Hey all I'm back!...new build coming 1/16 pz.kpf iv

Recommended Posts

Hey all

I'm going to be starting a new build.  A Trumpeter 1/16 Panzer IV ausf. H with full interior! Over 2000 parts!  I want to do this as accurately as possible ( I'm not that great on German armor) so I will need as much help as possible, stuff like colors for interior items, did they paint the road wheels with the camo scheme on ausf. H, etc.,etc. I'm going to be doing it in a late 44 early 45 Western Europe scheme. This is the kit.

10290207p_m.jpgI've  ordered up some Tamiya paints and a bunch of stuff from AFV Modeller in England. Everything is in the mail, hopefully it will be here before my 72nd birthday (Oct. 31)🎃. So when the kit gets here I'll give you all an update. P. S. I will be doing a diorama for this also. I figure with the amount of parts in this kit it's going to take a lloonngg time! I'm going to do a build for this to. So see you all later.

Hey all

Ok, after doing some research I discovered that Panzer IV's during 1944 through early 1945 had zimmerit!!! :omg::wallbash: So I just ordered some from Atak (in poland I think) hopefully it will get here around the same time as the tank. I got the full set, including the shurzen pieces. I think this build is really going to task my skills, I'm definitely going to be asking a lot of questions from you guys.

First question is "what color was the floor in the main driver/radio oper. area" I've come across red oxide primer, RAL 7009 grey-green, etc.? Anybody have any idea what color? Ok I'll go back to watching out for those pesky squirrels.  lol

Welcome back Ron, it’s be awhile. 1/35 is the largest I’ve gone on tanks but never say never. I recently did a RFM Pz IV H. The RFM instructions were very good, look up the instructions on Scalemates of the RFM Pz IV H full interior they did give some painting advise……..link here….

Hey all

The tank showed up today! Woo hoo! I have the Atak zimmerit, all the paint, I think, some extra parts from AFV Modeller.

My modeling area needs a complete overhaul, theres so much stuff cramed in there I can't move. So my son and I are going to redue it all. I got some risers for my tables, they sit around 35"-36" high and these will raise them to 42" so I don't have to bend over so much.

When I get everything back together I will be doing a in box, very HUGE box, look around showing the Atak zimmerit and extra parts from AFV Modeller. So see you all in a few days.

Hey, looking forward to your build! I have a bunch of 1/16 kits including three Trumpeter

T-34's and their big SU-100. I would like to start one.....but honestly, my "work bench"...

(a modestly sized table) Really isn't big enough. Last year i built a Trumpeter 1/16 T-72,

but I kind of gave up on it......Really it just needs painting to be finished... Perhaps your

build will give me the motivation to finish it.
