  1. Kev I have to agree with you .. I followed the link to the ebay page and I too would have thought the barrels are metal.
  2. Chris Looking awesome and your progress is amazing. The Big Cat surely is HUGE! I'm with Hubert and Rob option #2. BTW, great to see how clean. neat and organized your work bench remained - that's a science unto itself. .
  3. Ernie Enjoying following your progress on the small bits and pieces and especially your thoughts on weathering. Lots to think about
  4. Rob Hard enough building a 1/350 early USN WWII battleship kit, adding all the PE and details but the kit molding surely created a 'boatload' of extra work. Nice start on the turrets and cannons. Agreed, the kit is going to test all your skills (which are up to the task) and will require a great deal of tools and time. Following all the way.
  5. Rob Awesome choice and a very involved project/ I'll be following all the way.
  6. Ernie Got to love it. Can't wait until my oncologist gives the ok to leave the house without a mask, as my abilities to make antibodies keeps improving. First stop .. my wife Diane and I are hitting the diner! Enjoy and what did you guys eat?
  7. Ernie I tend to keep stocking up on them for specific builds down the road. One of the reasons I prefer then over Red Fox (which I still want to try) is the seatbelts and extra details included.
  8. James I'm with Ernie about Quinta 3D decals for the interior and use them now for every build where there is a set. A few months back I finished the Tamiya Spitfire Mk XVIe and used the full Quinta Cockpit detail set -awesome for sure.
  9. I'll be waiting and will be following. Remember I'm 75, so don't take forever to retire.
  10. Hubert I've bought mine in the 1970's, use them for all these years (a good chunk of time I wasn't modeling and they were packed away) and not a spec of rust. Only wish the case was a bit beefier but for a tool to lasted all these years and still in perfect shape, they were one of my best purchases I ever made. The amazing thing is I never lost any of the punches. Could be the s/s was changed over the years to keep the cost down?
  11. Thanks for the info and absolutely something to consider for down the road. Is the there a build thread on the forum? Love to see your approach and build
  12. Excellent choice for your next build and will be following.
  13. Looking forward to your Tamiya Mossie build with great interest and enthusiasm. As to which scheme, I haven't a clue. I did mine many years ago when the kit first was released in RAF markings. For me, any RAF markings are the way to go.
  14. OMG, looking simply tremendous. Woodworking skills are way beyond my abilities and the workmanship is off the charts.
  15. Thanks Martin Glad you're on the bus for the journey down memory lane.
  16. Ernie Just keep going at your own pace and enjoy the journey as you start to add all those assemblies and small parts. Yup, sun just beating down on all the upper surfaces while the aircraft are on deck. Looking forward to each update as the finish draws near.
  17. Mark Nice progress and glad KH's instructions under control
  18. Thanks Carl Just having fun and enjoy the build and a trip down memory lane.
  19. John Terrific work as always - Just love the NMF and overall finish - superb.
  20. John Gorgeous Mustang - beautiful and a terrific NMF. Always a pleasure to follow your builds.
  21. Ernie Only one thing to say; SWEET! A Big Bad Bruser for sure - just look at that nose!!
  22. One is listed on evilbay for $215. I don't remember what the going price was on SB or SH b ut I'm sure it was quite a bit less.
  23. Scott Never noticed but now hat you pointed it out, that is does. But also think back to the cars of that era as well and the tail fins - they all had that aerodynamic look - gotta love it.
