Where on earth are 3-d printed toilets available for purchase?! Anyway, love the idea of Russians looting toilets! And yes, I agree, the R35......definitely cute!

Having just purchased the Tamiya r35 tank....I had to share this video from YouTube. When the Germans first saw these things.....they must have laughed like Hell!

I have built the b1 bis but due to my move last year never finished it. It was damaged during the move. I plan to repurchase the kit when I can find it at a decent price. I lost a bunch of the track links as well. I also have the Tamiya Somua on order. I've been thinking of buying a set of paint markers

Well, yet another kit from Tamiya came today. Wasn't happy with the delivery though, the package was delivered damaged.... No serious damage to its contents, however, just some minor creases on the box top. It's Tamiya's French Light Tank R35 (35373). I wasn't even aware that Tamiya made this kit. It looks good, with link & length tracks, a nice figure, and nice texturing of the cast areas of the hull and turret. It is very small, however as the real tank was tiny . The big challenge will be painting this thing, as the French camouflage schemes were a bit complicated with their black- outlined, hard- edged designs.

Nice! Glad to hear the kits go together well. Thanks.

Holy Cow! And that's in 1/48 scale?

Nice work! And I like the interesting subject.....cool aircraft!

From Hobby Easy in Hong Kong to my home in less than a week. This came today; it's Takom's M3 Lee, early (03.01.2085) in 1/35. Released in 2017, I've been looking for this one for awhile..... Always out of stock. I always liked the M3 Lee's anachronistic looks....looking out of date the day it first rolled off the assembly line. Anyway, after reading some of the reviews, this one might not be the effortless build that most Tamiya kits are.....We'll see.

My total aftermarket stash fits in a small box in my model closet. My decals, in a large zip-lock bag. I don't really buy THAT much aftermarket. Aber barrels go into the kit boxes.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, hope everything turns out OK in the end.

Valentine MK.II/IV Tamiya 1/35
belugawhaleman replied to belugawhaleman's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks Martin. I really like the Tamiya link & length style tracks as well. Next, I'll paint the tracks. Tamiya always recommends a mix of their metallic grey and red brown. I'll do this, adding some thinned down track wash I have, then highlight with with graphite powder or drybrushed steel Metallizer. I may add some dust effects or "kursk soil" to the Hull, but as you know, I like "clean builds". But first, a clear gloss coat prior to decals and pin washing with Tamiya panel liners in black and brown. I always find that my pin wash efforts are lost when I flat coat......not sure what I'm doing wrong. Tonight, I've been working on the tools. -
Valentine MK.II/IV Tamiya 1/35

Some preliminary painting done.... Last night did up the wheels....lots of wheels. Had a little trouble last night ..while working on this I had a major drop in my blood sugar. Started sweating, shaking and suffered from confusion.... Scary! Got it sorted out soon however, and resumed work in about an hour...to my relief. Anyway, the tank hull was painted on Friday night. I had left the two front fender guards clipped in these sort of alligator clip things over the weekend.. And somehow, the vinyl protectors on the ends reacted with the paint...messing up the finish. I resprayed them , but one doesn't look right... The one seen on the tank in the picture. I may strip it and do it again. On the wheels.. I used a stencil on the smaller ones for the tires and hand brushed the tires on the larger ones. The color is an olive drab/ khaki mix, not sure if i got it right... it looks browner in person than in the pictures. Still got a lot to do. Got some needed paint arriving tomorrow. I added a picture of the offending alligator thing. -
100 pack of #11 blades, complete junk.
belugawhaleman replied to ScottsGT's topic in General Discussion
Glad to see this posted, as I need some #11 blades. Last time I purchased some blades with handles on Amazon. I was happy with the handles but found the blades tips Chipped easily. I'll have to go back and see what I purchased. Some useful info here. -
Looks nice! I see what you mean about the headlight guards. I'll see what aftermarket options are available. According to the info in the kit the Israelis shortened the big French Gun by a whopping 1.5 meters .....leading to reduced performance by the gun.

Another Tamiya model came today; this time their Israeli Tank M51.(35323) These were modified cast hull M4A1 Shemans up-gunned with a shortened version of the 105mm gun from the French AMX-30 tank. These Shermans were also retrofitted with the later HVSS suspension, and a new Cummins diesel engine. The kit is a 2012 release. It has 3 marking options; two in light sand from 1967 and one dating from 1973 in a grayish-buff color. The kit looks nice...... But has "rubber band" tracks......although, honestly, they look pretty good. The cannon is molded in halves with a multi-piece muzzle brake. I found that using fine steel wool to finish the seams on these types Of barrels works very well by the way. The hull, turret, and other parts have a very nice cast texture.....looks good. I'm sure it will be an easy build.

Thanks, I'll check them out. I just placed an order with Hobby Easy again. I'm waiting for their "payment request" email to complete the purchase. Last time it took about a week to get my Hetzer from them.

From Royal Model came this spray masking stencil for doing tank wheels. It's marked No. 048 and it comes with a guide on the packaging on which numbered circles can be used for various listed tanks. This, with a similar set of circle stencils I purchased earlier by Tamiya will be useful. I've already found circles that I can use on the Valentine kit I'm currently working on.

Indeed! Who could ask more? The panzer IV ausf g is one of the kits I'm interested in having recently purchased the G. I haven't bought from plaza before, how are they?

Valentine MK.II/IV Tamiya 1/35
belugawhaleman replied to belugawhaleman's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
A little more progress.... Finished the other side tracks.......let the "Extra thin" cure on both sides before removing the tracks as complete units.. This will make painting much easier. Cool! I think these new Tamiya tracks are great......they look very nice! I'll place the track sides in separate bags until painting and final assembly. -
Wow! Nice work.......really, seriously, did I say wow? Jeez, very nice!
