  1. Smitty Great deal for sure but way to big for my display cabinet. These day, I been stocking up on 1/48th scale jets.
  2. Carl Yikes, your bench is full with some mighty impressive projects underway. I have a hard time just keeping focused with one build going. How do you do it? 😉
  3. Nice going for sure and perfect for the GB
  4. Ernie I'm front and center, tuned to the right frequency and ready for the ride.
  5. Oliver Missed your updates and drooling over your work. Right with Harv and looking forward to the H34 build and updates
  6. John Terrific work on the engine cowling and prop. Looking mighty good
  7. Phil These days I'm much closer to your production then a tenth of John's amazing pace.
  8. Rob Nice going on the chipping and the various layers of paint under the topcoat comes through with flying colors.
  9. John Invasion stripes look so good and acrylic paints no less. I'm betting the wing/fuselage seam is perfect, which allows you to paint the wings off the fuselage. I tried it just once and for me, it wasn't a good decision. Earlier this year I started investing in Mig and Model Air paints again, as I decided to start breaking away from solvent based paints for health reasons. Very early this morning I was cleaning up some Mr Surfacer on the P-40 with Mr Color Self Leveling Thinner as always and the smell for the first time got to me. Not a smart move on my part, I quickly put on my respirator and opened the windows (it was 5:30 AM) and aired out the room for a good hour. Even though I'm heavily invested in MRP and Mr Color Lacquers, I'm for the most part going to stop using them and go back to my original plan of 100% acrylics and Ammo by Mig being my main pain as it is supposed to be 100% safe to use. I'm sure all the other acrylic/water based paints are close in safety.
  10. Right with Harv, looking might good and a ton of hard work to go.
  11. Chris Holy Smokes ... One lucky guy and the scenery' is spectacular. I'm i agreement that the left elevator seems to be a bit darker in tone but since it doesn't have the cammo, it appears to have been a replacement from another Eagle. I'm a F-35 guy and just love the Lightning. Thanks for posting
  12. Gaz As always - some mighty fine weathering and you're so right, the crew does obscure most the weathered details but will look so good.
  13. Paul Nice supply of Tamiya goodies - you just never can have enough.
  14. Scott When I painted the wheels and tires on my 1/144 Embraer 190 for the last GB, I painted them both ways. I just went super slow and there were some capillary runs to clean up but it went pretty well. Of course, I think I only had six sets to do, way less then C17 has.
  15. John Sounds good but for me, always needing a diet, I can't handle 'shake and bake' as it has too many calories🙃
  16. Mark Looking good and making some mighty nice progress
  17. Chris No way, your work is first class and beautifully built.
  18. Phil Looking good in her primer cote and now that you included the alligator clip, her small size really shows.
  19. Ernie Good luck with the soldering. In my model railroading days, I had to do a lot of desoldering and found that using a 'desoldering' strip of mesh helped a lot. Of course there is a proper name, which for the life of me, I can't remember. Good luck and fingers crossed 🤞
  20. John Looking so good and every build, you just keep amazing me at your ever-increasing speed and yet, your high level of work never varies.
  21. Much appreciated Chris Hard to believe I kept on going when I saw the alignment issues - I'm taking a senior moment and a mulligan all rolled into one on it. The repairs are done and even with the missing/lost left hand side teardrop window, I'm pushing onto the priming and painting. I'm finishing the P-40 no matter what, as it's now a test of wills.
