  1. Can't wait to see this with the 88 underneath it...that will get you a first place for sure.
  2. Great review! Some might think the wings lack detail, but the D.XXI wings were wood covered, so no rivets or panel lines visible. I can see someone like Ushi or James build a "barebone" version of this plane. Partly metal, partly fabric, partly wood...imagine that! Will be stunning! See it as a challenge
  3. I like the Kingfisher...add a nice HpH catapult for it and I'll build one for sure
  4. For a large amount of photos from the D.XXI replica (build by Fokker). http://www.flevoaviationhobby.net/walkaround/aircraft/fokkerd21_221/fokkerd21_221.html
  5. Since I'm sure several of you will get the Silver Wings Fokker D.XXI, maybe you'll find this nice to know. The D.XXI was equiped with 4 FN M36 7.92 (.312) machineguns. I was wondering about suitable brass barrels and did some research. Okey...research is perhaps a big word...I was bored and googled a bit Anyway...this I found... And this is the brass barrel solution for it... The Master AM-32-012 British Mk 2 Browning .303 caliber (7,7mm) without booster and flash hider (2pcs) will do nicely. Only a minor adjustment needed to get yourself some nice brass barrels for your beloved D.XXI Cheers! Rob
  6. A visit to the Aalsmeer shop will always blast a hole in your wallet The HpH 410 plan made place for the more humble Fokker D.XXI. Probably a better resin starter kit...and being Dutch it's of course a must have. And some more goodies Rob
  7. The whole 1/32 (Luftwaffe) shebang from Airscale Super fast service btw
  8. Also nice...for pit upgrade nutters.... http://www.simhq.com/_air6/BF-109E-3/index.html#1 It's 3D art, but very well done. I'm using this for my E-3 pit. At first glance the Eduard pit looks okey, but there's actually a lot to improve. The Eduard seat is piss poor bad for instance
  9. https://www.flickr.com/photos/farinihouseoflove/sets/72157603914662142/ Some useful photos there...worth checking. Rob
  10. very nice! that drop tank holds more fuel than I use in a year
  11. Still guessing, but since the landing gear legs on your photo are in the shade and not darker than the underside...seems like 65 or bare metal. Inside of the covers look darker to me...02, but might as wel be the same.
  12. Thanks guys!! About Vallejo...yes, I'm happy with it, but I can't really compare it with Gunze, since I don't use it. Gunze is hard to get (in a shop) overhere and I like to be able to buy it locally. The Vallejo "Air" range is still incomplete and some RLM colours are wrong imho...like 74 and 75. I think they're working on that, because they no longer list their 74 and 75 in a recently updated RLM chart. Until they release new colours I mix my own when needed. About the Revell 109 cockpit...it's decent as it is, but with some work it can become more complete. This is a second attempt and I almost finished 3 and 4 with more..and more accurate details. I'm still learning doing a "scrap heap challenge"...maybe number 6 or 7 will be really okey...or I get bored trying and get myself a Brassin pit
  13. With HGW seatbelts, Barracuda prop and decals, Vallejo paint, Mig and Vallejo pigments, Albion Alloys and Evergreen. Thanks to all the kind people here and special thanks to Anders Hjortsberg and Roy Sutherland. Still room for improvements, but that's okey...next one will be better...I hope Rob
  14. Finished... Thanks for the advise and encouragements. I'll post some more photos in the finished builds section. On to the 1940 GB E-3 now. Rob
  15. Great stuff! To be proud of. Since some here seem to have a foot in the door there, perhaps ask for a 1/32 He 177...or go wild and mention a Blohm und Voss Bv 138
  16. I'm "back in town" Vacation or not...the 109 production didn't stop Almost finished 2 pits, some more plumbing left to do. Okey...back to the G-10 now...and I'll start with the 1940 GB E-3 next week. Rob
  17. I have no problems cutting the "other ones". I'm a fan of their 132011 Luftwaffe Fighters set. Its says "set for two", but in fact....you get 3. Two shades of beige and one green. 3 sets for just over 7 euros...I gladly cut them myself for that amount
  18. Thanks! ...and greetings from sunny Lanzarote Looking forward to finish this build, but on hold because of...see above. But of course I took some stuff with me to work on...me bad....working on 2 109 pits here. Just took the pit parts with me. No paint, but can do a lot with some Albion, Evergreen, scrap pe, sprue, HGW belts and some tools and glue. Oh...and a small magnifying lamp. One more week without my airbrush to go...I'll survive...I hope Rob
  19. Love the sketches. The style is perfectly suitable for a great comic strip. Btw...why is it called comic in English?...sounds so disrespectful. The French "bande dessinée" sounds better Rob
  20. There are builds...nice builds, really nice builds, fantastic builds, but there's a point when builds become scary. This is a complete new class on my scale: frightening builds You entered the twilight zone of modeling and I'm afraid there is no way out...poor sod Rob
