Further work on the navalization involved swapping the landing gear out. The original gear leg on the left is a bit, spindly. I cut down a spare set of F-14 legs instead. The nose gear is also swapped out, again for F-14 bits. 4
BlrwestSiR Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I just did a very quick mock up to see how things look. Nothing's glued so it's all a bit skewed. 4

HubertB Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Just like on the original, you need to increase the take-off incidence by lengthening the nose gear leg, à la Cutlass or UK Phantom FG-2 … just my two cents Hubert 3

ScottsGT Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Just started a WIP thread. But don’t expect much yet. Today was my day of hell in the heat. I started the day picking up a load of sod for a huge low and dead spot in the yard. 4
BlrwestSiR Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Man, putting down sod is not fun at all. Scott, where you are do you have any trouble with wildlife mucking up the sod? Here, the raccoons love to roll it up back up at night and dig for grubs. So you end up having to roll the sod back out again every morning. So it can take forever for it to take root as a result. 1
ScottsGT Posted June 18 Posted June 18 My only issue are your damned Canada geese. Can’t you keep those buggers up there and out of my hair? I don’t mind them coming in the yard and eating bugs and weeds. But when they poop everywhere it turns the yard into a minefield and my pup thinks the Easter bunny left her Tootsie Rolls to snack on. Lately I’ve been turning on my irrigation system when I see them out there. They run like their butts are on fire! I’m getting too much enjoyment out of it. It’s great to have an app on my phone for the system. Since I have a hose spigot out there I might buy some of those sprinkler heads with motion sensors to deter wildlife. I think my neighbor has reached his limits and is about to start taking them out with a pellet rifle. 4
Martinnfb Posted June 18 Author Posted June 18 I know that they are protected by law, but... I always wondered how tasty they actually are? They are also quite big, " turkey" dinner every week 1
ScottsGT Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I know some states allow them to be hunted. And they are considered a nuisance wildlife in some states as well. My daughter works at a summer camp in VA. The geese had taken over the main activity field and small lake. They got permits to exterminate them. She said it was bad, like 50-75 of them taking over the place. 1
GusMac Posted June 18 Posted June 18 The Canada geese are protected over here but are a complete pain - they've turned the grass areas in some public parks into something that resembles the Somme. I think a few folk would fancy taking a few out given the chance. Not convinced I'd want to eat one though, given their diet I suspect they might be a bit 'oily' 2
belugawhaleman Posted Saturday at 10:35 PM Posted Saturday at 10:35 PM Ok....something you probably won't see here often,...but it is large scale (1/12). Well, I've accumulated a bunch of these " Egg Girl" things from Hasegawa.....so I decided to actually build one. So, here she is, Claire Frost in her flight suit. I like the MR Color paints....this is my first time using these.....good paint. I especially like the Mr Color semi gloss clear. This build went well, despite the decals needing a little extra attention and lots of Walther's Solvaset to get them settled. Anyway, a little diversion. My next project will be the DAS WERK panzer III in 1/16 . Something big coming😀 4
BlrwestSiR Posted Saturday at 11:53 PM Posted Saturday at 11:53 PM Claire looks great there Paul. Nice work on the paint job. 2 1
