smitty44 Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 .....and welcome the newest stealth bomber to the US arsenal. Tonight the B-21 Raider will be unveiled. https://www.northropgrumman.com/what-we-do/air/b-21-raider/ 4 1
Peterpools Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Back to the latest and most likely the greatest: B-21. I was also struct by the fact that the B2 is around 30 years old .... where did those years go. The legacy of John Northrup lives and is with us. 4 1
ScottsGT Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Yes Hubert, this country has become very polarized. It’s a sad situation. I’m going to leave the first comment up to Ernie if he wants to edit it further or delete it all together. So back to the subject at hand….How does the B-21 differ from the B-2? At first glance they look like the same aircraft. 3
Martinnfb Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Seems to be much smaller, which is not necessarily a bad thing considering the downsizing of the modern avionics and weaponry. 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 3, 2022 Administrators Posted December 3, 2022 Guys… Please. NO MORE! I hid the political post and others that quoted it. Let’s have this a onetime thing. Thanks again! 2 3
BlrwestSiR Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Reminds me of the B-3 from Broken Arrow, the John Woo film. Which isn't that hard I guess. They're both flying wings. Carl 3
smitty44 Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 B-21 will be just as much about controlling the battlespace as it is about dropping munitions. 3
ScottsGT Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Interesting concept. Costs more, delivers half the payload. Probably gets the delivery done a lot faster though. Are they shelving the B-2 or will it stay active for specific roles? I wonder what the support time is per hour of flight vs. the B-2? So when will they start up a new B-52 assembly line. That’s the design I find amazing that has been redesigned and kept in service so long. I just saw the latest upgrades coming for it. 2

Likely it will control munitions dropped from other aircraft as well like the F-35 is capable of. 2
Peterpools Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 I'm sure the B-21, as with the F-35 will also be controlling a large number of drones. The world is surely changing 2 1
belugawhaleman Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Sorry about the political post....it really wasn't seriously meant. 1 2

That’s why I didn’t take action. The smack down is the last resort, and I refuse to go there unless absolutely needed. But in the heart of LSM, let’s self moderate. Makes my job easier. 🤣 5

GazzaS Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Looks the same as the old one. Guess it couldn't get any stealthy-er. 3
