Yes, a Cayman 981 GTS from 2015. Still with an athmospheric 3.4 litres flat-6. No turbo, no silly 4-cylinders like with the 718 that followed. And the GTS has the the special switch that goes with the « sport » exhaust. The sound is just unbelievable. After all, if you own a Porsche, it’s as much to listen to it than to look at it, isn’t it ;) ?

PS: just to avoid any misinterpretation, the modern Porsche engines with a turbo are just fantastic pieces of engineering, and thanks to the turbo, are incredibly fuel-efficient for their performance, just as they meet the stringent Euro6 norm. But the turbo is an  effective muffler that has to a degree « castrated » some of the sound character of the flat-6.

Then, I needed cash to buy a piece of land, on which to build my future house, so I sold it.

Fast forward by 4 years, and we sold, very well, the house that was built on the said piece of land…

So I bought a new key-holder ….

A bit small to live in, compared to the sold house, I guess, but gratulations anyway, what a nice ride :thumbsup2:.

Cheers Rob

Well, we have already bought a new piece of land in another area of Portugal, and will get yet another house built there (for which I have already drawn the plans, like the one we sold). Let’s say we created enough value with the first one that I could divert some funds to the car ;)

And in the meantime, moving soon to a rented house until the new one is finished …

Well, our remodel of one bay in our car barn is slowly coming together. The bar is Hickory, and the wall planks are from shipping pallets.
I just gave it one coat of clear oil based treatment.  I’ll do one more tomorrow. That Hickory positively glows with warmth.
It turned out even better than I thought.
Once the walls are ready, we have a bunch of old automotive related signs and memorabilia for the walls.

Looks amazing.

A couple questions Ernie.

1)- is the roof electric or pneumatic?

2)- what are you going to be dispensing through the gas pumps? Your famous moonshine? :D

Carl

Ha!

The roof is electrically operated through a system of levers, screw jacks, counterbalance springs, relays, and limit switches.   All automatic with a simple push of a button.
