  1. Thanks boys! I had a good day starting with community television sending a crew over to video my business and woodworking shop. For a segment to air in a week or so. Then an open house in the business , a number of people came over for food & bevvys. Not too bad for a 58th.
  2. If it was 'impacted' into that shape I would expect damage , but looks to have been 'compressed' into that shape. Lucky.
  3. The facts are there for anyone to see. And I've watched and seen it for years. Since you are complicit , of course you would deny it. Calling me names in that childish manner only proves my point.
  4. To put anothers hard work up here and there as something thats 'free to all' is a callous disregard for their effort. But thats what the computer has done to our society , almost from day one. The bottom line is you ,unfortunately , will have to develop some skill in software usage. Stars , bars and circles are just so tough to create.
  5. I watched OCC in the beginning when it was about bikes. Then watched it go down hill as TV focused on the silly drama. Many of the Biker genre of tv was ok , a lot of it was conjecture and misinformation as well.
  6. For me I like building my own personal ride. Before the 'craftsmanship and art" come into play , the engineering has to be accomplished. In the wide tire genre parts are available to accomplish tire width of unusable and ridiculous dimension. This chopper was cheap and the owner besides passing away had reached his limit of how far he could take the project. He had mounted the rear fender BEFORE centering the wheel. Heres how far out the sprocket alignment was: The sprocket closest being the trans drive , the rod aligned across the face of the rear wheel sprocket indicates a .5" gap. A full 1.5" sprocket is available , he just had the wrong one. Many mountings for the various equipment are missing as well , usually welded or fabbed prior to the frame being painted. He had put oil in the oil tank though so an optimist for sure. I'll build the whole bike with everything in place to pass an inspection and sell it.
  7. I like riding all kinds of bikes and love it all. My fav was 'Busa I took for a ride, stood it straight up in the air , then took it back .Carefully. Imagining bikes in a setting they are not made for is wasteful thinking to say the least. Reading my post further you will see the statement that its a saturday night cruiser nothing more. Not all of us want to look like a recon probe from the spaceship that just landed yonder. lol I ride this almost everyday: It can and does handle any roadway and riding situation.
  8. No my back has been good to me as I have been good to it. A properly set up rigid is fun to ride , you can steer it with your ass , and if you see the bumps ahead you can pulll your self off the seat by the handlebars and skate right over them. I'll be 58 in a short time , still building a rigid for personal use.
  9. In/out of gear is the first symptom of the shifter detente spring going. An annoying little spring that entails half the bike getting disasembled to fix.
  10. lol Here is the bike, there is a softy seat really big for your butt: Def not anything but a main street saturday night cruiser. On the other hand.... Springer you say? Here is my last hand built: This one was an amazing bike.
  11. ******WARNING OVERDRAMATIC PANDEMIC COMMENT WARNING****** In an inanimate moment of overdramatic thinking , a thought progressed to the point of reasoning whether this could be a warning shot across the bows, with The Real Pandemic yet to occur. With the future victims on display in hourly reports. . (with apologies to HST) On a happier note I run a tourism based business literally at the end of the line. In the past month I've had peeps from ALL OVER THE WORLD in my store. Less than 10% in masks. I run no shield , even though I've made a few for island business' , and dont wear a mask. My best sales line? " You guys dont hafta wear those masks unless your robbing the place" I feel ok , I'll know quickly when something has invaded , it just occured to me the depth of my 'exposure' and I felt a slight chill.
  12. Ive used paper strips for strapping. When seeking an answer to some of these modelling questions ,it can help to go back to the beginning. Many techniques and procedures were sorted by guys who never had the resources we have today. The rush to A/M can be problematic.
  13. The sun treatment proves its not a 'moisture blush' . Thats good. It is a stain from the decal solution then. So it is ingrained in the finish. Thats bad as it means a removal process. Try some future on it or wet sand the areas carefully and you should see it begin to disappear.
  14. lol 1 beer and I 'm feelin' it so none for me while I work.
  15. ...another Klear tip; Mix it 50/50 with IPA for a hard gloss coat , I never got the clouding or white staining using that mix. Its a minor issue anyway , patience being the best cure.
  16. I always wait 48 hrs. I have heard an application of Klear will , um , clear this up. Try some with a small brush in an accessible area.
  17. Interesting that these 'pockets' of kits are showing up. Not surprising they sell out in 1.5 minutes.
  18. Pandemic surge in tourism and sales in my store have been getting in the way. Looking forward to the seasons slow down, as A Gotha is poised at the cusp of critical mass , whereby I acquire tunnel vision and go straight through to the end. Thanks for your patience.
  19. The best thing would be to take off and nuke the planet from orbit. Before humans figure out how to take the inherent despicability of the human race off the planet.
  20. Count the stripes and divide the height of the rudder by the number of stripes is how I would do it.
