Bomber_County
So calling this complete....... The Lee / Grant story is well known but I didn’t realise a Lee had 7 man crew and the Grant a 6 man crew. This will be my second Takom and is well engineered with little to no flash. Starting with the running gear, for each there are 17 components, two of which are the bolts to be shaved off the sprue and positioned. There are six of these so a little consuming but they build up beautifully. The only AM I’m adding is the RB 75mm M2 and 37mm barrels........the dust weathering is Mig Pigments Alcaline Dust literally mixed with water.............hope you guys enjoy..... 6
DocRob
Nice and dusty Phil, the look reminds me of objects in the sand close by the sea, salt and dust caked, I love that effect. I will to store that idea, using water on pigments for some future projects. Will there be a figure leaning out of the hatch?
Bomber_County
Thanks Rob, appreciated, that’s exactly the look I was after. The good thing about using water is you can go mad in adding the the pigment allow to dry and then brush off as required........my figure painting is atrocious but a figure would be good.....

Thanks Gaz, very much appreciated. You should try water at least if you make a mistake you let it dry and brush it off or part of it. I was contemplating using varnish or similar but that’s pretty permanent....
GusMac
Great result Phil. They do remind me of an old-fashioned water tank with all those rivets.

belugawhaleman
looks great. Dusty little thing. As I'm writing this I'm watching the movie Sahara and, of course, I suddenly have the urge to build a Lee. the grant must be very similar to the Lee differing mainly in the turret. What is your opinion regarding the takom kits? For the rest of you what do you think is the best lee kit available?

The Lee has another small turret on it as for as the Takom it’s relatively straight forward and all the compound angles line up, I haven’t built anyone else’s Lee /Grant so unsure the best, Carl built the MiniArt one here...I would recommend the Takom, I have a feeling it’s cheaper as well......
