  1. Judging by their Helldiver, I'm not sure I'd buy anything by Infinity. Yes, I'd prefer this kit in 1/32 but I would definitely not buy it in 1/72 scale! I was recently on a online store looking at items by IBG. I was frustrated by the fact that many of their more interesting armor subjects were offered only in 1/72 scale! Who builds 1/72 scale armor! What am I going to do with tanks in that scale? Wear them on a charm bracelet?
  2. Agree. Especially since it's a subject that hasn't been done to death! I would like to see more Japanese subjects including early or inter-war stuff. The scale doesn't bother me so much as I don't have many other aircraft to display it with.....it wouldn't look out of place! But ,then again, I Did build a 1/18 V1 flying bomb!
  3. This came today for my Tamiya Jagdtiger: From ABER, it's their 35L-84 German 128mm PaK 44 L/55 gun barrel for Sd. Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger. The kit barrel is molded in two pieces and the thought of filling and sanding these seams didn't appeal to me. Aber machines the barrel in two parts that screw together and the parts fit together perfectly. Good quality stuff from ABER.
  4. I think the problem in my case was with a bad employee, or perhaps employees. Two of the failed delivery "attempts" where on Friday afternoons at about 5 pm, the other on a Saturday, also at about the same time. Deliveries made during the morning hours and not on weekends are successful for some reason. Anyway, I'm going to avoid UPS, and if not possible, have my UPS packages delivered at my Mother's home which is nearby. She lives in a gated community and UPS seems to have some sort of arrangement there. The deliveries are more reliable there. I've never had problems with the postal service, or lately with FEDEX, or Amazon, so that won't change. Only heavy packages shipped UPS scheduled delivery on weekend afternoons.....lazy b*stards!
  5. Can't you see it? It's behind the rabbit....to the left a bit.
  6. Glad to see it's resolved.
  7. That's strange, I added a picture today and yesterday without any problems.
  8. On my tablet, I just click on add files and I'm given a choice where to get the pictures from. I go to files, click on image I want , actually the text next to the image and it automatically loads on the site.
  9. I got this today from a family member as an unexpected gift ! A suprise, because she doesn't always speak favorably of the Hobby! Anyway, we went together to a hobby shop in the town where I attended high school. I haven't been there in years.....thought the owner was dead, honestly. I recently heard It was still open and is being run by his son. Anyway I wasn't intending to purchase anything but she decided to buy me the kit. Well, the kit in question is Tamiya's Russian Heavy self-propelled Gun JSU-152 (35303). I've been looking for this kit for awhile, it's backordered at Tower and other sites (it is now back in stock at Sprue Brothers). Anyway, I'm looking forward to buildIng this big, purposefully ugly-looking, powerful, and intimidating vehicle. It has both link & length and "rubber band" tracks, clear parts, and photo-etch. The tracks can be built-up using A provided jig(s) to reproduce the sag between the return rollers.....clever. Yes, it's another addition to my un-built stash..but , this time, I'm not responsible!
  10. I think it's a wonderful surprise whatever the scale, and I may be a purchaser.
  11. I was surprised to see this today on The Modeling News. Both the scale and subject are unexpected. Very cool!
  12. Sad news, Carl. Sorry for your loss.
  13. Yes,........I think I must really need an intervention or....therapy. Next week I'll buy the Opel blitz from Tamiya having found the Archer transfers sheet for it .....then call it quits for awhile. There is also a Tamiya Marder based on the 38(t) chassis I'd like to build.
  14. This came today: A next-day delivery from Tower Hobbies, Tamiya's Panzerjager "Jagdtiger" Sd.Kfz.186 Fruhe Production. (35295) in 1/35. This model features both link & length and vinyl tracks. Either choice looking pretty good. There's also some photo-etch, two "torso" figures and marking options for five vehicles in three-color camouflage all looking about the same to me. The long gun barrel is molded in halves.....so I ordered a replacement from Aber (ABM 35L84) which should arrive next week. This is another nice kit from Tamiya and I'm sure it will have perfect fit and engineering. A while back i bought an Iwata hi-line Hp-Bh airbrush with a .2mm needle and I've had great results with it.....and I'm eager to try it out on the German camouflage.
  15. Great work! Can't even imagine making my own buttons for a figure in 1/35! I have AFV Club's sIG33 15cm Heavy Infantry Gun kit and it also looks pretty good. I'll be following.
  16. Same here, I use both added to them, I use Tower Hobbies for all the Tamiya armor I've been getting lately. Because they're nearby, I get orders from Tower the next day with cheap shipping at under $4.00. (Fedex). I have to mention, I've had more trouble with UPS lately..... This time with a non-hobby related delivery. 2 failed delivery "attempts" with the same package. I was in front of my home as the delivery truck stopped at a neighbors home...delivered a package, then drove right by me. A moment later (A few seconds) I got a notification that There was a failed delivery "attempt". Apparently, the delivery did not want to contend with delivering the package which weighed about nine pounds. After spending a lot of time with Ups customer service, I arranged with them to deliver the next day asking the delivery to be left at my front door (I was at home) same thing... Failed " attempt ". Customer service again, complaint filed, arranged delivery. Third time got it.....but seriously? Really?.
  17. Regards Wolf ,on your special day and I hope you'll enjoy your cake!
  18. This finally came today. From Tamiya, its their 15 cm Schwere Panzerhaubitze 18/1 Auf Fahgestell Panzerkampfwagen III /IV (SF) (SD.KFZ.165) or more simply stated, Hummel. I previously got the metal barrel Tamiya sells for this kit. The kit looks great with Link & length tracks, some metal bits including screws, three figures, and even a screw driver.
  19. Again, Thanks for fixing this!
  20. Cool! I've had a couple of the Chinese mini lathes over the years and I used them to make parts and fittings for my live steam hobby. My most recent lathe has sat unused at my mother's house for a few years.... I haven't had a chance to do the work needed To tune the lathe to get it to work its best. Usually I work on the compound and cross slide to get them working smoothly. Never got the chance to do that. Maybe I'll do that This week. I'm dying to get back to that kind of work. The last work I did was to make a replacement chimney for an Empire b 30 steam engine I have. On the Empire engines, the chimney unscrews to fill the boiler and it also houses the safety valve.
  21. Filler or putty?.....I've had my share....it ain't bad, but Velveta, haven't eaten it in years! Not since childhood in fact.
  22. Will that be the Wing nut kit? That'll be a cool build!
