BlrwestSiR
Sometimes it's just plain dangerous surfing the web, especially online hobby shops. Great Hobbies here in Canada is having a sale with 15% off ICM kits. I'm looking at their 1/48 Mig-25 kits when I see the CH-54 and before I know what's happened, I have one. @Fran just did a review on this release along with @Clunkmeister's review of the original version tells me it'll be as enjoyable a build as their AH-1 Cobra was. I'll have to get the rotor fold set from Reskit if I hope to have any chance of displaying it when I'm done. 7
belugawhaleman
Some items...... From Tamiya ; their Semovente M42 da75/34 German Army (37029) This is an Italeri collaboration kit. This is the Semovente with a larger gun as used by the Germans. It looks like a decent kit, with interior details, and some new figures added by Tamiya. The tracks are not so great, however, I already have a set of Friulmodel tracks for this thing. With the size of the vehicle and the larger gun, recoil must have been a nightmare. Also today, a set of micro drill bits from CML supply. These have straight shanks and give you the length needed to work on Friul tracks. They are HSS and less likely to snap than the Tungsten drill bits. Last, 3 bottles of Testors DullcoteTop Coat . This is my go-to clear flat. Mixed 50/50 with Tamiya lacquer thinner, works every time.

Peterpools
Paul Nice small haul for sure. I remember back in the day when Dullcote and Glosscote were the only game in town and I used them on every build. Times have surely changed and I don't use either as much as I use to, but both are still in my paint supply racks and Dullcote does get the call to action every so often.

Carl, Thats one of those kits I keep looking at thinking I should buy, but then I ask myself will I really build it? I already have two choppers on the SOD. Do I need to add to it? Helo’s seem like a good idea to me, but I cannot seem to follow through. I have the highly sought after 1/48 Academy/MRC CH-53E in the stash and I’m afraid to break the seal thinking it too will wind up on the the SOD.
BlrwestSiR
Scott, rotor span is the biggie for me. The AH-1 is great since it's only a twin rotor so easy enough to put it inline with the fuselage. If there wasn't the rotor fold upgrade, I probably wouldn't have picked the kit up.

ScottsGT
Well I was supposed to be posting pics of the Master Models A-10 brass gun tips I ordered for my two kits. Of course our wonderful postal system seems to have an issue finding my package now. It hit our main distribution center Tuesday and I was supposed to get them yesterday. Tracking has it listed as “In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late” Last two times that happened they never showed. 2
ScottsGT
But this just showed up from Taiwan. Looks like I can now jump back on the Phantom bandwagon with these and BiggTim’s early wingtips for the Revell Phantoms! Now if I could just get this resin albatross off my bench and in the display case I’d have it made!

belugawhaleman
Some items....... From FineMolds, their Type 89 Otsu (FM 62) in 1/35. I've been looking for this kit for some time.. This is a 2024 reboxing with some stowage added. It had been offered in the past as a "Girls and Panzer" kit and I had only seen it on Amazon before at ridiculous prices or other places always sold out. I found this at Burbanks house of hobbies. Next; from Vallejo, a big spray-can of their Fantasy Pale Flesh (28024). I'm going to use this stuff on some figure builds coming up...... From Dspiae their AT-PL Aluminum Alloy Panel Liner. Looks good ,well-made. Works like an old-time nib pen. Also from Dispiae; A couple of bottles of their Fluorescent paint in red and white. I also got some replacement blades, nibs, and a replacement cutting pad for my Dspiae products. Last from Microscale Decals, Railroad Gothic letters and Numbers Black (90102) I added a picture of the Type 89 5

They should surely give you a huge discount as you have become their number one fan and after we have seen some much of their tools through your update, You're a great ambassador for sure.

It’s still being driven around on a tour of postal facilities. Columbia processing center is roughly 45 min to an hour down the road. I wonder how many time it will bounce back and fourth?

I placed an order from a hobby shop 30 km away. Canada Post sent it to a depot 3,000 km away, then back again. So what should have been next day took 2 weeks. That being said, I did get this today after it was ent out yesterday afternoon so it's not always bad.

Yes, love the Dspiae stuff!. I'm mostly buying tools and supplies now. I will buy a model occasionally.... Like that type 89...been looking for that one for years...it's now sold out at the place I bought it. The fluorescent paint from Dspiae is pretty good. I plan to use it in a Pegasus War of the Worlds War Machine. I found that if it is painted on the inside surface of a clear plastic part it will still glow through the plastic in the presence of UV light. It will also glow through the plastic if backlit by a UV LED. This works even if the transparent part is a transparent green or whatever color. Cool effect...worth experimenting with.
