as I clean up after me I did some rigorous rigging on the Ninak today, but after one glass of wine I switch to the more... well... crude chopping on the I-16. This is the page I'm using as a reference by the way. Bookmarked it years ago for a day like this... http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Modeling/Polikarpov/I-16/Type5/Azur/FullBuild/Sekularac/
  21. Hackin' away! Almost half of the fuselage has been cut away. Making room for resin. Not a terribly good fit and poor instructions, but I'll get there...
  22. Today my Vector Resin full engine and engine bay/cowling arrived. Just beautiful chuncks of lovely resin... I already had a Vector engine for this kit, but that is useless unless: - you're content with having a resin engine of 20+ euro's only to be seen through the small cowling louvres, - or you're willing to scratch the entire mounting frame and cowling panels. The wood grain decals are on their way. James taught me a great trick. Drop them in Cava instead of water. I brings out a richness. He discovered this by accident I have to add. Cheers! Jeroen
  23. Doogs, Bare in mind: if you pull it off.... you're pulling it too hard!
