BlrwestSiR Posted March 31, 2020 Author Posted March 31, 2020 Thanks Ernie! I've sprayed the yellow panels on the underside. Once that's dry, I'll start on the upper side camo. Carl 7
BlrwestSiR Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 The nice thing about spraying Mr Color is how fast it dries. I've managed to start on the upper side camo. 5 1
Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 It's great to see this kit coming together. I failed this kit twice. Keep going Carl. 3 1

BlrwestSiR Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 Ugh, I went down to the bench this morning looking to mask off and spray the second colour for the upper camo. After I finished masking off the paint from yesterday, I realized that I used the wrong colour. The areas I painted were in RLM 75 instead of 76. Or is that the other way around? Or was it supposed to be RLM 74? Anyways, I stripped the masking and I've painted the correct sections of the plane so hopefully will try again tonight. 5
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 1, 2020 Administrators Posted April 1, 2020 Stellar work so far 5
BlrwestSiR Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 So here's what the 109 looks like at the moment. So much for a two tone camo. Thankfully it's easy enough to fix. I'll just spray the RLM 75 where it's supposed to go. I hope. 4 1
Ryan Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I've sprayed wrong colors before, it happens and you will be fine. 3 2
BlrwestSiR Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 And with the correct colours in their proper place. 6

BlrwestSiR Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 I've now added the RLM 70 squiggles to the fuselage sides. The white wash coat will be next. 5 1

BlrwestSiR Posted April 2, 2020 Author Posted April 2, 2020 Ok, I spent the morning masking and painting the various markings on the plane. The squiggle on the starboard side had part of the white outline lift. I think I might just leave it as weathering. 7 1

BlrwestSiR Posted April 4, 2020 Author Posted April 4, 2020 Got some more done on the plane. I installed the cowl MGs. I then installed the exhausts. I had already assembled and painted them. Next up was the lower chin rad and the flaps. 5
BlrwestSiR Posted April 4, 2020 Author Posted April 4, 2020 Thanks Dale! I installed the gear last night. Right side up. Getting close to the finish line. Carl 4
Spitfire Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 I'm not a great fan of Luftwaffe subjects but this is looking really great, it makes me want to dig out mine so you must be doing it right then, looking forward to more. Cheers Dennis 2 1
