  1. Carl, one of the things I admire about you is your willingness to go far and deep in subject material. Monsters, sci-fi, armor, etc. I feel like an amateur in comparison, man. I wreck armor, can’t do cars, my sci-fi attempts look like kids toys, and I terminate the Terminator straight to the bin. Awesome, awesome haul, man, and that Sheridan is beyond righteous
  2. Masterful job there, Sir! Oh, and I had better see you in Vegas next year! Otherwise I will stamp my feet and act all put out!
  3. Hey folks, This might seem a bit off the wall here, but I’ve actually never built a D.Vll. I have a bunch in the stash, but generally I’ve tended towards the big twin engine jobs and two seaters. The aftermarket support for enhancements for this kit is pretty astronomical, so it’s popularity speaks for itself: it quickly sold out the initial three releases, followed ever quicker by the fourth release, and the fifth release was well on its way to extinction when the Company went bust. I’ve heard stories about the cowl being fiddly, and the typical ultra precise fit of parts meaning a small layer of paint can throw it all off, but I’d love to hear it from the horses mouths, so to speak. I’d love to do one, I know it won’t give me any issues, but hearing other’s experiences with the thing will be interesting. Let’s talk about it, y’all.
  4. Looking like it’s gonna be a good ol’ shindig!
  5. Crazy. After a year off, everyone’s gonna be hungry for a good time, unless they keep it all locked down.
  6. Got ours as well.
  7. I've always been a Douglas travellerm, and I had a lump in my throat when Northwest finally stopped their DC-10 service, and it was the same when Air Canada stopped flying the DC-8s. I've travelled many hundreds of thousands of miles in those aircraft, and even a couple trips with Air Canada onboard their glorious L-1011s. What an amazing aircraft that Tristar was, with the DC-10 a close second. The "stretch 8" was like riding around in a mailing tube, but totally competent and worthy as one of the best early jets of all time. I've never even so much as stepped onboard a 747, although they were everywhere when I was travelling for work. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd see the day where the 747 would be out of passenger service. They were the ubiquitous large people movers. The success of the 747 killed off the L-1011, hurt the DC-10, and caused the end to the A380 as well.
  8. Even cursive in English is going the way of the Dodo bird. No joke, when I write in cursive, not one single person under 30 has a clue what I wrote. It's a GREAT code. Same as writing on English, but, as best as you are able, using the Cyrillic alphabet.
  9. Well, I’m in need of a couple of D.1s and a couple D.Vlls would be nice. Maybe even another Felix and AEG. I do have decidedly too many Camels, though.
  10. I’ll be buying a nose section, with he intention of super detailing it. I’d love to learn to how to do oil canning like Martin does..
  11. Depending on how it’s engineered, you might be right. But they sure are unique.
  12. The original Ju-52, Smitty. Made its name as a flying freight car long before Hitler took a shine to it. The three radials gave it better performance where the air wasn’t super thick at -30 degrees. Notice the original counterbalanced rudder used on the first few off the line and was soon changed to he straight style, along with being retrofitted to the entire fleet. I assume the rudder must have been way too light compared to the elevators and ailerons
  13. I’m more interested in the thousands of civilian possibility of the Ju.52..
  14. They sure got worked up into a lather on TOS. James played them like a fiddle. Oh wait, I’d say more like the entire bleedin’ string section! All chuckling aside, this will be a very good seller for HKM. Now we need a Mk.X, but if they do a postwar Mk.X, I’ll be on the bloody warpath! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
  15. You sure can’t tell in the picture, either. I have an A-7 in my stash with every possible piece of AM including the canopy, and some very cool out of production decals for it. Ive contemplating building it, but I’m dust not feeling having to get crazy tings all the cutting, fitting, sanding, and BS of the AM. Plus having to fix all the other issues with the kit: too wide tail, etc, etc.. Someday but not not now. And I’d love an AF version as well. Just different.
  16. I’m still doing the same old stuff.... HMS Speedy, September Fury, P-47
  17. Phil, I truly hate to give you any ideas here and risk losing a fellow propeller head, but good grief that looks awesome!
  18. A dirty little secret of mine is that mot post 1960 jets I build are non LSM. I made that decision freely and with foreknowledge of thought after modern Russian and American fighter jets grew to gigantic proportions. With the exception of the Mug-29 and F-16 of course,,,
  19. Have no fear, we’re all a bunch of screw ups around here at times.
  20. I’ll move it for you. Have no fear!
  21. Ho Lee Chitt! What an entrance!! Welcome to The Forums, man! If you’re an aircraft modeler, you give me much hope. Every single one of my attempted armor builds have ended in massive craters, so I rejoice! And again,
  22. Thanks Krow. I’ve always said that if you have a personal gripe with someone, deal with it in private. In public is not a good place. And around here in North Texas, PP props and Rexx exhausts are pretty much a requirement for any kind of context model here. Especially for me, because I certainly can’t come close to equalling what they do. Means you can add a few $$$ go every planned WW1 build
  23. Gazz, it looks stunning. I’m thinking of doing one of Galland’s postwar 109s he flew in the 1980s....
  24. Krow, you mean this? I never thought about it, I said it from the heart, but it does kinda seem like a plug, eh? It’s true, at least around here, we don’t have the skills all you guys have so we gotta get the good stuff. This all seems a bit surreal.....
  25. Just so everyone is clear here, Karim was personally asked by Alexey to act as his intermediary here. Karim has a thorough mastery of English and is better able to communicate. Lets get this behind us. Covid has us all on edge, and we all are wondering about the future whe continuing to work to the fullest extent available. I use Alexey’s products, and to me, they are the best in the world. Around here, you can hardly expect to compete a WW1 model without Alexey’s products. oh, and Oleg’s as well.
