Hasegawa Nakajima Ki-84.
1to1scale replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Don’t put yourself down, I have seen your work, it’s top notch! We all screw up a kit or part occasionally. I worked two months building a nice MIG-15, only to screw it up in final weathering. -

This was the color I painted mine. It was Tamiya Khaki, but looks like the gunze looks about the same. -

Looks amazing! Good work as usual. go with whatever jet floats your boat the most, maybe consider a Tamiya? Fun to build with minimal issues, although, I am building an old Hasegawa 1/32 Skyhawk, that was a nice easy build. All I added was a pilot in a seat, and a pair of rein Defa cannons. sometime old kits build nice too.

The end of plastic model videos on youtube.
1to1scale replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
Well, it’s not the end of modeling videos...it’s the end of monetized and searchable videos. So what it means, if Andy makes a video of him building a Luftwaffle 107, then he can choose to label it as a children’s video, which means he will not be able to make any money from YouTube off that video because that video will not have tracking cookies, which means no advertising, because under COPPA laws, you cannot track children and target advertising to them. You will also not be able to search “Luftwaffle 107” and find his video. So, if he is not making any money, and people can’t find his build reviews and how-to’s, what’s the point of making them? The other side is, he can say that the Luftwaffle 107 kit has a label on it that says “not for children, this is not a toy, ages 14+”. He then monetizes the video, which allows for advertising, and tracking cookies. All is good, everyone is happy...end of story. Until a parent sees their child watching the video, and an ad for Viagra pops up (pun intended) and reports the video. Then some 24 year old Washington political science graduate named “Greta” reviews the video, she has no idea what model building is, determines, “hey, that looks like a toy to me!”. ”These evil old men are luring innocent children to their basement dungeons!” She then takes a look at Andy’s channel and finds 100’s more videos with advertising, catering to children! Oh my god! Time to fine old Andy $42,500 per video. Now he has a nice fine of $4,250,000, and a very least he will have to shell out $100K for a lawyer to try and fight this. All because he wanted to make a few hundred extra dollars per month, and promote his hobby shop. The way I see it, I can’t blame Andy for deciding to stop making videos. -

It’s a real possibility when politicians regulate and make decisions for us. As a parent I take responsibility for what content my son gets to view. COPPA has good intentions followed with bad legislation. -
WOW! I love it, never heard of this kit before, but I want one now!

I’m in, and I’ll look through my stash in the next day or two to see what I can come up with. update 11/22... I built one and think the world of this kit, here is my contribution. Korean war U.S. Medium Tank M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight" Soviet Field Car GAZ-67B also included Tamiya - No. 35359 - 1:35 -
I know, it’s hard finding space for weight, I had the same issue and had to build a false compartment, some can go under the front floor, some on the floor of the compartment between the nose wheel and bomb bay, and a few grams behind the IP. another less effective place to put weight, but pretty roomy is directly behind the engine faces.

He That’s exactly what I ordered, just remember not to lick it!

D-day group build mustang is close, took a month off to work on the Mig-15, but this should be done tomorrow. I had to steal Allison pipes from one on my P-40N I was building, now I am going to have to see if someone has some leftover from and Eduard P-40 Kit. -

Yes, that went across their entire abdomen I think, but if you were upside down, in an open cockpit, I can see why! -
Problem is, BB’s are cheap low grade metal, stainless nuts or hardened bearings will not corrode inside paint. You drop something steel, aluminum, or copper inside a bottle of paint, you will have problems in a year. i bought a small bag of 100 marine grade stainless 3mm nuts for a few dollars, I still have half the bag 2 years later.

Nice work, I feel the same way about the Revell Mustang, it’s a real ball-buster. -
Tamiya Mossie build resumed

John, have you ever looked into commercial display cases? They are relatively large and inexpensive for the amount of glass you get. this one is 4ft wide, 6ft tall, and 18” deep. https://thefixturezone.com/frameless-tower-display-case-48.html?utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cse&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=1o20&scid=scplpframeless-tower-display-case-48&sc_intid=frameless-tower-display-case-48&gclid=CjwKCAiAh5_uBRA5EiwASW3Iaq2PEc_bAB3TMZB1qlwzgibL2-_DUGc2RCPwB3lwgtrbgHv3vPTAPRoCbAUQAvD_BwE -
Another thing you can use is 1/32 lead sheet, it can be folded and layered, cut to fit, and would go under the main floor, however, I don’t think it would be enough. I had used lead rod, but it left a lot of dead space. I agree that you might want to use more than the recommended weight. If you can fit enough in. you can look at my thread on this page. Remember, that recommended 300G is in line with the nose wheel, anything behind will decrease effectiveness by a percentage. Don’t worry about the nose wheel, even with a lot of weight, the actual pressure will be barely a few grams, it’s the main gear that will take the majority of the weight of the aircraft. While the main gear are ABS and strong, and gluing them into the clamshell kit gear with epoxy will go a long way for strength, there is always a chance you could accidentally break the gear at some point. After some deliberation, I did order the brass gear inserts, mainly because I have added a lot of internal extras to my B-24j, and this model will probably weigh 5-6 pounds when done.

Pretty much, you got it.

HobbyBoss A-26 Invader: Holy Thread Drift, Batman!

Yeah, but I think Ernie was behind the latest unrest, in a “Bay of pigs” kind of way! -
I do not own the HKM Lanc, when it was first released, I studied the sprue shots and was not impressed considering the high cost of the kit, I decided to wait for the Wingnut kit, which is quoted by them to be as far below $400 USD as possible. When I saw the kit at the nationals, I was very impressed. As for the HKM, I had several chances to look at and fondle the parts, there are definitely issues, and the amount of work required to correct some, is not my cup o tea. But, the kit is not trash, nor is it unbuildable, I just chose to wait for the one that I prefer. If you have seen Ernie’s lanc, it’s possible to build a very nice model. And in reality, they can be built as is, OOB. And as far as accessories, iconair just announced a tractor and bomb carts for the Lanc yesterday.
