Martinnfb Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 1975 Reno, I don't know what it is, but it is not battery 2
Martinnfb Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Are those guys sitting on a portable battery unit ? 2
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 16, 2019 Administrators Posted April 16, 2019 Tony, I have a feeling the battery was moved. If you want to change it, I have an unstarted kit that’s gonna put on its wartime uniform, so I’ll swap you that one for a new one if you wish. 3

I went back and studied the pictures and I dont think there was anything behind the pilots seat. Reason being, theres not a fuel port anymore on the fuselage side for the cockpit fuel tank. Now I need to contemplate how to correct this or if i can... 3
Martinnfb Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Tony, projects like this are full of backtracking, but at the end you gonna have one, sick racer. Keep on pushing. Cheers M. 2
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 18, 2019 Administrators Posted April 18, 2019 Tony, come raid my unopened Tamiya kit. I had a feeling about the battery and radio from the beginning. Those wartime things were nothing but dead weight on a racer. 4
TJTX Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 Important parts rescued successfully!! Now to remove the tank, and cover with plastic card I guess? 4

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 18, 2019 Administrators Posted April 18, 2019 150 ft agl, inverted, shifted load, one’s feathered, the other’s well and truly ablaze, oh, and you can’t find you Jepp charts. Now what? Adapt and overcome? Or quickly call the tower to start filming because it’s going to quickly get really spectacular. 1
TJTX Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 I dont need my charts at 150 ft, with one feathered I'll let her roll on her own back to upright flight, and the shifted load gives me access to the emergency exits when I slide to a stop while the 2nd one burns.... Damn I'm good! 4
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 18, 2019 Administrators Posted April 18, 2019 Alright Ace McCool, you win. Hehehe 4
Martinnfb Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 You guys have to take me skydiving one day. I like your style 3
TJTX Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 Drop tanks are here!! Way better than what I had and the correct size too. You can see the noticeable difference between the two sizes. 3

I just ordered some archer rivets to add a little detailing to the rear area. I'm honestly having a blast with this build and will certainly look into more civilian builds very soon. 4
