Like me, I’m sure you simply accept it. It’s life. They complained about Revell’s Hurricane, Kotare’s Spitfire la, Infinity’s Helldiver and Vampire, and yes, even Tamiya’s Corsair. If they didn’t complain, you’d ask yourself if they’d been struck dumb by lightning This kit, to me, is an absolute Must Do. HPH/Infinity is choosing its subjects carefully, and, as Hubert said, sales won’t be huge, so the price will be slightly higher. Some won’t want it do to price, others due to subject, and many more simply because they lack the skill necessary to build the thing. (Yes, those folks exist) Instead, they sit at home and complain. Thankfully, those aren’t the types we attract here. This will be a bench clearing event when it arrives. Well, it seems like HPH is not happy with the sales results of their Infinity IM kits, compared to the amount of work it implies for them, especially for a 4-people operation, and are thinking the Val might be their last one, not even bothering with releasing the Kate. That would be a shame, really. This said, I have bought plenty of HPH kits, but was not interested by the Helldiver nor the Vampire. Maybe they’d have sold more if they had chosen a subject with a Swastika. But the issue is also that they got a lot of flak for the quality of the Helldiver, and many people have started bashing Infinity without even seeing the Helldiver kit (which can be built in a great replica, as John and Ernie have demonstrated here). 1/32 aviation is already a niche per se. So a lot of 1/32 kits are a niche within a niche (and I am a buyer of niches within niches, therefore I am a resin-kits buyer). Choosing the right subject is a challenge in itself, and it’s easy to derail a business with a glitch in image or product choice. But we need to encourage the initiatives, and behaving like spoilt children is not always the best way to support the risk-taking of businesses. I am not necessarily a fan of the Val (or of any WWII fighter or bomber), but may buy one if it’s a way to encourage Infnity. Hubert 2
Peterpools
Hubert Well said and it's a shame that Infinity has decided to 'leave' the IM 32nd scale arena. I've read a number of posts and followed some discussions and the consensus of opinion seems to be (whether right or wrong); the quality of the kit in general, subject and the need to purchase the AM detail sets that some feel a portion of those details should have been included with the kit, was a very large reason for slow and poor sales. In a way, sort of a reflection of Kitty Hawk's demise with the quality and fit of their kits. I'm only a bystander as I haven't bought any of the Infinity kits mainly as I do not enjoy a good fight in building a kit these days. There would be exceptions for me based on subject: give me an accurate P-51B and P-38 and I would be first on the pre order line.
npb748r
The Modelling News has posted pictures from the Shizuoka hobby show, some interesting stuff shown, I thought, not much in the way of new 1/32 aircraft a fair amount of stuff there of interest to me. Peterpools
Neil Thank you for the link. I did see a few new kits that I didn't know were being released this year, with one being a Beech H18 in 1/48th scale, nothing more classic except a Staggerwing.

I’d sell at least 3 kidneys to get a 1/32 Beech 18 (and a good 17 as well - having in the stash both the Scratchbuilders’ resin kit and the old ITC / Staggerwings Unlimited IM « kit », I know what « good » means ) Hubert
Peterpools
Hubert Don't think there is much of a chance we will ever see them in 32nd scale but I'm hoping as you.

Peterpools
Thanks Hubert I'll be ordering when the kit is ready to ship. I'm still going cartwheels over the Sea Fury and for me, it's a clear the bench kit.
Bomber_County
RedFox Studio new releases, amazingly they are now doing powered-on / powered- off displays…………. https://www.themodellingnews.com/2023/05/review-quick-set-3d-acrylic-interior.html#more
Peterpools
Paul I have seen reviews of the newer sets with power on/power off displays and they look great. I wish Red Fox would include seatbelt and harnesses as Quinta does, a big savings in total cost. Not saying Quinta's seatbelts are the equal of let's say HGW, but for me, they are fine and I always use them.
