  1. Looking good, John. Glad to see you've got that rudder fixed!
  2. Some recent arrivals: Some accessories from MASTER MODEL; Their U.S.37mm M6 gun barrel (MASGM35029). I got two of these, one for an M8 greyhound and another for a Staghound MK I. I also got a set of their Browning M1919 .30 caliber barrels one piece muzzle (GM-35-005). These I'll also use on the Staghound MK I. I also got an Ancient kit from Tamiya; their M113 U.S. Armoured Personnel Carrier (35040). This kit dates back to 1974 and I remember building it about 1979 or thereabouts. I ordered An EDUARD detail set for it (EDU35046). I also have a better Browning .50 m2 from a Tamiya weapons set, and an Aber barrel for a M2 that I may use. I want to build this kit mostly for nostalgia purposes, as it was one of the first model Kits I ever built. I had a look in the box.........a funny thing, I don't remember it being so small!
  3. Today came a kit from Polish kit maker IBG Models; their Chevrolet C15TA Armoured Truck in 1/35 scale. It looks like a nice kit; being nicely molded and includes photo etched parts. IBG also makes this truck as the "Otter" Reconnaissance car. The Otter version is on my list of future purchases as being weird and ungainly-looking it has caught my interest. I've included a picture of an otter.
  4. The HS-129 looks cool. I've never tried one of the ZM kits before.
  5. It's from the poem URICONIUM by Wilfred Owen.
  6. Downloaded this today: Panzer General: Heinz Guardian and the Blitzkrieg Victories of WW II. by Kenneth Macksey.
  7. Cool stuff! I've got to get one of the Tamiya spitfires someday also one of their 1/32 Zeros.
  8. More kits today: From TAMIYA another Sherman; their M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" European Theater in 1/35. Yes, I realized that the Korean war "Easy Eight" wasn't the correct version for my Cuban Sherman project so I got this version. Also from TAMIYA; their M3A1 Scout Car in1/35. This has markings for two Soviet Lend-lease vehicles plus what looks like an early WW2 U.S. version in two-toned camouflage. I saw an interesting decal sheet by STAR DECALS that offers markings for the M3A1 scout car and the M8 Greyhound in Swedish markings as used by their U.N. forces in the Congo. I've already ordered them.
  9. Great-looking model of an iconic racer! One of my favorites. Well done!
  10. Today came my EBAY purchase of the BRONCO T17E1 STAGHOUND A/C MK. I (LATE PRODUCTION) CB-35011. In 1/35 scale. This I plan to do as a Cuban example using the STAR DECALS AFVs in Cuba #1 sheet. Cuba purchased 25 ex-Israeli Staghounds from Nicaragua in 1956.
  11. An interesting conversion. I would like to see a build thread on this.
  12. Today this came: AFV Club sIG33 15 cm Heavy Infantry Gun. It comes with a drilled-through metal barrel with rifling, photo etch parts, three wheel choices, and choice of firing or travel configurations. It can also be built as an early or late model. The elevation and traverse are functional.
  13. Today's mail brought Tamiya's U.S. M8 light armored car Greyhound (MM No. 228) in 1/35 scale. I had intended to use my Star Decals Afv's in Cuba # 1 to make a Cuban M8 but I see that the example on the decal sheet is a modified example. Well, perhaps I can represent the vehicle in its pre-modified form.
  14. Nice! What kit is your Comet? Bronco? I have a decal sheet that includes markings for a Cuban Comet but I can't find the Bronco kit in stock anywhere.
  15. Thanks https://spruebrothers.com/amm7606-ammo-by-mig-rubber-brush-set/
  16. A small diversion from my Panzer 1 a build is this IBG SKODA 100mm vs 14/19 howitzer in 1/35 scale. I have the painting and assembly done.
  17. Some more stuff today From Ammo-Mig three products: Their Tracks Wash enamel. (A.Mig-1002) Heavy Chipping Effects chipping fluid Light Dust Nature Effects. Yes, I'm going to try some weathering for a change. I also plan to buy some pigments and some washes. I also would like to try my hand at some wood graining, so I purchased some Winsor & Newton oils in burnt umber, burnt sienna, and raw sienna. I thought that might be fun. I'm working on a 1/16 tank and I want to make the tool handles look better. There's a shovel and the wood block used with the jack.
  18. I looked up those Mig-Ammo sets. They look like interesting products. Thanks for the info. Paul.
  19. More stuff came today: From Tamiya; their M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Korean War kit in 1/35 (#35359-4000). This is the kit that also includes Sprues for their older GAZ67B in 1/35 (# MM 121). I remember building this little Soviet "jeep" back in the early '80's. A look on Scalemates showed that it dates to 1973! So, A little nostalgia for me. Anyway, I plan to use the Star Decals AFV's in Cuba #1 sheet to build a Sherman that was in Santa Clara, Cuba in January 1959 . The kit looks great , as it's a Tamiya, after all ! I already ordered a Aber barrel (#35L-186) for it, which wasn't easy to find in stock anywhere. I got it from Burbank's House of Hobbies if anyone is looking for one. Also today I got three bottles of Vallejo's "liquid" metallic paints: their gold (#791), copper (#797), and silver (#790) I'm looking forward to trying these out.
  20. Interesting. I was thinking about buying the Hobby Boss Schneider, and I have Takom's St. Chamond, but the camouflage has always been a bit daunting to me. I also have the big Takom ft tanks, which being larger, doing the camouflage might be a little easier. I guess I must Eventually get over my inhibitions and go ahead and give it a try. I'm dying to build Takom's St. Chamond as it is one of those "So weird I must build it tank kits" as is the Schneider. Also, I've been looking at those Gundam markers. The fact that somebody used a sharpie I found amusing somehow .
